It was those two or Kirby and Dedede. I don't know which would have given me more cred. Probably neither.

Did you see the animated Stork / Cloud short at the beginning?
Its amazing how Pixar's character designs can make you fall in love with something 5 seconds after seeing them.

Got there at the very end of it. The site said the movie was at 6:45, but it was actually at 6:30, then my friends wanted to go to the candy bar, but I bailed while they were in the queue and went and sat down, therefore seeing the end of the short. It was great, though!
I think I really want the dog from Up. Like, seriously. He was so awesome.
Also I want to watch The Princess Bride again.

Re: Movies and Cinemas
So my Halloween plans included:
Chilling with my buddy while we started off with Episode 8 while cooking pizza's.
Getting drinks and pizza ready and throwing in King Kong (The original). Quite frankly, possibly the greatest piece of film EVER. Screw Citizen Kane, this has had such an obvious impact on so many films it's not even funny. Loved the shit outta it from the subtle humour to the well done effects that can still hold up to todays standards (a few exceptions).
Then we went with The Butchers (A Troma release) and it was a great B movie that topped the night off perfectly. Very well done film with a very different play out then one may expect. Also, I honestly think a beheading in it WASN'T animetronic but the real deal (Not a human beheading lol).
I recommend both as much sees

I saw Mulholland Drive.
David Lynch is either the greatest genious to ever live on this planet of ours...or totally insane.
Possibly both.

So, who here has experienced the awesome that is Paranormal Activity? This is a genuinely scary movie, none of this "stuff jumps out at you from the dark" crap. Even though it uses the whole "discovered footage" premise, it still manages to make itself very clear, and the majority of the movie is filmed on a tripod so it's not all shakey like cloverfield was. I know that it has probably been over-hyped by now, but really, go see it, it's a great movie.

Possibly both.
He has 2 movies which will break your heart:
-The Elephant Man
-The Straight Story (makes me cry like a baby every time. Incredibly moving story)
Both are sweet and mellow. He was quoted as saying "Tenderness can be just as abstract as inanity."
You havent seen anything yet. Eraserhead is the biggest mindfuck of all time and will have nightmares for weeks. Its not even scary. Its just incredibly disturbing.
And The Lost Highway is another great one, lots of duality too. Here a guy is arrested for a crime he didnt commit, has a seizure in jail and wakes up as someone completely different. New Identity, new look, different actor. And he starts living he becomes the killer, trying to stay out of trouble while the man who was falsely arrested is out trying to prove his innocence, but its the same guy, yet it isnt.
Crazy.
And Wild At Heart is great too. Its a retelling of The Wizard of Oz, where Dorothy is Nicholas Cage, going on a killing spree while trying to make it to this great crazy town. The highway is "the yellow brick road" Prison is Kansas. The world is Oz. Really great stuff.
The only Lynch movie I have yet to see is Insland Empire. Its 3.5 hrs long. The human body wasnt built to withstand that much Lynch.

I actually have seen The Elephant Man. I didn't feel very manly after that movie was over. In fact, not at all.
And I do like Lynch movies, even if I hardly understand what the hell they are about. And Twin Peaks is still one of the greatest shows ever filmed, even with the incredible mindfuck ending.

Yeah, but it was meant to continue. Sadly corporate greed over quality cornered Lynch and the show fell apart.
The movie was great too. Really haunting. The last 5 minutes scare the crap out of me....this scene:
its so hard to hear, but the monkey whispers "Judy"...as if its trying to scream, but because as David Bowie said earlier, its stuck in a dream, so like a nightmare, it can only whisper:
There is like 90 min of extra footage from FWWM thats help up in red tape. its the holy grail of this amazing series.
