Movies and Cinemas
General thread for all discussion on movies here! Anyone see any good movies lately, or any in general? Any movies that you want to see? Also, what is/are your favorite movie(s) and what are your favorite genres?
Recently, I saw The Fight Club on G4's "Movies That Don't Suck." Well, it would have to be THE GREATEST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN! The movie had a great plot with an even greater plot twist, the main characters felt dynamic and defined, great ending, and great theme. Movie stars Edward Norton, Brad Pitt, and some chick, who's name escapes me. Since then, it just so happens that I happen to catch movies on starring one of them. Saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith followed by The Italian Job, which both are other favorites of mine.
I also saw 007: Quantum of Solace in theaters. It was ok. Story and plot were hard to follow, but it had some great action scenes. And there was Eagle Eye. That one was good. It the kind of movie that's fast paced throughout the whole movie, and a good story to it.
Other favorites are: (that I can remember)
There Will Be Blood - Great Story. (Also has Paul Dano in it - It took me to hearing him scream in the movie to figure out where I've seen him before...)
Little Miss Sunshine - Hella fuckin funny, great actors. (Fun Fact: Paul Dano plays Dwayne.)
3:10 to Yuma -Another great story
The Bourne movies
Pirates of the Caribbean
Ferris Beuler's Day Off - a classic
Ocean's 11
007
Superbad
Jackass
Die Hard
My favorite genres are typically high action movies, comedy, and movies with a great plot and story. I've kinda lightened up on the Comedy a little, they make me laugh and I just never see most of them as a "great" movie, but well worth watching. Also, I don't care for horror. The genre doesn't scare me, and the movies tend to suck anyways.

First.
I don't go out and watch as many movies as most, but here goes.
Dogma
Harold and Maude
The Patriot
The Mummy
Jesus Christ Superstar
The first Pirates of the Caribean
Hunt for Red October
The Sting
Phantom of the Opera
Original Star Wars Trilogy
Master and Commander
Kung Fu Hustle
I'll think of more later, as well as post something more interesting than a list. I'm registering for college classes for the spring semester right now.

Re: Movies and Cinemas
Well I can name a few favourites as I have way too many
The Dark Knight
The Crow (Brandon Lee is the Man, it sucks that he died)
Superbad
Slap Shot
No Country for Old Men
Burn After Reading
Gangster #1
Star Wars Trilogy (Original)
30 Days of Night
Rumble in the Bronx
Brother
Zodiach
Everything Tarantino
The Rock
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Foreign Films:
Versus
Ichi the Killer
Ran
Humanist
Memories of Murder (Amazing drama about Korea's first serial killer)
Audition
Oldman
Shinobi
Shaolin Soccer
And many others
As far as genres:
Horror (Be it good or cheesy (old horrors like Jason, etc) as long as it's not stupid (ie most of todays stuff)), Comedy, Action, and biography style movies.
As far as what I'm looking forard to seeing it'd have to be "The Wrestler" starring Mickey Rourke. Looks absolutely fantastic

Re: Movies and Cinemas
Big Lebowski is their most quotable, though.
"This is a very complicated case, Maude. You know, a lotta ins, a lotta outs, a lotta what-have-yous. And, uh, lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old Duder's head."
"Saturday, Donny, is Shabbas, the Jewish day of rest. That means I don't work, I don't drive a car, I don't fuckin' ride in a car, I don't handle money, I don't turn on the oven and I sure as shit don't fucking roll!"
"You said it, man. Nobody fucks with The Jesus."

Watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall with my folks (LOL). It was pretty funny and worth the laughs. Just stick to watching it with friends. Oh, and contains frontal nudity.

Re: Movies and Cinemas
Lots of good movies have been said already. And so I add mine to the ever growing list, as well as repeating some.
Shaun of the Dead (England and zombies, what more do you want? "Kill the Queen!")
Pulp Fiction ("English motherfucker! Do you speak it?!" "Aw man, I shot (forgot the name) in the head!")
Red vs Blue Seasons 1-5; Reconstruction (think of each episode as a chapter and each season is a movie)
Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb ("Gentlemen! There's no fighting in the War Room!")
The Dark Knight (Why so serious indeed.)
Jurassic Park
I Am Legend (just saw it the other day, pretty good)
Austin Powers
and there's probably some more.
