And no.

I spent most of my life in forced isolation, between helicopter parents and a terrible boarding school I went to with severe punishments for any...i repeat...ANY physical contact. Even a handshake was out of line....and if you shook hands with a girl, fergettaboutit.

So when I got to college, I was on my own for the first time, overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. Since then, I haven't gotten it right.

I have spent the past several years in deliberate isolation, and because of my lack of luck, compiled with my lack of experience, I just see a pretty girl and fap to her when I get home. I dont have the courage OR the energy to persue it. The thought of having my feelings returned, of being in love, of simply being desired, where someone is like "hey, that guy is hot".....its unbearable and impossible.

I have girl friends who say im cute, sweet, funny, smart, attractive, awesome even....but it means nothing to me, because when I suggest dating or just fooling around with no strings attached, they backpedal on their encouragements.

when nobody can reaffirm your existence, its hard to be optimistic.

Its not about girls anymore. Its about basic physical contact. The most fundamental human need, behind oxygen. And I can't even get that.

So being alone is actually a wonderful thing.

As for the basic human need, I found it much easier to deal with before losing it as you never really knew what you were missing. Now it totally sucks at times. Anyways I'm sure you'll eventually find someone. Sorry that I can't be of more help

You have no idea man. Im bitter, angry, resentful. Its like I'm a starving African child, begging for single grain of rice (like a hug), and the film crew doing the charity commercial is pigging out at the snack truck...and I have to watch everyone do that.

I know what youre saying, and no offense, but I kinda resent the statement that I don't really understand loneliness.

Ive gone YEARS without any...not even compliments from people I hardly know.

I am only given those kind words from people who have known me for years. So in the rare cases when someone does say "dude, youre awesome", I cant help but take it seriously.

I am the guy who would appreciate affecion more than anyone else alive, and I woudnt take it for granted, but girls dont want that. Im too nice. Im a good guy.

Quite frankly, as painful as it is, its not worth it. But I will say this: YOU don't know what loneliness is. And if you don't believe me, try sitting in my chair.

Don't hug, dont kiss. Don't fuck. Don't hold hands. Dont offer compliments. Don't talk to anyone. Don't recieve compliments. See how long you can go. I dare you. Go for 5 years. Then an additional 22.

Everyone gets unlimited whatever, and since im 27, girls arent interested in an inexperienced guy like me, so they are turned off.

I mean...yes, i have had sex. but...it was with a girl who didnt give a shit about me, and i hated every minute of it. it didnt even feel good. physically it was hard to be aroused because all she did was insult me the whole time and tell me she didnt like me and she was using me, and emotionally, at first, it was great because I was receiving something I had been wanting for a while, but even during it, i wasnt enjoying it physically, and it didnt take long to realize that this is what i have to expect, i cant do better.

girls have not given me a fair chance. so fuck 'em. im done with that shit. being alone, being a hermit...thats the way to go.

I never said you didn't understand loneliness. Now as far as saying I don't know loneliness, not on your level. I never said I had, but the very basic bit in regards to women I had up until I was 20. Just over a year ago. Think about it this way, you were isolated by rules. My schools never had those rules, it was the people who kept me isolated. Now I'm not saying I have it worst then you do, because I don't but I was making a general statement.

There's more then one type of loneliness, keep that in mind. So before you go trying to make it sound like you're the only one who has things hard, consider this. Everyone has different hardships and usually it'll be based around everyones own lives. We're all human beings and no one is better then anyone else. Everyone suffers from something regardless of how "successful" or "good" they are.

I'm going to London so I can go to Scotland and pick up hawt Scottish guys with my adorable Australian accent.

...nah I'm just going as a holiday, my aunt's with the Australian embassy and she's stationed in London at the moment until about the middle of 2011, I think, so I figured I'd go over and visit her. I've always wanted to go to London. Though unfortunately, my mum doesn't think I'll be mature enough to go alone so I have to take my dad. Who I'm going to kill partway through the trip, knowing me.

On that note, anyone else think accents are attractive? I'd love to date a guy with a European accent. Especially Scottish. (Yeah, I know that sounds picky.)

I think it depends on the accent. Personally I find French, Scottish and Irish accents to be definate turn ons. Especially Irish for some reason. Never heard an Australian accent really so I can't say. Not a fan of the American accents I've heard so far lol.

I know this one girl, she's 21, and she looks like she's 15. Really cute, and really hot. She's single right now, and says she's hopeless because there are no guys available (big fat lie mistake). Me and another guy flat out say we'd date her, and another guy even says "See? Two candidates right there! You are just too demanding!". I dunno about the other guy, but I didn't even get a hint of a chance ever since. It's like I never even said that.

I remember having a massive crush on this guy at my workplace, and one manager was trying to set us up...
...only to have him tell me later that he thought I was getting the wrong idea and that he only saw me as a friend.
It's really annoying, cause now he tells me that he's always found me pretty attractive cause I'm a nerd girl and all. Maybe he wasn't interested cause he only likes older Asian chicks, idk.
