Some people just can't handle "up in the grill!" It's cool. Except when they think we should be the ones changing!

It IS cool and everyone is entitled to their opinion.

As concerns the pace of the story, I'm thinking there are some misconceptions as to what amounts to a story in the first place. This is a dark mystery adventure, not a dense cavalcade of plot twists. Luigi's journey through the underbelly of the Mushroom Kingdom as he gathers clues is the story.

As this forum's speculation threads show, there are many more plot elements in play in this story than just "someone kidnapped someone else" and "someone is eating people." I'm saying this might not be the show for you because you seem to be looking for something more "actiony" and less explorative.

To comment on the pacing:

When I think about it, after 8 episodes, the total length of TWBB will probably be about an hour 30 min or less, which is about the length of a short movie. So it is, for the most part, good pacing.

Basically, everything I'm about to say has been, more or less, covered.

Luigi is the main protagonist. That doesn't make him the only good guy. Peach, while not being the best ruler of her kingdom, is trying to restore the Kingdom back to its glory. Samus is helping Luigi in every way she can. Every way... Red is, in his own way, helping Luigi by being one of the few untainted characters, almost pure in this light. I could go on, but I am lazy, so I won't. Razz

Next is the talk of a slow plot line. Nope, I'm pretty sure its bang on. If the episodes were half an hour long, we'd just be done Episode 1, so I think this is a pretty steady pace to be progressing at. Also, the plot line is secondary to character development.

Although there is one thing that bugs me; Zelda has no character so far. She's a bitch that hangs out with Link is all that I can gather. But I'm sure the creators know what they are doing.

At about 12 minutes per episode, all eight episodes would give us 96 minutes.
Most episodes go over this, but there are credits at the end.

This bugged me a bit too, but I'm guessing as Jo Ellen is also involved in the costume and make-up for the show I doubt they are also burdening her with a big role. I mean if there are bigger plans down the road for Zelda than I won't complain, I can just see why there might not be.

You also have to count for ep 1 being about 8 minutes, and count for the fact that the 12 minutes also include the credits and escapist thing in the beginning..

I did. Most episodes run about 13 minutes, and I was sort of counting on the last episode being extra long.

Either way, pacing is good and the total length will be fine.
There, it has been decided.

I think people concerned about the pacing have somehow forgotten this is a film noir mystery story. I studied film noir mysteries here at UCLA and I promise that Brawl is being very faithful to its source material in terms of plot development (and misogyny!)

I understand some people are expecting to see more explosions in place of atmosphere and tension building, but that's just not this show.

At first I was curious as to why Luigi was generally the main protagonist of the story but the more I thought about it, the more it made sense.

It's much more of a shocker and gets more of a reaction out of people to see Nintendo's posterboy Mario going on mixed drug and alcohol binges and swearing like a sailor, that and Luigi seldom gets the spotlight in anything (aside from Luigi's Mansion). Most times his simply the "Player 2" add-on.

That sentiment was shown in Episode 3 as well when Pit was razzing him about not being so super without his brother around. I think Luigi was a good choice as the main character. Very Happy

To those complaining about Zelda not playing much of a role: When has she ever really played a large role again?

Oh, it was around the same time that Peach and Luigi did.

Kinda ironic given that all the games are named after her yet she is at the most a minor role character. bounce lol That always amused me.

Maybe Zelda had a hand in Peaches kidnapping... can't have two princesses of different families ruling the one nation. Suspect

What was that CDI game? Wand of Gamelon?

and I like how the movie is going, for the most part, yea, action is cool and everything, but kinda pointless without any story backing it up. I like the detective thing Luigi is up to

Oh lord....what have I done, lol, I completely forgot about that time period a long time ago where the whole "YOU DARE BRING LIGHT INTO MY LAIR?!?!" thing was going around the forum, it was funny. I think Smash killed it though, can't remember exactly and can't be bothered to go try to dredge it up
