This would displease me. Megaman series? good. 8-bit? bad. Making a new MM game in 8-bit in these days is just a cop-out to get some easy money for a small time investment, and a cheap development. It disgusts me.

Not exactly. I mean, I don't think 8-bit is BAD, but I definitely don't think it's better to go backwards than forwards. But I agree too. I always say that graphics don't make a good game, but they seem to be going by that logic, only in reverse.

well, I didn't mean it as in, games in 8-bit graphics all suck, it's just that in this day and age, it seems a little stupid to me to go backwards like that.

What? Not its not. Its a throwback to the classic megaman. The 8 bit megaman games are easily the best and most popular in the series.

So are you implying graphics define the quality of a game?

I think he's more implying that the 8 bit Megaman games were simply better liked...
But really I don't think there should be a Megaman 10, I wanted them to end it with Megaman 9 and bridge the gap between Megaman and Megaman X finally....
But nooooooooooooooo.............

Or maybe Megaman Legends 3
Or Megaman ZX 3
I want more of the newer series, I don't honestly care about the old ones....

I'm not too big of a Megaman fan, my friend owned Megaman Zero 1 and 2 on GBA and that's how I got into the series.
I recently bought Mega Man 2 on VC and really enjoyed it, and yah it was tough, but I was able to beat all 9 of the bosses. Never beat the dragon though. : (
I'm thinking of getting 1, 3, or 9 on Wii too, which would you all recommend?

3 was by far the best, and had the best music and opening theme.
I dont get all the love for 2 really. Didnt seem that special to me. I can never forget characters like Snake Man and Top Man. I also absolutely hated MM4.

I can't wait for 10 to come out, and yes, I'm buying it just for Sheep Man! Today's games need more awesomely cheesy named bosses.

As far as the series go...the original series followed by the X series. X could have surpassed the originals by now, but Capcom just got lazy and the series turned to crap around 5 and 6.

I wish they'd hurry with 10 though. The one thing that amused me most about 9 was listening to most of the newer gamers in the Gamefaqs forums and newer game reviewers on sites and magazines cry about how hard it was. Really?

This right here. I <3 the X/Zero/ZX line of games, they're fast, the animation is more on the anime side & they still retain their difficulties, but you know there's always a move, weapon or stategy to get through that difficult part you're stuck in. If all else fails, then its just about tweaking up your skill. & I didn't believe it when you said it, 'Sheepman'? So I Googled it & lo & behold......Sheepman. Lawl. Razz

Well? 9 WAS hard compared to the rest of the series, heh. I found it amusing though, easy mode games aren't all that fun all the time. I like being challenged, though I won't lie, I thought the demon boss was just a bit absurd.

You know, if you look at what they've done, the classic MM games were great platformers. And I think someone disliked the .EXE series? >.> Well, It's NOT Megaman in the Classic sense of the name, but it's a solid RPG... It's just not Megaman. but you know what? The game was SUPPOSED to be a one-shot tribute game, and they would let the series die peacefully. But... It got too popular. The EXE series is one of my favorite RPG series, (right up there with LoZ and GS) but what ruined it for me was starforce on the DS.

And another thing. The guy who complained that MM9 sucks because it's in 8-bit instead of something better? Go hug an Xbox, you Graphics Whore. Gameplay>>>>>>>>>>>>>Graphics.

Personally, I think that "Gameplay > Graphics" (which I agree with) serves as an argument against MM9's choice too... you see, lot's of people are acting like Megaman HAS to be 8-bit to be good (I'm not saying it's your case), when gameplay quality shouldn't have anything to do with graphics. I mean, if they can make a good 8-bit game, why can't they make a good 16-bit/32-bit/3D/what-the-fuck-ever game too? I've seen the comment you're talking about, and thought I don't quite remember who exactly it was, I think this was his/her point. If it wasn't... well, it definitely is MY point. Razz
