Items are cool. Just people that hide behind them and use no other means of fighting unless it's with an item or throwing an item are bigger pussies. I like the items in melee better than in Brawl, though.

Last year, I was playing Brawl with some guys in an anime convention, and items were on. Smart Bombs kept appearing everywhere, in the most inconvenient moments and places (like in between two guys that were about to attack each other), and the players and crowd started getting pissed off. Then we discussed and agreed to have everything off but Smash Balls and ATs.

That's kinda random, but it still has something to do with the current topic, so...

When playing Melee, I personally prefer items off, especially when training, so that I don't grow dependent on them, but I’ll gladly switch them back on anytime.

People who don't allow items usually do so out of an inability to adapt to the frenetic randomness of the gameplay that Brawl is based upon. So fuck em. But a good No Item match is welcome from time to time.

Speaking of this game, what's up with Brawl+? I wanna play that shit. Brawl's way too slow on its own!

It's true though, brawl is much slower and floatier than melee. I prefer not to bitch though, and take the changes in stride.

You need Homebrew for Wii, man. Search Twilighthack, and follow the steps to download it on your SD card and go from there. Wait, what's your Wii's firmware. If it's above 3.4 then I don't think you can do it, but Sonix or Warchamp may know a work around.

If it's above 3.4, you're on 4.0 and you need to use the Bannerbomb exploit, Bannerbomb also works for below 4.0 as far as I know

Yeah, sorry! My fault! I didn't mean to turn it into a discussion on tiers and the overall Brawl experience. Sorry about that, lulz. ><;

((Although Matt really started it when he mentioned that he lieked playing Brawl, not Melee 1.5, but if I mention that, Paul will rag on him and they'll just get into a big ol' fight. And I like Matt. I don't want him to get his ass whipped. ^^;))

Yeah I know everything as well, I bought a pirate version at a korean video store before leaving. Those korean's can get you whatever you want. Anyone want a copy of Transformers 3? I also got a copy of your next project if you want you can have one that way you don't need to even film it. They got it the moment you even thought about it.

I was gonna buy that one, but I saw that they already had Deathly Hallows pt 1 and 2, so I decided that it'd be better to use my money on that. That and the fourth and fifth seasons of Psych.

Do I have to rant again now?

In short the tier list is not supposed to be telling you to only play top tier characters or that if you play them you will always win, it is showing potential and the final result will always come down to skill. No items and neutral stages is a perfectly fair rule in competitive play where you are trying to remove as much luck from the equation as possible and bring as much of the outcome down to skill.

Nu. Always playing on Final D. is just what tourny NOOBS, who have never been to a tourny, do. The list of neutrals is more than just one and not wanting items is perfectly legit. I for one despise items. It seems everything time they're on I get gayed. Like attacking just as a bomb spawns in my face or all the Dragoon parts conviently spawning next to my opponent or attacking the Smash Orb which then glides over to my opponent who breathes on it and breaks it or being affected by the Lightning Bolt or Super/Poison 'Shroom wearing off while I'm trying to recover or ...

No items mean less BS. I'm cool if my opponent kills me but I have much less fun when it's just the game killing me and ESPECIALLY if the other person thinks they're better because of it. Even friendly games end up being competitive sometimes because that's just how people are and items, for the most part, aren't competitive.

Items can be fun though, don't get me wrong. Super/Poison 'Shrooms and Lightning Bolts is epic. Smoke Balls and Deku Nuts. Special Brawl Giant with Jigglypuff or Luigi and Smash Orbs.

I'm just going to come clean and say that I have not once played Brawl. I am pretty sure I would be absolute shit at it and I would probably end up picking the cheapest character and button mashing the shit out of it.
However I defy anyone to best me at puzzle fighter. I will fuck you up, no joke.
