Sooo talk me out of this.

Sunday Warped Tour is playing nearby, and I really really really am dying to see some of the bands. So much that I'm tempted to drive out there in the morning alone for a few hours to see what I can before the Gallery event in Santa Monica. Note I've never been to a music festival before, just regular concerts.

PLEASE CONVINCE ME THIS IS A BAD IDEA.

the event goes until 2am, you can easily spend the day at warped and still come back for the event in the evening.

Figure out when your bands are playing, and see if the schedules match up. If not, then see them next time.

Rise Against isn't going to be there, sadness =( AND I was planning ot see them in Vegas next month, but I have jury duty that day! Wah.

Yeah I wanted to at least see if the band schedule worked out, but it doesn't seem to be listed anywhere... I was under the impression you don't find out the times for the bands until you get to the festival?

All this aside from the fact that I'm a girl who's never been to this before going alone

Girl.. going to a music concert.. by herself?

If your not for the 3 greens don't go:
- Am I comfortable going by myself (if your nervous the whole event you won't enjoy it much)
- Can I safely confirm to myself I'll be able to drive home without being too tired (a 15 minute powernap could save your life)
- Is the price for admission worth hearing the bands (I don't know what bands are there or what bands you like )

This is good advice. I almost went last year, but when I realized I would just be paying too much just to see mc chris, I decided against it.

It's only $30, and I'd pay that JUST to see Thrice (let alone the tons of other bands I want to see). The drive is no big deal either, just an hour.

Hmm.. that in mind your not making this easy to convince you not to go... so how about the alternative of staring at a pic of a guy in a pink shirt?

Go for it, you only live once right? ;P 'sides, you know the distance is about an hour away so you can gauge the amount of time it would take to go back & forth (just remember the 'concert' traffic), the bands who are playing & that you want to see, & if its possible, maybe there's a phone number or internet schedule posting of the bands playing. Did a quick Google search for Warped Tour band lists & found Thrice, but ya, no times posted :/ IMO its better to go & say you tried then not going & living with that empty 'Oh man, I could have been there....' feeling Worse case scenario, you see some other bands (some might be pretty cool too) & you head up to the TWBB event afterwards, right? : D

Well will this warped tour be playing near by again anytime soon? If so you could always go then.

Haha =p That's the thing too, it ends in LA as well, and I can easily see it then. It's just at the ennnnnd of August and I want to see it nowwwwwwwwww too!

lol, well you could go, check it out until when you'd have to leave then whoever you miss you'll catch in August. Does that help your decision?

Honestly I'm just scared about the other people there being crazy with moshing and stuff. I don't imagine there being many "safe" places to stand near the stages =/
