Kirby Super Star Ultra, anyone?
So, who here's played this awesome DS game? I have, and (not playing the SNES original, blasphemy I know) I believe it's made of such sheer awesome, I have to make a thread about it here.
Sooooo, who has played it? For those who played the original, is it a good port, or does it mess some things up? What do you think of the new games (MetaKnightmare Ultra and The Real Arena)? Any other thoughts?
Go ahead, rant and rave about the game! =D

Playing a Kirby remake as opposed to the far inferior original? Shame on you! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to Nightmare in Dreamland. Best. Remake. Ever.

Eh, I may get it. It's not near my top priority of games to play and I'm kinda lacking money to just pull out and spend. Is it better than Squeak Squad?

Kirby Superstar if AMAZING.
Far superior a remake than Nightmare in Dreamland which doesn't really offer much versus KSSU. I mean... Bonus content-wise, KSSU is just overall a lot more pleasing.
Anyway, the game is great. True Arena and Helper to Hero mode are fucking great. I couldn't put the DS down until I beat it with every Helper.
btw, TAC is fucking cheap for having such a guard! Bio Spark was my favorite to use.
Anyway, I loved original KSS to death and the remake just adds a lot of worthwhile shit. True Arena is quite the challenge and the new bosses are fucking awesome.
Fucking worth my bucks.

Jesus, of course KSS is better than Squeak Squad. I found Squeak Squad to be so uninspired and unimpressive compared to past Kirby games. When it comes to Kirby games, KSS also happens to be the best there is! Kirby Super Star Ultra is a remake of the classic Kirby Super Star game for the SNES. Unlike later Kirby games where for some reason Kirby does one move per power, In KSS Kirby has movesets for all his powers. KSS's controls and powers are what made that game the best. Want challenge? test your strength in Arena with Suplex or Wing! Want fantastic co-op? You could create partners to be your ally for 2 player action! It's pretty much the game that also helped inspire the controls for the Smash Brothers Series (not to mention some boses, etc)
KSS is just a fantastic game and KSSU is EVEN BETTER. You have your Helper to Hero mode, you have your slew of new bosses, you have the HARD AS CRAP TRUE ARENA MODE, etc.
GET IT MAN.

I came to this forum to ask if anyone had played this yet and if it was good. The original is the best game ever, so I'm psyched about this for sure!

I'm glad to see that a lot of other people have liked it. I let a friend of my play it, and he said he didn't like the updated animations... I dunno what's up with that, but... yeah.
I'm stuck in the Arena though. Not the REAL Arena, no, just the normal one. ;-; I sure do suck at health manangment.

Haha, sorry. I love that darn game so much. Also, the games are anything but totally innocent. You ever see the bosses for Kirby? AWESOME.

lol, what? I thought the new animations were incredibly charming. I love the nice additional touches such as Dedede's experessions in Gourmet Race. I thought it was great. I also loved the way the levels look in that game. Both KSS and KSSU look great IMO. KSS looked really fantastic at the time and even now. I guess it's just a matter of taste... but regardless of the look the bonus material is just worth it.

Does the game allow me to co-op in the main story, without having to buy another cartridge? If I can then I'll probably get it.
Since I found the original more enjoyable playing with a friend.

Unfortunately, you can only play Spring Breeze co-op with no cartridge, and the second player has to look over the first player's shoulder to play... Kinda weird, I must say... it's my only real disappointment with the game.Sypher (AP) wrote:Does the game allow me to co-op in the main story, without having to buy another cartridge? As for my friend... I didn't say he was sane or anything, just that he thought that.

Then I guess I won't be getting it until it drops in price.

Best multiplayer game for the DS: Mario Kart. Seriously, I think it's the best of the series.

Re: Kirby Super Star Ultra, anyone?
Anyone beat True Arena with a power that ISN'T Rock? Shit is hard.
I'm trying my hardest to do a no power run in True Arena at the moment as well as a Ninja run and Suplex Run.
Galacta Knight gives me the most trouble. I figured I could spam rapid B attacks and Down B stomp his ass whenever he missed for me... but he floats alittle off the ground so my ninja stars don't do anything.... THEY MISS HIM COMPLETELY...
With Suplex it's even more irritating.... Down B suplex just leads to him jumping up and hitting me.

I may have to agree with Gorblax on Mario Kart DS. Prime Metroid Prime Hunters was also pretty good.
