I'm willing to bet that the average life expectancy for retired rugby players is a lot longer than retired American football players too.

Higher than pro wrestlers too.... I say this as a wrestler passed away of a heart attack at 45 recently

Technically I don't see why Football is named Football. Why the hell wasn't soccer named Football?

It was.

But yeah handegg makes a lot more sense there. I'm also fond of the name tackleball.

Yay for another country being as stupid as we are! *Hi-fives* *misses*

But yeah, I insult Football as much as any nerd, but I actually have season tickets with my dad and Uncles.

I've also got season tickets through my grandpa. For me football > handegg but I enjoy both sports.

What's your team Minby?

Mine are the Raiders, the Niners, the Colts, and sometimes the Bengals. We don't live near any teams, so we picked the closest two to where we live now and the closest two from where we used to live.

I'm a Jets guy myself. My family's been Jets fans since before I was born and I was just born with it. Second team to ever win a Superbowl, haven't won one since, lol.

I could totally get behind calling it tackleball.

Also, my family doesn't have a team to root for with handegg, but I like the Chargers. My dad was a Raider's fan until he realized that he had a job, doesn't have a tattoo, and has never been arrested... That and the fans have a bad rep for being violent. (Don't go to Oakland if you plan on cheering for the other team. That's suicide.)

Yeah, but that challenge in the fourth was a bad call. The ball bounced off the guy's hands, and then he gained control.

But yeah, it was a good game to start off the season.

So I've been a big fun of the San Francisco Giants since I was a kid, and I'm excited that they're in the playoffs. They already beat the Braves in the first round and beat the Phillies tonight for game 1.

But anyway, my friend posted this awesome vid on Facebook, so I'm sharing it here.

I need to lay off the drugs... I just had this weird dream where the Giants scored 20 runs in the first two games of the World Series.

Odd, me too.

Probably because I just got back from California and everyone there is either Giants-crazy, or scornful of the former.

GIANTS WON THE WORLD SERIES!

I am a-so happy. They're first win since moving to San Francisco. And Texas didn't even have the decency to let the Giants win at home. That or the Giants could wait that long.

Also, ESPN can suck it. The Giants were picked as the underdog team all season, and the "experts" all had predictions about the season and post-season that the Giants would not win. They beat the Padres, Braves, Phillies, and now Rangers (4 games to 1 too).

The following are two examples (stolen from a friend's FB page).

EPIC FAIL by Canada tonight. 3-0 lead going into the 3rd and the Russians came back and score 5 unanswered goals to win the Gold 5-3...

PATHETIC!
