DO WANT! That has got to be the most awesome thing I've ever seen. I can't even believe someone can be that brilliant.
I concur with your statement that it would be quite humorous.

Hes done other insane unthinkable things with technology and science and stuff. I dont know where he gets it, but Im a retard. I dont really possess any worthy skills, but Im glad you guys like it. I actually went ahead and submitted it to RetroGamer in case they would want to put it as a last-page blurb or something.

I remember one Thanksgiving, I was on it for about 15 hours. I played Road Rash from dawn till bedtime. I tried playing Altered Beast on it too, but it really only worked well on motorcycle/racing games.

Out of curiosity, did he already figure that it would probably work when he set it up, or was it all purely experimental? I always have to laugh when people do things like this because I always imagine myself trying to do the same, only the outcome involves a little less awesome and a lot more electrocution.

He had a lab in our basement that had alot of unused space, and it was connected to the garage. We used to go to an arcade where they had a plastic fiberglass unit that was shaped like a motorcycle and played the same game, but the arcade version. It leaned from side to side though. After seeing that, he had a rough idea of how to do it. He set it up in the basement very crudely with all the wires exposed. Once it worked and he tested it on himelf, my brother, me and my mom (she even played on it sometimes) he hauled it upstairs--which wasnt hard because we had a path that led to the upstairs--and set it up for real, just with the wires hidden.

After a while it was a little embarassing because when the FedEx guy saw it or the pizza delivery guy, they would always ask about it and explaining it over and over was a little...made me sound like I was a badass show-off. But I thought you guys would appreciate.

He used to do design and mechanical engineering work for the DoD and has a good handle on systems and electronics and all that jazz.

So he didnt just wing it, but at the same time he pretty much knew what he wanted to do. When it comes to this kind of stuff, he doesn't make mistakes. When I had my car, it was a used SUV, given to me by a coworker...it was basically free. It was in crap condition, but it ran. The hood-release cable was damaged so it took two people to pop it open (one to hold the handle, the other to lift) and the gas cap door also had the same problem. I told him, and he fixed both in a matter of 20 minutes with nothing more than spare pieces he had in his shop.

The things he can do would impress Jesus. But like I said earlier, I believe it was Nissan who had an XBOX car that was a regular car, but when turned off, the pedals and wheel worked as a game controller and it was a big deal for alot of people...but it seemed passe to me at that point.

For me, it is one of the best RPGs ever. If you get a chance, pick it up. It's on the DS and PSX now. Originally for the SNES.
