Sonic CD.

It was the first videogame I ever played... so you could imagine some nostalgia there. I remember me and my sister spending hours getting past... Wacky Workbench, I think the stage was called. After that we pretty much demolished the last boss. I think I only managed to beat the game three or four times?

The bonus stages were a pain in the ass with their newfangled 3D-ness. I could only clear the first three or so before they became too complex and I'd run into the water and kill the timer. Although, I always enjoyed the one bonus stage with the trippy rainbow sky..

I also loved stopping to watch the animated intro every time I powered the game up. Partly because it was freaking Sonic, second because I LOVED the song.

You could imagine how many bricks were shat when I heard Sonic Boom in Brawl for the first time. =D

Other than that, Ecco the Dolphin. Second game I ever played. We were both really young though, so a lot of the puzzles escaped our tiny little minds. We never did manage to make it into the past and get that orb or whatever it was for that giant talking strand of DNA?... Still, I was a dolphin nut in those days, so randomly frolicking around and killing sharks AS A DOLPHIN was freaking amazing.

Awesome game. Loved Rambi. A name full of everything awesome.

I'm just so sad that they gave Expresso and Winky the axe for the rest of the games, myself.

OMG ECCO!
I had that for the PC. I actually managed to beat it o_o; But yeah, puzzles, I had to get some help with those.

...I wonder if it's still in my house...

Alright, playing it again.

It just made me realise that this was the one game that really, truly sums up my childhood gaming experience.

yeah, the early pokemon games.....pokemon blue was really magical for me. for A YEAR AND A HALF my little brother and I saved our money, never buying anything fun or sweet (very hard considering we were only 7 or so), just to buy a gameboy color with pokemon.

Did we have other games then pokemon red and blue? yes. did we play them? no

It sometimes takes playing an old game to realize how much it affected you as a kid.

That game was odd. One of the wonkiest leveling systems, but not uncommon. "What's that? You want more HP? Go melee something with your staff." So on and so forth. It was a nice game, but it had one little trick. Spam Earth element. Get to the last boss, and break him by spamming earth.

The Legend of Zelda. I'd build dungeons out of sofa cushions; I'd use those diamond-shaped picture frame stands as swords; and anything crescent-shaped made a decent boomerang.

four way tie between

Super Mario Bros. - Mario 64 - Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening - Ocarina of Time

Actually, I love MArio more, but the Zelda games are by far the best games ever created. Anyone who argues against Ocarina of Time can suck it.

I remember in 1st grade, playing SMB and pausing and shutting off the TV while I went to school. Then I would come home turn on the tv and unpause and continue the fun
