Ha ha. I wonder how many ears have bled because of this. Here's my apology.

One of my Halo junkie friends asked why Zelda was at the top of so many Best Games of All Time lists. So I showed him that vid. He saw the light.

That's not Zelda, though. Zelda is finally getting the hookshot in the fucking water temple. Zelda is pointing out grammatical errors in the original NES game. Zelda is realizing you keep getting your ass handed to you by a boss because you're missing a glaringly obvious weakness. Not a bunch of pretty cutscenes.

I was trying to convey the feeling of epicness, but your right. He's not interested in games that require you to use your head, so I decided to go with something he could relate to.

Whatever happened to the Fierce Deity? He was so freaking popular with the fans, I'm surprised Nintendo never brought that bit back.

By that logic, Mother 3 would have gotten an official US release years ago. But, yeah, I would like to see the relationship between Majora's Mask and the Fierce Diety explained.

It would be pretty nifty if there was something more to it then becoming an unstoppable killing machine...though, that IS pretty fun. I had to go back and beat the final boss again afterward without using Fierce Deity to do it the, y'know, legit way. Definitely a lot harder.

Hell no. Mother's fanbase is a FAR smaller demographic than the Zelda fanbase.

Mother's fanbase is a cult following, It's a very small group of people who are extremely dedicated to the cause.

Meh, I concede. But wasn't the reaction to Majora's Mask dramatically less enthusiastic than it was to Ocarina? In general, I mean.

Yeah, Oot was a tough act to follow.
It might not have been such a bad idea to have ended the series right there, If you think about it.

You can compare it to Super Mario 64. It, being one of the first action games in 3-D, set the standard for the rest. Problem being? It set the bar REALLY high, so a lot of good games paled in comparison.
