Bad choice for a first game personally.

Well, this was the first Zelda a friend of mine played, and she liked it a lot, so maybe it's not really that bad of a choice... but milla, always remember to check other Zeldas, don't base your whole judgment on this one. Even if it's a good judgment, as chances are you'll like the other ones better.

Yeah, Because not only does she have a N64/Wii and a Gamecube Wii, Wind Waker is actually hard to find nowadays in Aus.

Hell, I was amazed to find a Melee here.

When I preordered WW, I got OoT and OoT: Master Quest (same game, just harder, never really played it actually). Traded it in when i got the collector's disc you got from my uncle.

I'm contemplating buying a second-hand GameCube.

Emphasis on the contemplating. I may as well get a Wii but I figure I'll wait until after Christmas.

I can probably get most of the handhelds on ROMs but as for the console games...no can do.

Haven't really started PH yet but why do they have to ask me which hand I use for my stylus three times? Seriously! I'M RIGHT HANDED, OKAY?

Edit: Liking it so far. Can't for the life of me do a barrel roll (well, somersault) though. D:

You know you don't need a GameCube if you get a Wii, right?
About finding games... what about buying online?
And yeah, totally try Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and The Wind Waker if you get the chance.

Wait, how is setting up the Wii a hassle? Isn't it more convenient to leave the Wii plugged in so you can play either a Wii of GC game on the fly without ever having to set up the GC? That's what I do and since I have no use for my (broken) GC, it's out in the garage whoring up all the dust in there.

1. Power on the wii.
2. Find the wiimote, even though I won't be using it for my gaming session.
3. Oh fuck where is sensor bar?
4. Untangle sensor bar wires
5. Try and move far away enough from my tiny tv for the wiimote to work
6. Select the disk channel and start game
7. Take the batteries out of my wiimote and put them back in, that this will eat up my batteries otherwise.
8. Play game

or

1. Turn on console
2. Play game

YOU decide!

Numbers 1-4 wouldn't be an issue if you just left the Wii all set up. Am I missing something here?

The first step is mandatory, you have to turn on any console. I always have to find my wiimote, as it is bound to get misplaced, and my wii and tv are on a nice little rolling tv stand, so shit gets tangled and shifts around often.

1. Never unplug wii. Then you never have to deal with 3 or 4. If you don't unplug it, how do you lose the sensor bar?
2. Wii mote is on it's charger on top of TV. So for me, this eliminates your 7.
3. Wait, is selecting the disk channel really that much of an inconvenience? Takes like 2 seconds.

then again with my POS Game Cube that I had since it launched

1. Turn on console
2. Find that it won't read the disk.
3. spin the disk, clean it again, and turn on console again.
4. repeat 3 until it reads.
5. Play game and hope an error doesnt occur.

Basically though, my GC is old as fuck so that's why it's gone to prostituting itself to dust.

Then wouldn't it be more convenient to leave 1 console connected?

First off, let me make it clear that I am posting what works for me.

Then wouldn't it be more convenient to leave 1 console connected?

1. I lose the censor bar, as I explained to blue, because shit falls off when I wheel my tv around on it's stand. My wii is always plugged in. Both of my consoles are on the rolling stand, and they are both plugged into the TV.
2. It's rad that you have a charger, but I don't, so I make do with what I have.
3. Having to wait for the disk channel is still in no way better than NOT having to wait for it.
Also, I like to leave my games on while I walk away for food or something, but it's bad for the Wii to read music files on GC disks for too long, as it does not have the ram to only scan the music once, and has to continually read the music for as long as it's playing. This is a fantastic way to wear out your wii's laser.

Yeah, that's a pretty legit reason. Wouldn't the same thing go for if you leave the game on with the GC? Cause that would explain mine >.>

According to the friend who passed this on to me, no. It's not that the wii wasn't designed to read GC music files for a normal period of time, it's jsut a bit of an oversight that means I prefer my GC games on my GC.
Also, smash, my GC gets occassional disc read errors, but it usually isn't that bad, and is only on scratched games.

heard a rumor that if spirit tracks is gonna be a succes (which it will be. its zelda), the game designer thinks of having a sky theme the next time around. Personally, I'd be very amused if they tried and steal Baten Kaitos setting.
