Skyward Sword is going to deal with the "sky people come down and create stuff" backstory from Twilight Princess.

I find that to be a common trend with the hand-held zelda games nowadays.

Sadly true...

Not a SINGLE game over in TP. And for me that's NOT a good thing.

I died in PH and TWW once at the beginning of both games if that counts for something. >.<

Btw, Amazon and Target have Spirit Tracks for only $25 if anyone wanted to save a couple dollars, I picked it up myself for that price. Very Happy

One thing I pride myself on is the fact I beat LoZ without getting the wooden sword in one play through and without getting any of the rings in another. What I need to do now is do it without getting all three and without the rings on the second quest.

My favourites gotta be ocarina of time, because it was the first 3D zelda game and the story was gripping. and wind waker, because i like the story line and there were some rofl moments. Smile

Zelda games have been relatively easy since Link's Awakening. Most later enemies do at least 1 or 2 hearts damage in ALTTP, tougher enemies do 1 heart or more in LA, OOT enemies do a little bit less, with the exception of some tough enemies like ReDeads and Iron Knuckles and ever since TWW, enemies do barely half a hearts damage. So yeah, it's been watered down over the years. The final boss should NOT be doing 1 heart maximum in TP.

In my opinion the last boss should be the hardest, most desperate battle you've faced through the game, so 1 heart max damage simply wouldn't cut it

I'm talkin 6 hearts minimum damage, immune to all weapons except the sword, quicker than you and able to counter most of your attacks, warping all over the place so you can't hit him and he'll "surprise, sneak attack!" you from behind every few seconds and you can't block anything he throws at you.

But maybe that's a bit much.

Ganondorf in OOT can do 6 hearts damage if you get attacked by his attack that takes him about 12 seconds to charge up <_<
Twinrova can do 7 and a half damage if you take their fire attack and just stand there without resisting.

Seriously though, if you want a challenge, fight Ganon in ALTTP or LOZ without getting any defense upgrades. (the tunics or rings)

The Ironknuckle's in the Spirit Temple do 2 hearts with their normal attacks, if it means anything.

I thought they all did 4, unless you get the double defense upgrade. Ah well.

But anyway, the point is, I want bosses to start doing a reasonable amount of damage again.

They've never been exactly "hard" since AOL, but now they're just TOO easy. It won't do, for me.

They're not amazingly difficult. You might die every now and then, but you die "now and then" in Super Mario 64 as well.

OOA is harder than OOS, anyway =P

...Not really. F-Zero games are hard. SM64 isn't =P

On my most recent file I'd gotten through ALTTP without dying anyway. Dunno if I could do that with OOS, since I haven't played it in ages, but I guess I probably could, being that it's easier than ALTTP on the whole.

Out of curiosity, how hard would you say the original Zelda was?

First quest is hard, second quest is very hard

If you have some maps, obviously it's a lot easier, but still reasonably tough.
