The Epic Mickey thread

Post  Blue Madness on Sun Jan 03, 2010 6:22 pm

I'm making this thread to discuss and know the opinions about Disney's dark and edgy Mickey game scheduled to be released later this year. I hope this one has a longer lifespan than my Castlevania one.

If you don't know about it, I think it's page on TV Tropes makes a very good job of telling you everything you need to know. For those that have stuff against TV Tropes, you can always try Wikipedia. For anything else, always remember that Google is your friend. Sometimes.

So, well, is anyone excited for this game? I, for one, sure am. I think the concept art looks awesome, and the idea of a Mickey game this creepy totally blew my mind. Razz

When I saw the concept art I was reminded of Okami, because of how unique it looks. I have high hopes for this game.

There are people against TV Tropes?

It looks pretty interesting anyway. And strange. =P

I have nothing against TV Tropes, but I don't like when it's posted because I WILL spend my entire evening there.

I doubt this could live up to tha standards of Okami but it will likely be decent.

It's made by Warren frickin' Spector. It can't be bad.

Yeah, the first released screenshots turned some people off, but after what I read him say about this game, I highly doubt he'll allow this game to be bad, or any less creepy than it looks like it'll be.

Looking forward to playing it and reminiscing about old Disney cartoons. I actually remember that 1937 Clock Cleaners episode from when I was a kid. I can't wait to see some of the other characters they are going to throw in there.

I prefer good old fashioned violence to whoring, personally. Very Happy

They say cartoons were too violent back then? PSH. I watched 'em all and played all the games and you don't see me running around shooting things... not illegally shooting things anyway...

So appearently Epic Mickey got some inspiration from Kingdom Hearts. Say so Gamasutra and Kotaku.

All those surprised, raise your hands. *doesn't raise*
