Yea, you must have brought up studiomdl.exe without dragging the .qc to it. Dragging the .qc to it is like an automatic compile. It is pretty cool. But the error is making me mad. >

The way our network and steam and stuff was set up at our school, that wasn't a viable option. Trust me, it was really complicated.

Wow wait, school? You did that at school? You didn't have a studiomdl.exe. It is in the Source SDK folders on the C-Drive.

Awesome sauce! I am mapping as we speak, I have been majorly procrastinating lately. But I am trying to finish that alley way section I started. I am adding decals and stuff to make it look good. Or.. as in good I mean bad.
Now what would also be awesome is signs. So we are taking a twist from the graffiti, now I am needing signs. Like for example... Toad Shop or w/e. We have stores and Inns and Hotels etc. If some of you could make signs for them that would be pretty awesome. Not too bright but average looking. Sorta neat but still needs maintenance.

The first beta of the Ivory Towers!

The one in TWBB is a LOT taller and thinner. The Nintendo sign isn't at big either so some measurements need to be changed but this is the first mock up. It also needs to be farther away which will be done hopefully when the map is finished.

Thanks to Mattox I pinpointed the problem I was having in Photoshop so now imported textures with invisible backgrounds are a piece of cake.
I mainly only work on the weekends, I will probably be done with the Hyrule district in... maybe... 2 weeks..

Ok I am starting some tunnels going now. I mean, what is Mushroom Kingdom without Tunnels and Pipes? AmIRight?
Ill look into getting the green texture for the actual Mario pipes to place in the sewers/tunnels/basements. The Tunnels will spand throughout the map to various buildings. Pics coming soon of the first tunnel!

Ok completely new idea, After playing through Half Life 2 again I see the architectural designs Valve uses to make their buildings more complex. I took note of these methods and from here on should try to do such methods to make the buildings look awesome.
Also I decided to start making Mushroom Kingdom pipes above ground that people can access. See it as a quick and easy route to the sewers/tunnels. You simple climb atop the pipe and jump in. It will take you underground, you should safely drop into water. I think it is a pretty cool idea.

I started on a new building, it looks awesome. I do need a Pipe texture though. It doesn't need to be the bright green you see in all the games it needs to be a dark green, realistic looking. I am going to see if I can find one.

Well, I dont have a texture right now but I am looking for a darker green not a lime green like you see in most of the games.

So I finished the more detailed, better looking building. You can see I used more angles for roofing instead of the plane square type of building, this keeps the building from looking too plain and just looks better.


Here is a power pole with a wire connecting to another power pole. So basically I am starting to place power lines throughout the map. This makes the map more full of detail.

Here is floor in a building that has collapsed to reveal a tunnel underneath, this tunnel will connect with the sewers and other tunnels that I will place throughout the map. I have yet to place pipes that you can jump into yet.
