It's understandable that deep down in our genes, we think... gay-ness is wrong, since it doesn't help us produce offspring to keep the species alive, but that doesn't it it's, ya know, right.

Also, generational things have a lot to do with our views, since in our grandma/grandpa's times, it wasn't socially acceptable to be openly gay. But now, it's becoming acceptabl, even thought it's not quite there yet, obviously.

EDIT: smashbro, that's pretty interesting. x3

I think this vote will show us whether or not we are ready to accept homosexuals as a society.

As a society, I don't think we're ready to accept homosexuals. But we should at least be able to tolerate.

...Sort of...26 states have thus far succesfully passed ammendments banning gay marriage. That's more than half. Just typing this has made me feel kinda empty inside.

I'm putting in a write-in vote for Stephen Colbert because I think we're screwed as a nation regardless of who wins.

I would be pissed if colbert won, he's an entertainer, not a qualified public official.

Besides being an entertainer though, he actually tends to know what he's talking about, unlike the the average American. Sad Also, his Bullshit detection powers are amazing. And define qualified. I mean, Grant, Harding, and Reagan got elected.

He runs a TV show, not a city council. And while he is talented at entertaining and making poignant observations on political topics, he has no political experience. I'm sorry if I'm not being fun, its just how i feel.

Your points are valid, but it has happened before. And you're not ruining the fun, you're being honest. Can't blame you for that.

Well, I gotta say, my views on prop 8 are kinda different now. In the Bible, it says that the origin of marriage came from God and is supposed to be between a man and a women. Now if Prop 8 were to go through, and if the government were to make something that would allow same sex couples to have the same rights as non same sex married couples, then they would give it a different name. However, I still kinda see it as something that denies the right to marry and is being discriminatory, but I also see it as immoral because in the Bible, it states that marriage is between an man and a women.

There's other stuff with it involving schools and children, but I haven't looked into that as much.

The thing with stating it immoral because it's stated in the Bible is... the US isn't supposed to have a national religion, and there's supposed to be a separation of church and state, so that no one's rights can be encroached on. While it's fairly obvious that that's kinda a vauge point, it's still supposed to be there. But, ah well. xp I'm just glad I'm not gay, so I don't haveta deal with it personally. =D

God, I'm such a horrible person.

Yes, However, marriage originated from the Christian religion. This is why the Proposition is so controversial. Also, America was founded by Christians that colonized it.

Yeah, you're right about that too. xp It's all so damn confusing. Well, I barely know what I'm tlaking about anyway, I probably shouldn't dig my hole any deeper. XDD

All I know is that I don't even wanna get married... ugh, that'll lead to a lot of issues. But that's a personal story for another day.

Then why is marriage the HOLY Matrimony between a man and a women?
