did you learn how to possibly tell a persons personality by looking at their face/handwriting?
or how a person can fall into love by the person meeting everything in a checklist in the subconscious?

the first one; no. Thats psychological profiling or something and thats criminology. Second one, I heard other theories about it. A lot of people fall for people they identify with their parents for some reason. Also, on a subconcious level we pay real close attention to how people we're atracted to smell. Also, and you might be able to identify with this, most of the time people dont fall in love with a person, but with the ideas they have about said person.

really? ah. i would think that would be something they would want to teach.seems like it could help with a lot of stuff if you become a phycologist or something like that
ya like if you lost a love and she has black hair that could be one of the things you need the other person to have to love them. i heard some stuff on smell but i thought it was just a minor part of it all. and ya. which takes back to that mental check list that makes you fall in love with who the person is. i think that is why people who are in a relationship and are abused stay with them because the person who beats him/her ether verbally or physically has everything the person needs to love someone.

EDIT: so pretty much its what can remind you of your past mostly

Aha, any excuse for me to put some evolutionary science into a thread Very Happy

Choosing people who are like your parents is a subconscious way of choosing good genes for your offspring. It takes a hell of a lot of work to raise a human child to breeding age, so you need to ensure that a) it's worth it and b) they'll survive until then. Since your parents obviously managed it with you, their genes must have been good and contributed to it. By choosing people who are like your parents, you increase the chance of them having similar genes and of them being able to raise healthy offspring.

I can kinda vouch for this; my Dad is tall, my other half is stupidly tall, and I find tall guys attractive. Kinda creepy when you think about it...

aaah that makes a lot more sense then what I made out of it. I kinda just read it and assumed it had to do with a unsolved oedipus complex, which is even creepier Razz I'd like to add a song to that sentence but I'll post it in the youtube thread

How to make proper conversation with a client for starters, how to do proper research, last semester we learned a lot about child psychology. Also a lot of theories from Freud, Goddard, etc....I ussually pick my nose and fall asleep during those parts so to speak. Other then that, its real interesting

You could say that I guess... we kinda know what's going on... maybe...

Raya wrote:Seriously, I can't get my head round this quantum malarky. Different dimensions being the result of string vibrations I get, but everything else goes way over my head. Although the stuff about apparently 'psychic' molecules is very interesting...

What's so hard to understand about quantum physics? Nothing is real. Simple. Razz

And String Theory? That stuff is stupid. Like, really. Quarks and Electrons being 1-Dimensional strings? Do. Not. Want.

On the topic of evolutionary science, I don't understand homosexuality, you can't be born a homosexual. It doesn't fit in with the grander scheme of things, it must be a choice, yet people constantly say that they didn't choose to be gay? This is my confused face.

The only biological cause for homossexuality, as far as I know, is a difference (some would say "a problem", but I'd rather not) in the body's production of sexual hormones.

ok, psychologist student ftw

it has been proven that the amount of ostrogene (sp) in the womb is significant in deciding wether a boy will turn out gay or straight. Also male homosexuals literally have something diffrent in a certain brain lobe I forgot the name off. It isn't however a guarantee that person will turn out gay, enviroment is also important.

As for lesbians, it really is a bit of a riddle. if a woman has more testosteron in her womb during pregnency chances are slightly higher on the daughter being lesbian, but unlike with gays, there arent any abnormalities in the brain structure.

also on the string theorie TheTJ mention

That is the first time somebody as ever given me a logical, reasoned and scientific explanation of homosexuality, I think I just shed a tear. Thankyou.

Also, that comic makes perfect sense. String Theorists are silly Razz
