It was supposed to imply that she was like a child by calling her a childish nickname. but that apparently failed, what ever.

But no, she is your loving wife, she would never do anything that would even resemble discussing plans to usurp you behind your back.

Back on topic, here's a fairly interesting article:

Dromaeosaur dinosaur found with two claws on each foot

Balaur bondoc is a bloody weird dinosaur. Aside from having two raptor claws instead of one, its legs are also built for strength rather than speed. It probably ambushed its prey and tore it apart with dual-action sickle blades.

Actually the bit that makes me most excited are its partially fused finger bones. Fused digits are a major step in bird evolution, so this is another major clue to the exact relationship between dromaeosaurs and birds, whee.

A new habitable Earth-like planet discovered?

If this is true, it would be AMAZING!

If this planet (I hope they change the name btw) really is habitable for humans, we wouldn't have to care about global warming anymore. Well... it sounds a little harsh and we don't have the technology yet to moved 8 Billion people from one planet to another.

And then, there's potential new diseases, new lifeforms, unless this planet is 100% identical to Earth.

And with an orbital period of 37 days... and would be keep up with our ages?

Calling it now a water based life form from Dr. Who is going to be there and infect us. Razz

But really. This is awesome. Kinda makes me wounder how long it is actually going to take us to actually move people over to there.

no, those are from mars. this planet would have a war between cloned fish people and cloned humans that started 7 days before, but the clones think it's been years, adn they're fighting over a terraforming after the captain died, and...

Well, moving people THERE to live probably wouldn't work, since there's only a fraction of it's area that can be reasonably lived on, but there probably will be scientists or at least robots sent there to check it's land. That said, that is absolutely amazing.

Re: discussion on science related issues

Post  Raya on Sun Oct 03, 2010 10:19 am

I'm seriously doubting it may be habitable. Currently there's no evidence or water or an atmosphere on the planet, only that there may be. Even if there is, the size of the planet and its rotation means that the weather is going to be hell. Not only that, the habitable zone is very narrow, and you know what humans are like when there's not enough to go around. I doubt we'd ever have anything more than a colony on there.

Buuuut, even if we don't live there, something possibly habitable may shelter other life forms...

I guess they'd understand, that it is artificial and send something back.We may not be able to communicate, but some kind of contact would occur I think.Anyways, I think any alien lifeform should stay away from mankind,as we'd try to kill them at some point.

The odds of there being another civilisation out there that can not only understand but also return our signals is incredibly small. There's been life on Earth for nearly 4 billion years, yet we've only had radio technology for less than 200 years. Going by how old the universe is, what are the odds of finding another sentient race at the same levels of technology?

Saying that...the Wow Signal is interesting...
