eh, I don't think I'm being hard on the consoles. I know what games I like. I know my preferences, and I know what I can afford. Considering my options and preferences, this gen is terrible.

However I'm sure it's fantastic for other people. Just not me.

As of now, I'd actually agree with you. But keep in mind that we're still pretty early in the console's life cycles.

The Wii's replacement is rumoured for a 2012 release. I'd say we're giving out pogress reports right now.

Fair enough. I don't think it's too early to make any sort of judgement call, though. Each console has had plenty of time to get its act in order.

well to me each console has its pros and cons.

PS3 wins on graphics and potential, but it does lack a good selection of games. (Other than FFXIII, GOW3, and MGS4 there isn't really anything there except for multi-platform games. It does have free online though which is cool.

360 has respectable graphics and game selection. I'm not a big Halo or Gears fan, but I am a Fable fan. For the Majority there are better games out there.

Wii is lacking on graphics, but excelling on gameplay possibilities. Needs more Mature rated games and needs to stop milking Mario and Sonic onto sports games. (Mario Bros Wii is amazing though) As far as game selection goes though I believe it holds strong. I'm sorry but any console who has rights to great characters such as Link, Mario, Samus, etc. has a 1UP in my opinion.

I guess we will find out who is winning by time the next generation consoles come out. Can't wait to see how much more the 360 controller looks like Sony's design lol.

I must say I still prefer the gamecube controller over the wii-remote. There are way to few games that actually utilise the wii-mote in a way that is both fun and immersive (red steel 2).

ah we posted around the same time. It wasn't torward you. I like both wii and gamecube controllers myself. A lot of people dissed the gamecube controller. To me it was very easy to use the button placement was perfect for the natural movement of the thumb and the Z button was good if you used your middle fingers for the triggers. The ORIGINAL X BOX controller was a torture device for the players hands and even when they revamped it.....it still had weird button placement. White, Black, Start, and Back were out of place. Sony wins on controller design though which is why they stuck with the dualshock 3 instead of the weird boomerangs.

Frankly, I've always found that the 360 controllers ahve fit perfectly into my hands. For my money, they're the best controllers out there. They also have a certain "heft". the PS3 controllers are all right, but they're too light. It doesn't feel right somehow. I don't know, maybe I'm crazy.

I know what you mean. I think the new vibrating PS3 controllers are heavier than the originals

I suspect Natal to either

A) Do very well.

or

B) Do very horribly

For the simple reason that the style of games that will be released for it. There is no middle ground left. Either you like having no controller or you don't. And talking to your TV kind of gets old after a while and holding your hands in front of you "pretending" to hold a steering wheel can't feel comfortable after 5 min. And for that reason it will only attract one kind of gamer. When you think about playing guitar hero with your air guitar, all of a sudden you realize that this isn't the same. I might as well put in my favorite CD and rock out while jumping on my bed.
You can say I'm sceptical lol.

It isn't. Also, I wonder how would you run in a game like this. You'd eventually walk into your TV.

Al Pacino sits and shines in all his glory while puffing on a cigar when all of a sudden one of his lackies comes in trying to catch his breath and says, "Boss, Gears of War is going to use Project Natal." Al gets bug-eyed and slams his fist to the table. "Are they kidding me? Are they fucking kidding me!?"

lmao

Ok, here is the deal about Natal.

It is completely obvious that to a "casual" gamer that Nintendo's Wii is the best. Costs less. Nintendo has mastered the Casual Gamer market. Now, most Xbox people I know think of the Wii as a Waggle-fest, yet when they get natal what is the difference? Just no controller? Heres the thing, Microsoft is trying to get a piece of that Casual gamer market. However, Microsoft isn't cheap. Plus these casual gamers know all about Nintendo because Nintendo has been around for Decades. A Casual Gamer will look at the Wii and Xbox-360 and more than likely pick the Wii because, A) It is cheaper. and B) It is more than likely familiar. The Xbox-360 seems to focus too much on Graphics, and Processor. This makes the console more expensive I believe. Now Natal is going to try and grab some of the "casual" gamer market but will be unsuccessful (more than likely, and hopefully IMO). The same goes for PS3 Move.
