Prince of Persia

Post  Blue Madness on Tue Feb 16, 2010 1:37 pm

Thread for anything Prince of Persia, from the very first game, to the upcoming Forgotten Sands, and the *shudder* movie accompanying it.

I think I'd like to open the thread with this. I'm eager to see whether the Wii version of this game will be worth buying or not. Hell, I'm eager to see whether this game will be worth buying or not! I recently bought, received and beat Warrior Within and The Two Thrones, both of which I really enjoyed, and The Sands of Time is already on it's way here, so I'll really appreciate if this game doesn't screw up anything. Opinions?

I had the original one on Xbox.

Well, I still have the game, just no Xbox.

Awwwww, Johnny Depp turn down the role. Dissapoiont. That would have beee either awesome, or awkward to have a Jack Sparrow doing Parkour.

Which means it's a whole different game altogether? I do not like what I see. I hope they're just mistaken.

Necrobump

I like what I see, looks like Prince of Persia alright, looks like it feels like the other SoT games as well...
My only concern now is the one expressed in the post above.

EDIT: The video I just posted isn't showing up for me. Is anyone else not seeing it as well?

Edit: does it work now? :B

EDIT 3: Yeah, that does it. Hooray for me not doing my homework! Very Happy

Triple post because no one posts here and I need to bump this shit. Oh well...

It's confirmed, the Wii version is 100% different. Why give it the same name, then, I ask?
Also the Prince looks kinda blocky to me... Ok, upon closer inspection, not so much.
Still, I don't know whether I like what I see or not. pale

My thoughts are this...it will probably get average scores around 8.0. The two reasons why they are making this game is because it helps support the Disney movie and vise versa. And they needed to return to the gameplay that the majority love. I don't know about the wii version though... I will see what the reviews say about it before I check it out. Probably has a shit storyline since they had to squeeze it between Sands of Time and Warrior Within.

I hope it does a lot better than I anticipate.

Anyone else kind of bummed that they ditched the new storyline that they started with the '08 game in favor of fucking with the Sands of Time one?

Not having personally played or cared about the 2008 game, I'd say I'm not. However, I think it's early to say they "ditched" it: they may still go back to it afterwards.

Dude, 7 years between these two. Doesn't really feel like "squeezing" to me.
