The Anime Thread

Post  Eiron on Fri Oct 31, 2008 1:06 pm

I don't really watch much anime anymore (college time constraints) but I love me some Cowboy Bebop. Fooly Cooly, FMA, Ghost in the Shell, Samurai Champloo...All good. Oh, and I used to watch Avatar religiously.

Can't stand Naruto, and I dislike the anime version of Death Note. The manga is amazing though.

Dislike: most
I am not into anime and I really hate Narutard. It's just not my thing. The only ones I watched but never got into were *thinks* Inuyasha, Zoids, One Piece, Ruroni Kenshin, and Yu Yu Hakusho. Those were ones I liked at a point but just stopped watching them due to not making watching them a priority (except for Inuyasha, because that one was a late night). But of course, who can forget DBZ and Pokemon, I loved them as a kid... Good times.

But generally, I'm not into anime.

I use to watch anime a lot. But... meh, I play video games too much to watch much of anything anymore.

I remembered another one that I liked, but I didn't watch it a lot cause it was on at like 1am or something.

What was the name of the show were three sisters, who were able to control and manipulate paper, were like trying to defeat this guy. I can't say much else about the plot line, but I could describe the sisters if need be.

I know what you're talking about, but I've only seen part of a movie version. I think it was called Read or Die.

That sounds about right.

Spirited Away was decent. I liked Princes Mononoke more though. Try saying that ten times fast.

Naruto's a lot more bearable in Japanese.

They probably all are. The show just seem to have some weird pacing issues though.

My rule is "Unless the dubbing is FANTASTIC, which it rarely is, go with the subs." Miyizaki films seem to be an exception- as well as anime like Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Trigun, and especially Fullmetal Alchemist.

Hmm, I'm really not into anime a whole lot, but there are a few that I'm into or looking at getting into.

Used to watch the obvious kid ones back in the day, but today I watch Lupin the 3rd when ever it's on, looking at watching Basilisk, and my favourite anime is Initial D (I know it's nothing special as far as most anime's, but I love it. Can't stand the American dubbing tho, especially in regards to changing the music)

I just finished Neon Genesis Evangelion. If you haven't seen it and don't mind watching something that forces you to think, I highly recommend it.

I've been meaning to watch some every now and then, but I usually don't think about it and thus.....don't. Did finish one recently that was good however; Sorcerous Stabber Orphen.

Now that you mention it though, my cousin did recommend that I watch the Neon Genesis series...gonna have to give it a go.

The Anime Alliance

Post  Gameorama91 on Mon Dec 01, 2008 5:26 pm

This is a web series based on many different Anime's, done by us in my school's Anime Club.

Yes we are amateurs, and it does not compare to TWBB, but I ask you give it a chance. The first few episodes we are starting to get the hang of doing these, but they're still alright. Episode 4 is where you can tell we really start to improve on our fights, and our humor as well. Also, we will soon have the full special effects program, instead of the demo that you can see that we use. Every time we use an effect, the demo logo pops on the vid. Once we have the full one, that won't happen, and the effects will be a lot better. Our director is kinda a hog, so don't pay much mind to the random Kingdom Hearts clips he puts in a lot.
