Heh, I do my homework to Avenged Sevenfold. Lately, I've been almost exclusively listening to A7x, becasue they are just plain fuckin awesome. Listening to Rise Against on the side, though.

And for real? Canadians don't like Nickleback?

We MUST because they get the most "People's Choice" awards but no one seems to want to admit it lol. I for 1 love them, especially the newer stuff. They're essentially a running joke here it seems. I'll see if I can find a recent article I read.

And A7 is pretty kick ass

I figured rather than starting a new thread I'd just post it here. I'm looking for a generic "infomercial" type song. Preferably something original or that won't get pulled off youtube. It's for a comedy sketch my brother and I are shooting this week. Send me a PM or post here if anyone can help out.

Thanks, Jeremy

thread necro, yo

I've been downloading some stuff via torrents rather than just picking yp music from friends on the fly or relying on them... anyways I got the Dark horse album from Nickleback and it's pretty awesome. Also, a friend of mine showed me this Danish band called Mew and they're not bad. But the other day I couldn't get the Lava Caverns music from Metroid Prime 1, so I went and downloaded all the Metroid music from the Trilogy and Fusion cause that music rules.

I am no fan of artists. Being a artist is a fragile concept then can chance on the fly. Hell, just look at Nickleback. I love their old stuff: "Side of a Bullet", "Animals", then looking at their more recent stuff, they are really going softer to appeal to a wider audience. Same goes for Linkin Park, which I am really pissed about. Numb, In the End, Faint, Nobody's Listening, were all great songs. So in stead I am into genres and songs.

Currently I am into pretty much all sorts of rock. Except the more emo-ish or trash metal side. Everything in between that is good. A little rap music on the side, as long as it isn't about whores, guns, or whores getting shut by guns Razz which pretty much sums up about 98% of all rap songs. Favorite songs on the moment
-"Running wild" by Airbourne (ACDC clone, ur doin it quite well akshually)
-"its so easy when your evil" by voltaire
-"Uncle Toms Cabin" by Warrant (old...yes. But still rocking all current bands)
-"Freestylers" by Bombfunk MC (old one, but one of the few dance tracks I like)
-"Remember the Name" by Fort Minor (not about whores, guns or both)
-"Hot for Teacher" by Van Halen
-Guitar Hero 3's version of the Devil went down to Georgia
-"Paranoid" covered by Megadeth
-"Long way to the promised Land" by Bad Religion
-"Old Time Rock and Roll" by Bob Segar
-"Bad Things" by Wednesday 13

and of course: "Mushroom Kingdom Nocturne" by Daniel Schraer

Also, try walking trough a forest after midnight while listening to "Squirtle Squirtle". Really puts you in the mood for a horror story

I like Nickleback's Dark Horse album. I can see what you mean though how they have a softer sound from All the Right Reasons. But I listen to a wide variety of music and I get most of my hard stuff from Avenged Sevenfold, so I guess that gives more leeway in terms of not being bothered that Nickleback is taking a softer approach now. LKinkin Park... I totally agree. I like a few songs on their new album, but not as good as Meteora.

Music and Bands

Post  Entlassen on Wed Aug 26, 2009 8:00 pm

Sort of like the 'Movies and Cinemas' thread, only with, uh, music.

Basically, post a new album or song you've heard, rate it, review it, whatever, bet it good or bad.

Album: ...Of Frost And War
Artist: Hail of Bullets

A very solid death metal album, while it does not attempt to innovate the genre in any way, it does manage to stay very listenable for the duration of the album. Being a concept album of the Eastern Front during World War II, it maintains a - naturally - brutal atmosphere to it, thrashing riffs and monstrous vocals accompanied by rapid drumming, broken up occasionally by slower-paced songs that seem to imply a dying army marching through Russia's frozen tundra. Regarding the instrumentation, this album manages to be above adequate in all fields; I've no real complaint of the vocals or percussion or anything, but it does not particularly impress me. Overall, it seems to be a return to death metal's roots; it's quite reminiscent of Bolt Thrower, in fact, both in sound and subject matter. If death metal's your thing, I'd definitely check it out.

Do tell? Umm...

Yeah, I must say, It was pretty cool.

Third Musical I've been too. (Lion King, Wicked. I loved Lion King, It was pretty cool watching the actor swing from this vine thing to the stage) Anyways, Shit was awesome. I'm pretty sure that they changed some of the stuff for the Performance. (Say, The original performance wouldn't had had Global Financial Crisis jokes) I saw a bit on YouTube on the internet. Hell, It was better on stage than it was online. Which is funny because I Idolised most of the songs. It was still way too epic.

Hell, most of the shit put me off, Like the Empire state building moment. That was pretty awesome.

Re: Music and Bands

Post  Smashy B on Tue Sep 01, 2009 2:37 pm

So last night I saw Nickelback in concert. They were awesome. Played a shit ton of songs. At three different times, I thought they were done, but they just kept going. Even their encore was an extra three songs. Chad Kroeger was hella funny too. Just in between songs he'd be talkin about or makin fun of some fdans in the mosh pit, or comment about smellin something good in the air. The concert was at Sleep Train Ampetheater, which is outside, so every 10 minutes, my friend and I could smell weed. Only real dissapointment is that they didn't play Just to Get High, my favorite off their Dark Horse album. But the other great songs they played off all their albums more than compensated.

Saving Abel, Hinder, and Papa Roach played before. We were to late to catch Saving Abel and just made it to see Hinder play Get Stoned. Papa Roach was pretty good too.

Just got back from a Killers concert. Pretty awesome stuff. Friend called me up with an extra ticket and said i cold go if I could be ready in 20 minutes. Knew about half the songs, if not more, since I like their old stuff better.
