This. Both of these points, actually.

I was referring to Link's Awakening DX. Also, they rereleased The first Legend of Zelda, Zelda 2, Majora's Mask, and Ocarina of Time for Gamecube, didn't they?

I meant remake the gmae for the GBA/NDS. In my mind, since I don't own the original, I think of LA as the DX version. They also re-released LoZ and ZII for the GBA. But i'm saying they should remake them with better graphics- the way they did for pokemon R/B/Y and G/S

Well, the DX version is essentially what you suggested, I don't know how well it did. From my understanding, the remakes to pokemon were made because they changed the formatting from Generations 1 and 2 to generation 3, and people could no longer legitimately complete their pokedexes. People got angry and Gamefreak for this, and that's why the made FR/LG and later HG/SS, so that we could "catch 'em all." if this is true, I don't see why there would be the same kind of motivation to remake the old Zelda games.

yes Spont posted this a while back, but DAMNIT X3. for those 2, 3 months the song silently waited in a corner of my brain, and popped up at random times. Now I finished downloading NMH2, but cant play it till thursday because of school and stuff, the song is haunting me.

it doesnt help that I put it on my MP3 now either

Epic necro post.

Battle and Get! Pokemon Typing DS is a Japan-only educational game for the DS that teaches Japanese children how to type on English keyboards. Essentially you catch/defeat Pokemon by typing their romanji names when they appear. The gameplay is basic and the graphics are rubbish.

The boss battle music though is goddamn awesome.

This is what should've been in brawl instead of the reused old music, imo.

Kind of wondering if I like generations' version of City Escape more then SA2's;

And this one.....yea, yea, Final Fantasy XI. It's good anyways. Piano version of what it is in the game.

Piano Jam from Sequence.

Guitar Sound from Sequence.

Ronald Jankees is my favorite pianist by far.

Now all I need is for Lindsey Stomp to do something similar with the violin and I will be set for music games.

I love Zia's song. It's slightly haunting, very blues like, and lyrically incredibly foreshadowing.

Very atmospheric, with a huge scope of old-west feeling to it.

Re: Music in videogames. Now with extra piano!

Now, this one is a sound novel. Obviously, it's just text with an emphasis on sound. However, there are many sound novels with good soundtracks, but then there is Umineko no Naku Koro Ni. It has many amazing tracks, so I think it definitely deserves a place here (even though it may not be a conventional game).

I'd rather not stretch the page, so here's a couple of samples, with the rest in link form.

The epic opening theme:

u2_nighteyes:

STRIP (Rougoku):

Others: Dreamenddischarger, Thank You for Being Born (which is actually a piano version of a song from one of those Higurashi image albums or something like that), Discolor, and Worldend Dominator.

Sadly, I still haven't gotten around to reading the sound novels. D:

And I have another game to feature. For those of you who love Professor Layton, here's a little sample from one of Tomohito Nishiura's earlier games. You'll notice the synthesizer used is probably the same one (if you pay special attention to the flute from PL's Lost Forest and DC2's Gundorada Workshop, you'll see what I mean).

Dark Cloud 2 (US)/Dark Chronicle (JPN/Europe):

Gundorada Workshop

Stella Magic Temple (Starlight Temple in the US version):

Carnival Night:

...I think I've posted enough...
