Then you haven't really seen any episodes, just two specials.

If you want to see the best Doctor Who can offer, watch "Blink". It's brilliant.

SO far my favorite episodes would be Utopia, The Sound of Drums and Last of the Time Lords.

For obvious reasons as I fucking love The Master.

Season 3 as a whole is my favorite season. That ending was glorious, the episodes were amazing... I just loved that season.

I think I will also attempt to learn that.

EDIT: I can't follow this by eye... if I can't get an MP3 MIDI converter, then w/e

I'm also going to learn to knit so I can make a Tom Baker scarf. I even found some old knitting needles downstairs, and BAGS of unused yarn.

EDIT: Oh man guys, knitting's HARD!

So, I finished my practise scarf in a little under a week, now I need to buy materials and get a pattern for the who scarf.

Also, because it is just so awesome:

Spoiler:

And in case that didn't load quite right, here's a link.

JEGUS! It feels like I just turned on hard mode! Compared to my practice size:

- The needle's are less than half the size
- The loops are half the size
- The scarf's 2.5 times as wide
- It's going to be 4 times as long
- There are EIGHTY-EIGHT color changes!

So, I guess I'll be busy making this for some time. Hopefully it'll be ready by Gen-con.

Re: Doctor Who

Post  TheTJ on Mon Feb 20, 2012 9:39 pm

Shoot... I was nearing the end of the 5th Doctor's run and was starting to think I may have seen nearly all there is. Then I found out there were about 250 Doctor Who Books that are nearly canon.

On the one hand I'm thrilled that there's tons more Doctor Who for me. On the other hand I don't relish tracking down all of those books. I suppose it would be too much to hope some of you have a complete collection for sale? On top of that it seems some of them should be read in order too (Although I think I can get away with not doing that. Time Travel and whatnot.)

As for my scarf, it's coming along at about 4 feet long. I'm almost a quarter done with it. Now some of you guys post too, I love Doctor Who but none of my friends share the enthusiasm.

I've decided to try to get a job at Home Depot and use the money/employee discount to Build a DALEK!

I've also decided you guys don't talk about the doctor enough, it's almost as if this forum isn't all about the show.

^You crack me up sometimes.

While I'm here, the only episode I've seen was the weeping angles statues one. Watched it with my friend's friends when I went to visit her in LA last year. It freaked me out, but I liked it a lot. Haven't looked into watching it on tv though.

I'm sorry, we're stuck here with pretty shitty american sitcoms, dutch sitcoms, dutch soaps and the ocassional rerun of sitcom even the brittish will think is antique.

I was watching it. Kinda started to slow down after The Mater though. Then it got replaced by Kenichi. I may go back to watching it if there is nothing else to watch and I want to be a lazy bastard and watch TV for a long period of time. Though I am in the middle of Excel Saga now so that is first on my list to watch all the way through.

If I had a way to copy mine I'd send them to you.

Tell you what... If you buy a portable hard drive with about 350-400 Gigs of memory and ship it out here, I'll do my best to copy everything from one to the other.

A friend had a bunch of the DVDs and put them in digital format. When he heard I was a fan he did the same deal. I bought the Hard Drive and he gave me the episodes.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, they WERE probably pirated... He's the kinda guy who would do that. I just wanted them badly enough I wasn't going to inquire too harshly.

Well, here's the scarf so far:

Spoiler:

It's still going to end up 4 times as long, but I'm pretty happy with how it's coming along.

Oh man, I don't know how I missed this...

A little under 4 months ago someone found some of the missing Doctor who episodes. Namely, "Galaxy 4 part 3" and "The Underwater Terror part 1", the second is now the earliest episode of the 2nd Doctor's run we have.

I can't overstate how awesome this is. It's the first find in... over ten years I think. It's this kind of thing that keeps people hoping that we'll find the rest of them someday. Maybe some old guy recorded them all and they're all in his basement waiting to be found. Who knows?

Anyway, this news has made me giddily happy. Now there are only 106 left to find, which is way lower than the initial 152.

Also, scarf at 40%, just thought I'd give an update on that too.

You know, I think it's true what they say, people live above their means...

My new job allows people to listen to whatever they want while they work... Which means, of course, Doctor Who Audio Plays!

Not the books read out (I prefer to read them) But the actual Doctors themselves reading out new scripts like a radio play. Tom Baker even got in the act recently! That's just so awesome.

Anyway, yeah, they're going to be like 20 bucks a story and there's several hundered of them. I figure All my money for the next year will be split between a new car/ expenses liek gas... and Doctor Who stuff. Just those two things.

...I think I'm A Doctor Who junkie. I need to stop, I can't afford this... but I just can't! If I don't get some soon I'll suffer withdrawl.
