Quaetman's TWBB Forums Fire Emblem Hack

Alright. Seeing Weldar's and Viero's hacks-in-progress I couldn't pass this chance by! This will be a daunting task but I really want to try it. I dunno if I'll be able to do this but I have the equipment and I've contacted Sonix for some extra advice. I plan on eventually creating an entire custom story, complete with bonus chapters and a plot. For now, though, I'm sticking to basics, and just trying to figure things out. From what I've seen modding Fire Emblem is quite difficult, so there's no guarantee I'll be able to get anywhere with this, but I plan on giving it a shot.

I'll be using either FE7 or FE8. Right now I'm working with FE8 since it's the only rom I have but I'm probably going to use FE7 for the permanent version simply cause it's simpler and the world map system won't be as hindering. Also, if I don't manage to figure out how to make new chapters/delete present ones, it comes with plenty of extra chapters from the start.

I'm probably not going to get anywhere with this until my finals are done in two weeks, but for now, how bout you guys list what kind of character you'd want (class, etc.)?

stats: high defenses, high speed. HP can go to hell.
color: red clothes, with some blue clothes, and yellow hair.

also, if you need any help, I can try to see what I can scrounge up. I've wanted to do my own FE thing for a while, and... interestingly enough, FE8 is my fav/one i've played most.

@td260-Well like I said I really want to end up modding FE7 for its linearity and gaiden chapters, FE8 is just the one I have on hand right now. Any help is more than appreciated though .

@Avalanche-High Priest Roy Avalanche I? Excellent. The custom skin will indeed come in time, but probably not until everything else is done simply cause it's the hardest.

Hate to kinda copy from TD, but.....Relmitos' character can't be anything BUT a mage. If I can still be a mage, anyways.

Mages in FE7 are just mages, no differentiation between wind, fire, and thunder. There are thieves in FE7 and they become Assassins, which are kickass.

Some sort of Archer, please. Although there are a lot of mages here from people trying to portray themselves (being all intelligent, nerdy people) so to balance things out you can make me a more brute-ish class if needed. Archers are still cooler, though.

for those who dont or havent played fire emblem, Ill be helpfull and write down the classes that appear in most fire emblem games (might miss some, or add some that arent in this particular one)

-lords (main characters)
-Cavaliers (guys on horses), Paladins (stronger guys on horses)
-Knights (big lads in armor), General (bigger lads in armor)
-archer (self explainatory), Sniper (now with bigger bow)
-Pegasus Knight, Falco Knight (cause Falco now means unicorn pegasus)
-Wyvern Knight, Wyvern Lord
-Myrmidon (guy with katana), swordmaster
-Mercenary (guy with sword), Hero
-Thief, Assassin
-Nomad (archer on horse), Ranger (Nomad with sword)
-Fighter (axe guy), Warrior (bigger axe guy+bow)
-Pirate (also axes), Berserker (very big axe guy)

Mage-Sage (fire, thunder magic)

Mecrnary (guy with sword) -> Hero (Bigger Merc + Axe. Well balanced unit)
There is also a playable Brigand, but in FE6. He's similar to the pirate character with some stat differences.
