Eiron wrote:There was actually a pretty big hullaballoo over at SWF about the comps in Brawl. Apparently, the level 9's have the ability to "learn" from your play style. Players were reporting that after several hours of playing witht the comps, they would start crouch taunting after kills or using tactics that the players had recently adopted, such as Bowser's infinate jump glitch. The best guess was that the comp recorded the button inputs of the player whenever the player dealt out larg amounts of damage, and then regurgitated those movements in similar situations.
That makes sense. There are times when I'll just be kicking the computer's ass, but then have a hard time fighting him after it's second death because I kept thinking that it was knkowing what I was going to do.

I'm sure it is, but I'm never giving up on the King. Very Happy I would really love to get better with Bowser as well though. But can Bowser kill people by flexing his body? No he cannot.

I've always been into middle characters between speed and power (expect Smash 64 where I was a noob and loved Kirby for his recovery) although I'm also a fan a characters with good range.

I seriously just chose characters with a good metagame. I don't have the nostalgic approach of most brawl players.

I remember those days...we used to rag on my friend for using Kirby for just that same reason. Then he'd tell us that with our Up B's, our recoveries were just as good. But we just ignored that.

This is the second time you've ninja'd me in just as many posts Surge...

I played Fox back in the day, but I really didn't know what I was doing. Among my friends, I've almost always been the best smasher. In middle school though, I was friends with a really beastly Marth player. Couldn't beat that guy.

In elementary School we played 64 and were all n00bs.
In middle school we played Melee and actually developed skills
In high school we played brawl, and now no longer have lives because of it.

Life well spent.

Indeed. Real life is still a poor substitute for video games. Everything is a poor substitute for Smash.

I seriously want to get into competitive smash. I highly doubt I'm good enough, but I'd still love to get into the action at a high profile tourney.

I just watched some amazing team battles and some more NinjaLink stuff. Those guys are incredible. I think it would be a blast to get into the competitive scene, but there's no way I could compete with these guys.

They're the "pros" for a reason.....one tough act to beat, for real. I didn't even know some of those moves were possible until I watched those videos.

There was one match, a Snake player vs a ZSS player on Lylat Cruise, and the ZSS jumped under the stage and used Up B to shoot the plasma whip through the stage and hit Snake, and then made it back to the edge. I was like O____O
