Sirria stood in the clearing, his legs slick with marsh sludge and wet with the rising damnation. Behind him lay the forest itself, its complex, multi-layer canopy stretching dozens of feet overhead and blocking most, if not all, sunlight from the area. Indeed, it seemed that as he had progressed outward from the round’s center, all animation had diminished; there were no more furred rodents scurrying about at his feet, no more birds crying overhead. The vegetation had grown denser and yet increasingly devoid of life; the dark tree limbs hanging damp and decaying across his path, the willow leaves rotted as if by the taint of autumn and darkened by a deeper feeling, becoming oppressive and cramped as he had moved outward. And the canopy, even here in the clearing, overshadowed him, blocking most light from entering. He saw ahead merely by the faint beams of radiance permitted entry by the verdant mass above, and the light of his blue, luminescent, rune-emblazoned arm.

And as he progressed, some unseen force hacked at him. Some invisible spirit of entropy and of stagnation that held him back. Each step grew more difficult, more sluggish, sloth slowly overcoming his entire being. For even without seeing it, he knew the presence of the encroaching water well before he arrived at this clearing, as he sank deeper and deeper into its soul-sucking, mind-numbing icy grip. It was merely by sheer magical fortitude that he managed to maintain his focus and avoid stumbling deep into the water. The light of his arm lit his path, and the strength of his mind forced him onward.

It was this arm that he held aloft as he walked through the clearing, Desperatum raised for good measure. The trees behind him had grown denser and ceased. Now it seemed that, in front of him, the vegetation had formed a formidable, effectively opaque wall.

He sloshed forward amidst the slowly rising water, sword leveled at the barrier ahead. What would happen if this was indeed the boundary, and he were to break free, or even to simply puncture it? Would the Minister see his actions and strike him down as a petty precaution? No, such a god has no need for precautions. Were the Minister to punish them, it would be simply as an example to the others, to ensure they stayed in line.

Sirria frowned as he beheld the thick, towering wall of trees. Such an outcome was possible, very possible. The chances that the Minister not be pleased with his escape were indeed quite real. Yet if he and Jak were to escape, this was the only true option. Such a risk would have to be taken. Should he be right about this barrier, this world, he would be able to escape quickly once he broke the barrier.

Sirria shrugged such thoughts aside and pushed forward, nearly squeezing between the trees as he progressed, hacking a small path in front of him with Desparatum. As he progressed, the clearing faded from view, and the oppression of the trees around him merged with the sloth induced by the water now halfway to his knee. All rays of sunlight faded, leaving him in total darkness lit only by his glowing runes. And he noticed a change in the path ahead, as an eerie violet and azure glow began to shine through the gaps in the trees ahead. He made one final surge through the brush, reaching his hand forward...

…and beheld an insurmountable obstacle. Ahead was a wall of swirling liquid, a violet, shrouded barrier that seemed to glow with its own eerie light. The path before him was ensnared by something between a liquid and a mist, something he could not see beyond, yet at the touch it was cool as steel, and far more implacable.

This was it, this was the boundary.

For an instant Sirria pondered, his mind fighting against the imploring serenity of the water all the while. The barrier was tangible yet metaphysical, some sort of arcane wall placed. He grinned. The arcane was his specialty. He couldn’t cross on this plane, but elsewhere, where the regular laws of existence did not apply? Perhaps he would be able to transcend this obstacle.

Sirria’s arm glowed, and he took a step forward, exiting this dimension and entering the ethereal of the Between Worlds. The land was a nonsensical blur of grey hues, its mundanity pierced by the glow of spiritual energy. Behind him and a few hundred yards in the distance, several sparks indicated the presence of the other contestants. At his feet was a swirling, all-encompassing miasma of darkness, the life-consuming entropy he recognized to be the water of death below him.

And before him, blazed into his vision, standing out against the rest of the pale nothing that was the Between Worlds, was a brilliant wall of light. The orange, gold hued surface streched either way into the distance, and seemed to circle around the entire occupied area. Exactly what I was looking for.

Sirria, tentatively at first, took a step forward within the spiritual void, reached out his left hand toward the swirling wall of light… …and pierced it! His hand began to grow warm, but practically leaping with excitement, Sirria surged forward and into the barrier.

And the power of the Minister struck back, hindering his advances at every turn. The dark wind that had resisted his advances thus far evolved into a rippling tide; into a current he foraged, a swirling tempest that fought against him, pushed him back, tried to turn him around and force him into the game. He forced himself onward again, again, each step bringing more pain. The wind ate into his bones, tore into his flesh. The storm around him shuddered the very foundations of his being. And still he forced himself onward.

Yet even as he resisted, as he took another step, determined to break free of the Minister’s bonds, the maelstrom of darkness overwhelmed him, enveloped him, burned at his body; no, at his soul! Some unknown power pushed him, cut at him, consumed him at the very basic level. He pressed forward one final step, and the feeling only intensified. He cried out in a silent agony as he felt the dark tendrils encroaching on his mind and soul, and threw himself backwards, out of the barrier.

Sirria stood there for a second, shaking, in the Between World, as for a second a great beast howled from within the depths of his mind, seeking its chance at resurgence. He shuddered to think what would have happened had he tried exiting the Between Worlds beyond the boundary. Judging by the mind-shredding darkness he experienced in the arcane pathways, he had little doubt attempting to do so would strip his soul from his body. Indeed, that was one passage out of the game that was quite shut.

The darkness at his feet had risen to just above his knee. With a flash of light and a step backwards, he exited the Between World and returned to normalcy. Sure enough, the soul-sapping water was there at his feet, ready to consume him should he give way to the incipient self-release dawning on his mind. And with his mind vulnerable, his mental barriers shattered by the horror that lay beyond the Barrier, that urge was creeping up on him, growing stronger by the second.

The Lycan shook his head, snapping out of his sudden trance, and focused. Another idea surged to the surface of his mind. If he could not transcend that miserable wall, perhaps he could at least puncture it. A sizeable hole could perhaps forestall the water’s rise, or even lower the level enough for to find what lay in the lake it was coming from. Should the breach be insufficient to escape through, perhaps a route to salvation lay at the water’s source, though that may be unlikely.

Ah well, either way, now was the time to see what he could shatter.

He stepped back, and his arm arced with red lightning. A rosy hue blazed from his sword, red fire running up and down its length, and he slashed forward.

A brilliant blaze of crimson flames erupted from Desparatum and collided with the plasmatic barrier before him, the swirling violet and entropic darkness that marked the edge of the arena. The grove was lit with a blinding flash of light, Sirria throwing a shield of mystic energy out in before him to stifle the blaze that sheared off the Barrier.

And all was still. Sirria looked up, panting. All around him, a large hole had been burnt in the wall of trees, its circumference aflame. And before him, untouched by the blaze of his attack, was the barrier.

Sirria braced himself as his vision seemed to swim for a second. He was surprisingly low on energy even following the encounter in the Between Worlds and the magic he had just summoned.

It was then he felt the water crest his knee. His vision swam before his eyes, and he felt an instant of dizziness. He cursed, and looked around. The water was rising uniformly now. The plain on which he stood would soon become a lake.

And if he didn’t move now, he wouldn’t be able to. Sirria set off at the fastest pace he could manage while maintaining his balance, leaving the still burning tree wall behind him, the blasted circle aflame around the swirling purple haze, his eyelids dropping as he struggled to stay conscious amidst the rising water.

---------------------------------------------------------

Zero moved amidst a confusing landscape of slopes, pillars, and grass. The sky above was punctured by the intangible, incomprehensible mass of color that was the forest canopy; an impassible yet clearly intangible verdant enigma that continued to remain unresolved to the unthinking one that ascended beneath it.

The roots underfoot caught Zero every so often, causing the nonentity to sprawl forward and experience brief pain, roll to its feet, and continue its upward climb after a second of disorientation. As Zero progressed, the pillars around it grew sparse, and the ground grew harder. The forest gave way to a rocky clearing. Instantly the sky above resolved itself into the emptiness that it was, an unending source of light and heat. Not far ahead loomed the summit, as the ground’s upward climb ceased and no further existence seemed to lay beyond.

Reverberations passed through the void as a burst of energy shone from a nearby hillside; Aidrail’s dark pulse, though lacking the intensity of the souls that fled the Codex, screamed through the void towards Zero, and again Zero was drawn to its power, the sheer energy like a magnet, a beacon to which Zero found itself steered. Zero turned and began to descend the sloped surface beneath it, falling almost instantly and rolling a short distance before again rising to its feet. The irregularity registered to the nonentity but was nonetheless nigh-impossible to deal with; Zero could not cope with the unpredictability of the environment around it, could not comprehend the semi-tangibility of the grass and the canopy overhead, and thus even its interpretation of the ground at its feet was skewed.

Yet drawn onward, Zero continued its downward climb, entering the forest once more. With each step, the entropy of the grass became less relevant, and the surface beneath the tabula rasa gradually began to register itself as a consistent solid. Zero’s footfalls adjusted themselves to elevation and slope; they did not merely fall in place expecting a solidity to coalesce under them.

And just as soon as the reverberations began, they ceased, and Zero stopped short, standing aimlessly among the forested hillside. Birds twittered through the air, their motion piercing the void above like lightning, catching Zero’s attention. The nonentity turned and watched, unmoving, unable to truly comprehend the beauty of their freedom as they fled the site of Aidrail’s outburst. And Zero, immobile, remained steadfast.

Two primal motives clashed; the same two instincts that had been prevalent since it entered this world. The motive of the hunter, kill or be killed. The motive of the survivalist, stay out of the way and you won’t get hurt.

Zero stood for an instant, unmoving, silent, and a third instinct surfaced.

Nonmotion is immobility. Immobility is death. Death is irrevocable.

Do not succumb to the absolute.

Zero began to move once more, forging its way through the forest at its current elevation. With each step and each fall, its actions became more precise, more accustomed to the randomness at its feet. Zero continued onward, ever moving, ever changing.

Spoiler:
Shorter one this time, but a setup for part of what I've got planned next, for sure. Waiting on posts from Suicide and td260 primarily at this point now, and AFAIK both are underway. This revival is going very nicely :3

The Terrabeing, still in the heat of battle with the virus Keith. Ended abruptly by a blinding light. Suddenly everything was surrounded in the darkness of the cave.

Error! Virus (Keith) location not found
Location of self: Unknown
Scanning new area......Loading new area map
.

With the Terrabeing trying to figure out where it's current coordinates are there came a shock to it's system that turned it into a mere ball of static.
BBBBZZZZZZZZPPPPPPP!! ERROR ERROR! DANGEROUGE FLUID DETECTED. FLUID KNOWN AS WATER.
FILES DELETED DUE TO SHOCK!
UNKNOWN FILES DELETED!
WATER LEVELS RISING! ESCAPE MANDITORY!

HIGHEST PRIORITY: GET AWAY FROM WATER/DELETE VIRUS TO ESCAPE WATER

With that The Terrabeing slammed the wall and his code scattered everywhere. Trying to find out before the water closes up the entrance completely.

NOTIBILITY OF DETECTION: IMMINUNT

DETECTION PRIORITY: LOW

CURRENT OBJECTIVE: EXIT THIS CAVE

As it was searching for the way out.

LIGHT DETECTED!

The Terrabeing fly’s out of the cave like a bat out of hell to escape the fluid of "life" to so many viruses. But to the Terrabeing waters is it's very death.

The top priority of it's next move is to delete the next virusbefore it is shollowed up by the water.

VIRUSES THAT ARE STILL ACTIVE: (10)

CREATE: MINISTER (1)

COMENCE LOCATING OF VIRUSES

A copy of the minister fly up and remained stagnant now acting as a permanent sentry to detect the other viruses of this scan/clean up.

With relative ease and speed it was able to spot a Virus.

VIRUS KNOWN AS HEART DETECTED

ACTIVATE HARDDRIVE CLEAN UP.

CREATE: VIRUS (KEITH) (1)
VIRUS (ZELGIOUS) (1)
VIRUS (Neil) (1)

GOAL:ADVANCE TO VIRUS AND DISTRACT HIM FOR ATTACK.

The copies started in the direction of the virus. Once they caught up to him they started to speak"

HEART! LISTEN. WE ALL KNOW THE COMPUTER VIRUS IS DANGEROUSE. IF WE WANT TO WIN WE MUST TEAM UP.

"Stay where you are!...Why should I trust your kind when all you do is lie and destroy."

Heart on his guard now, suspicious of these characters.

SO YOU SAY YOU ARE NOT AFFRAIDE OF THE COMPUTER VIRUS!? YOU THINK YOU CAN BEAT IT ON YOUR OWN!? IF YOU WISH TO LIVE WE MUST WORK AS A TEAM.

I can avoid him. I can let the other fools take him down for me!

AND HOW DO YOU KNOW THE OTHERS CAN TAKE HIM?

"You mean to tell me that 8 other people cannot take it down?"

The Terrabeing was behind. Waiting for the right time to strike Heart.

YOU WILL DIE ALONE WITH THAT THING OUT AND ABOUT. JOIN US NOW!

"Enough! leave me be or I will take you fools down!

Seeing Heart now paying full attention to the copies. The Terrabeing comes flying out from the trees behind him. Crashing him between the pile of data and a tree. With Terra taking out the copies as well. Leaving only shreds of data.

ACCEPT DELETION NOW!
DELETION IMMINENT

Heart giving out a gasp as the air flew out of his lungs.

"MissingNo!?....."

Now staring closely at the pile of code that gave him so much trouble in his past.

"Must....Do something....Can't end now."

His eyes and hands started to glow fire red.

HEART LEVELS RISING.

His whole body exploded with fire. Setting both The Terrabeing and the tree ablaze.

DANGER DANGER!!
OVER HEATING!!
HEAT LEVELS UNTIL SHUTDOWN FOR COOLING: 85%

The Terrabeing releases Heart as he dashes back to his weapon.

DELEEEEEEEEEEETE!

ACTIVATING VENTALATION SYSTEMS
CREATE: FANS (4)

4 fans appear in the middle of its system to cool him off from the blazes of heat it was struck with.

While Heart still had the chance he decided to run. He remembers all to well of what happened in the past with the one known as MissinNo.

As the Terra was about to give chase his systems stopped it from moving when it was cooling down to prevent even more overheating.

ACTION: MOVE = UNAVALABLE

TARGET VIRUS DISTANCE GROWING!
CREATE: LIQUID BEINGS (3)

DELETE THE VIRUS!

With the liquid beings right behind Heart. He sent a fire ball at them. Hitting one dead on making it vaporize into steam.

"What are these things!?.....Well. MissingNo is not here. Enough running!"

Heart took a stand against the liquid beings with flames in his eyes.

Water sloshed around Sirria’s legs as he returned the way he’d come. The Water was as chilling as ever, and he could feel it softly urging him to slumber. He shook it off as best he could, trying to move faster towards the hill before he fell to the water’s whisperings. It wore at him, gently eroding his mind even as he fought against it. “Forget this” Sirria grumbled and concentrated, raising his mental shields to protect against the water. He let out a shocked gasp as he felt the water rush over and through the shields, draining them in an instant. Before he could attempt to raise them again, he felt what seemed like ice running through his core. He felt it draining away his magic, replacing it with the icy calm of the water. It was unlike anything he’d felt before; a part of him cut off. He cursed and tried fruitlessly to raise a spell, to regain some part of his arcane energy. He cursed louder and more colorfully when he gave up a few minutes later. “I don’t have time for this” he spat, deciding to put forth another effort when there was more time. He continued onward, reaching the dense portion of forest. “This is going to be difficult,” Sirria sighed, gazing up at the dense wall of trees.

”You know what you need to do” a voice came from within Sirria’s head. ”Let me out or you’ll die”

“Shut up” Sirria growled, pushing through the trees, fighting his way through the unnatural waters that encroached upon him. It clung to him, making each step increasingly difficult.

”You’ll have to eventually” the Wolf goaded ”Are you looking to die already?”

“I said shut up” Sirria barked to the trees around him, climbing through the knotted roots of the thicket. The Wolf had never been this outspoken before – sometimes he’d get the urge to shift, a soft, gentle whisper in the back of his mind tempting him, but it was generally content with its escapades during the full moon when not even the Magic could keep hold of the Lycanthropy. Was it the prospect of unrestrained killing that drove the Wolf to push further upon his mind? Or could it be the wear his body, mind, and magic have suffered during this tournament thus far that was waking the beast? Sirria feared the latter would ring true, feared what might happen were he to continue this onslaught. ”You can’t keep me locked up forever” the Wolf chimed in, sensing his thoughts ”Not if you keep this up”

“Sure I can” Sirria panted, struggling to squeeze through the last tangle of roots. With a push he fell forward out of the gap and onto his knees in the water. A wash of calm overtook him and he nearly collapsed. He struggled back to his feet and shook the water from his hair and marched onward. Thankfully he’d left the twisted maze of roots and had entered upon the flat featureless terrain of what was once the march, now more reminiscent of a lake. The dark waters concealed the bottom, and had Sirria not been wading through the now thigh high waters, he would not have been able to so much as guess at the depth. This water was getting more dangerous by the minute. However the land was flat and little impeded his path, allowing once again for quicker travel. He focused himself on continuing forward and remaining awake.

”You’re exhausted, body and mind” the Wolf’s voice came again ”To survive you will need me – you will need my power” Sirria looked up and saw the hill in the distance, but the water was calling him, he couldn’t ignore it any longer… ”Yes… Give in. Sleep while I destroy everyone.” Sirria’s eyes closed and he began to fall forward. ”Sleep and forget why you’re here, forget the path you took so long ago.

“Forget about her.”

Sirria’s eyes flashed open, glowing the same arcane blue of his rune-marked arm. He stepped forward, unsheathing Desparatum and swinging a powerful upward slash in one smooth motion, cutting through the water and leaving an opening that he quickly ran along as the water cascaded back into just as fast. A wave trailed behind him from the force of the rapidly dislocated water, but Sirria kept ahead, drawing on all the stamina he had left to him before collapsing face first onto gritty, moist earth. The wave washed over him, but fire burst around him, staving off the majority of the water. Clutching his sword tightly, he struggled to his feet as the fire twisted down his body, warming and drying him. As he regained his footing on the hillside and the fire gently sputtered out as it reached the ground, its job complete, Sirria noticed that along with his magic, the majority of his strength had returned now that he was out of the water and dry. He was still a sight worse off than he had been before this ill-fated excursion, but he could manage for now. He glanced up the hill again, wondering how Jak's trek had gone.

”You can’t trust anyone” the Wolf whispered, the magic already at work resealing him, his voice fading. ”They will betray you – And I will be there to devour them when you are left broken and defeated. Again.”

“Say what you will Wolf” Sirria muttered under his breath as he trekked up to meet Jak “You will be waiting a good long while.”

Re: The Grand Brawl - Round 3: The Battle Complex

Post  Raya on Mon Mar 14, 2011 2:53 pm

Spoiler:
Sorry for taking a while with this. Hope I did it justice Vie~

Something was wrong. The three players talking to him- Neil, Zelgius and Keith- seemed flesh and bone, but something wasn't right. The way they moved, the way they spoke- the nuances weren't there. Heart cautiously took a step back, suspicious of these three beings addressing him by name.

Then the trees exploded behind him.

He spun and time slowed to a nauseating crawl as the thing erupted from hiding. A bubbling morass of chaos and colour, its form boiling and writhing without aim or purpose. It lunged forward, a juggernaut of insanity crashing out of the darkness towards him, clouds of data scattering in its wake.

Heart was frozen to the spot in sheer terror, a deer in monstrous headlights. His mind screamed at him to run but his body refused to obey, muscles paralysed in fear. It was him, it, the abomination known as Missingno, bled into this world and intent on corrupting it. His brain dredged up the memories he'd suppressed, that horror, of attacks doing nothing, feathers and skin peeling and dissolving, the feeling of his DNA unravelling at the seams and oh, Arceus, the sensation of Final Death, of immortality being stripped away, of all existence torn apart and devoured. And now the thing was here, rising up like a tidal wave, splitting apart like a great maw to consume him.

His mind snapped.

Shrieking like a wild beast he erupted into flames, arresting the Terrabeing's charge. Sheer feral instinct took over as he turned and ran, knowing nothing but escape. The three copies were behind him and he lashed out, annihilating one of them in a fiery blast. For a moment rational though returned, his arrogance flooding back. Adrenalin pumping he leapt onto the second copy, claws burning it in two, the final one receiving an immolating punch through the chest. He shuddered, trembling, shreds of data tumbling around him. Was that it? Was it over?

The Terrabeing roared around the corner, smoke streaming off its body and fans thundering as they struggled to cool it down. Heart's bravado evaporated in an instant and he turned and ran like a thing possessed. Mad blind instinct overtook him as he sprinted through the labyrinth, the tunnels shaking and echoing with the Terrabeing's rampage, the noise coming from everywhere at once. Heart's mind completely crumpled under the assault as he reverted back to his wild animalistic nature thinking nothing but run run run run RUN

He tore around a corner and found himself at a dead end, the tunnel blocked by a mass of roots. He threw himself upon them, frenziedly hacking and slashing with burning claws in a mad attempt to tear himself an escape.

"Heart? That you?"

Heart spun round, finding Neil standing in the tunnel behind him. He'd seen the bird god's panicked flight and had come to investigate.

"You alright? What happened?"

Heart hissed and bared his teeth, backing up until he was against the root wall. Neil hesitated, remembering where he'd seen that expression before. It was in the eyes of the starving dogs in his home world, in the eyes of the men and women down to their last bullet. It was the look of a trapped and desperate animal and he realised he was standing between it and the exit.

"Sshh, sshh, it's alright Heart, you're safe now." Neil kept his voice low, trying not to panic him. Fighting off a frenzied flaming mass would probably be an unpleasant experience "Calm down, I'm not going to hurt you, sshh..."

His tone and lack of aggression seemed to work. Heart's rapid breathing gradually slowed, the mad light in his eyes fading and replaced by sentience. He became aware that the tunnels were silent, that somehow he'd lost his pursuer. For a few seconds he glanced around as though only now just realising where he was, then as the adrenalin finally left him he sank to the ground, burying his head in his hands and trembling like a leaf.

Neil didn't know what to make of it all "What happened to you? Were you attacked?"

"Missingno," gasped Heart "That...that thing got me..."

"Missingno?" Neil struggled to make the connection "Wait, do you mean the Terrabeing?" he quickly looked over his shoulder, as if saying its name out loud would somehow invoke it.

"Call it what you will," Heart raked his fingers through his mussed red hair "That thing is here and wants to kill me. It will kill all of us and then unravel all of existence itself."

"But it's just a virus, isn't it? Surely it can't do that much harm?"

"Yes, a virus. A thing that infects and devours all it comes across, that tears your DNA asunder and devolves you into nothingness. It's entropy incarnate and it won't rest until we've all been consumed."

Neil glanced behind him at the darkness again. He hadn't given the Terrabeing much thought before, but now he was feeling distinctly unnerved. If it could scare Heart, a creature who claimed to be a god, then just how powerful was it? What hope did he himself have against it?

"Then what can we do?" he asked "If it makes you run scared, what chance do all of us have? What do-" he was cut off as Heart's head snapped upright, a look of revelation on his face.

"That's it, of course!" Heart was on his feet in an instant "I can't stop that thing by myself. Neither can you, neither can anyone. But together we can overcome it. Missingno was made by humans, perverting the course of nature for their own selfish ends. Therefore it's the humans who need to undo their wrongs." He pointed straight at Neil "Neil, we need to find the other humans. We need to unite and take down the abomination together. If they stand alone they will perish, but together they can kill that thing and send it to the damnation it deserves."

Neil frowned "But if the Terrabeing is as dangerous as you say, surely that's suicide? Wouldn't it be best to let someone powerful like Aidrail take him on?"

"What will you think happen if Missingno wins and absorbs him? Do you fancy fighting the end result of that?"

Neil had to admit he had a point "This is going to be dangerous, Heart..."

Heart smiled, a distinctly unnatural expression "Leave Aidrail to me. The light and the darkness can never coexist. When twilight comes we shall see who prevails. But that is a concern for another time. We need to combat this monstrosity first. We need to recruit the other humans. Only together can we overcome that thing. Are you agreed?"

Neil looked into the cavernous darkness, then back at the being in front of him. He swallowed nervously.

"Deal."

Spoiler:
If it is OK with Q and Weldar if you replace someone, though not entirely sure if everything is set in stone or not. But if you can join us and be somewhat active that would be great. Smile

Anything not related to the actual RP it should be in a spoiler. Razz

Re: The Grand Brawl - Round 3: The Battle Complex

Post  Quaetam on Sun May 06, 2012 9:11 pm

Alright, I am getting this off my chest right now, as I've been thinking about it for MONTHS.

Spoiler:
Apparently there is an interest in reviving this. I for one would love to, the fact that this hasn't continued is one of my big regrets here (hte only one I can think of really). I can have a post up pretty quickly (like a week or so, and the reason it'd take THAT long is because of my finals, but beyond that? Before we get anything going, I want to hear who is willing to keep playing. I've heard from Viero, I've heard it from Requiem (who isn't even playing) that it should come back, I've heard this from Weldar, from Raya, from Fedaykin, from Ansem and Avalanche, from td260, from and I know Suicide loved playing this so now that he's back we can think about it.

If I were to revive this, properly (not just a bump like I did here Razz), would you guys be willing to get back into it?

Maybe I don't need to ask given that so many people have said this at different times, but frankly I figure now's the best time to really sit down and talk about it, finally

To look at our characters:

Ansem - Aidrail
hudsonboy111 - Jak
PerryThePlatypus - Takuma Yamauchi
King Avalanche - Zelgius II
TheTJ - Neil Marando
Raya - Heart
Quaetam - Zero
Viero - The Terrabeing v2.5
queen_camilla - "Evangeline"
SuicideAngel - Sirria
td260 - Keith

The ones who I could see being an immediate issue are:

1) Camilla's Evangeline, because she has no forum access.
2) Hudson's Jak unless I talk to hudson and he'd be willing to keep going (which is a shame, he and I had plans, heh.)
3) Suicide's Sirria potentially, due to Suicide being busy with his work. Thing is, I know the GB dying was one of the main reasons he left the forum in the first place.

What I'd suggest for these guys is either straight up cutting any who literally cannot play and proceeding from there, or finding a substitute who's willing to play one of these characters. The main one in question is Evangeline. Given the current state of the game, having reread it and remembered exactly what my plan with td260, TJ, Raya, and Viero was for the upcoming scenes, I know exactly how I could write a round-ender, and write it now, to get things moving and lead to her death. It's a scene I've had in my head for a while, would be a great one too, and would take us to the next stage, from which we can proceed as planned. I'll talk to Weldar about it.

Anyways, we can worry about that once we make a decision. The first step: I need to hear from Ansem, Av, Raya, Viero, td, and TJ if they think it's worth it. Here or via PM or skype. Let's make a decision about this, Gentlemen. I'm up for it, even if it's been a full year.

After asking about it so many times. Of course I would join back up!

DO whatever you need to do to get this rolling again. Which includes writing off Evangeline.

Re: The Grand Brawl - Round 3: The Battle Complex

Post  Weldar on Sun May 06, 2012 10:19 pm

If you guys want to do this go ahead, I'd be happy to see this thing come back to life but have simply let it be since it's not really in my hands. I still remember everything I need for my small part in this.

As for the issue of dropping people there's a few options. With just one or two we can simply just continue and have a couple of forgone conclusion end of round kills sure but if there's a few drops and some people wanted to come in we can make that work too. Q suggested the idea of subbing in and taking over a character but the Minister is the kind of fellow who will pull some strings to make sure his contest runs smoothly. If people really wanted we could simply remove and replace a few characters during the switch, only if there was going to be a few drops though.

Sure I'd be up for it. I've written short stories in the free minutes I've had at work, it won't even be an issue for a simple RP Post.

Spoiler:
Alright guys, even just based on what I'm hearing here I can tell this is a good idea Razz

Weldar has given me the go-ahead for the round ender. Would you gentlemen mind if I did that straightaway? I have a great post in mind, and it can be up probably by this weekend.

That said I am in favor of ending the round now so we can, as I said, get a move-on. Best way to do a revive is with a legitimate kickstart.

Go for it, and for the sake of narrative flow, can a mod delete all these non-story posts?
