Panasonic is back.. the gone.

So... apparently a large consumer electronics company will be teasing/revealing a new videogame-related product tonight on MTV on Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory. The episode that airs tonight at 9:30PM ET/6:30PM PT.

Can't really say much about it yet except that it's something sort of unexpected.

I'm sure there would have be some sort of thread afterwards, so getting it out of the way now. I'm pretty curious to see the NeoGAF reactions, hah. Should be interesting.

What do you guys think? iGame? PSP2?

There was also a rumour running around last friday that a Quad-Core ARM CPU would be included in a new gaming platform.

It fits, but hell, that would be random.

Valve, Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft united under one project.

The world cannot withstand such awesomeness.

"The Jungle"? Really? Does ANYONE really think this is going to get anywhere? Seems silly to me.

The damn thing as a mini-HDMI port, that thing is gonna be HD.

But!

1. It's gonna cost more than a 3DS thus:
2. It's going to make the 3DS look more cheap, thus helping it sell!

HA!

No one will buy it.

Literally, no one in the entire world will buy a jungle. I am sure of it.

Pretty much, wonder what possessed them to even attempt this. Yea, money, but it has to be utterly amazing to accomplish anything against Nintendo and Sony.

Shoot.... I think I'm going to have to buy this at some point...

Not because I want to, mind you. I just can't have a gap in my collection.

*Sigh*

Ok, I know I've criticized some people before about condemning systems to an early failure without knowing much about it (see also: PSP2 rumors), but this seriously looks stupid. Aesthetically, it is not appealing (to me at least) at all, and it looks like (at least from the picture) that it will be bigger than the 3DS and be borderline too-big-to-fit-in-your-pocket status. It reminds me of one of those portable DVD players you'd use on car trips.

And yet I'm kinda interested in what will happen...

Hey, remember that thing Panasonic announced a while back?

Well, it's dead and it's not even out yet.

According to Reuters, the company “decided to suspend further development due to changes in the market and in our own strategic direction.”

In other words: The 3DS was released, the NGP was announced, we **** our pants.

Iwata: (Laughs)
3DS: "One down, one more to go."
