A quest for sanity, The Legend of Zelda: Parallel Worlds.

Post  Bugman on Sat Oct 23, 2010 2:16 am

Going against many people's advice, I'm will be going trough both quests of The Legend of Zelda: Parallel Worlds. If you don't know what Parallel Worlds is... maybe that's for the better (to the general consensus, anyway.)

You probably guessed it by looking at the title screen, Parallel Worlds is a A Link to the Past rom hack, known for it's difficulty (though it's not as bad as most Super Mario World's rom hack) and overuse of Beamos statues (understatement). This hack is literally said to make you lose your mind.

The game does seems to have some qualities. Many sprites were re-done and upgraded, there is a second upgrade to the magic meter and it replenish by itself over time.

I will be going trough both quests of the game. Follow my example and do the same (if you dare) or just check this topic for my updates on my progression (and my eventual downfall to insanity.)

According to the 2 guys who made this rom hack, it took 5 years.

I just began my playtrough and already died once, which makes me realize how much the save system for the rom hack is ****.

Go right of Kakariko, pass the graveyard there's a Church. *Pro tip: Inside the Church go up the stairs on the right and open the chest. There's a full heart container in it, trust me you'll need it.*

After that, go out the Church go down and jump the ledge, there's a cavern, go all the way there to find the lantern (don't pay attention to the big blue statue that was part of the first dungeon's boss in ALTTP, you can't beat it anyway). Go out and return to Kakariko. There's an cavern entrance surrounded by water, enter there.
