awesome backstory, fed. but idk if raya and ansem are gonna be okay with it.
Our personalities are sucked from this world to Dragnia, afterall, i don't think we're supposed to have a life led over there.

Still, awesome character. Also interesting, since Ansem will be playing a Necromancer XD

Yes Fed, you being a zombie makes you officially my jurisdiction, nice.
That being said, here's my feedback:

You are You. You were transported from your nice, cosy home, while you were browsing the forum. In the summoning you can be transformed into a Zombie, but you dont have an alternate background Wink That would be silly.
And the brain eating is similair to the Souldraining ability of Requiem, wich we thought was too OP. Besides, it doesnt make sense, Heroes explained that.

What i just thought off: What if you did like: You eat someones brain, you get their ability. But if you eat someone elses, you switch to that ability, to an extent. You can only have 1 stolen ability. Same with requiem. That could prove interesting.

Ehehe, I like the zombie idea, Feday. Although as been pointed out your character is you, sucked into this world. You haven't got a backstory in Dragnia. Admittedly the idea of you waking up in this world and finding out that you're dead is rather hilarious...

I agree with Ansem's suggestion of only having one ability at a time (otherwise, what with the opponents you face, you'll quickly become very powerful), but feel free to keep the lingering remnants of their memories. Should be rather...angsty.

Minby_Aran wrote:

You'll know each other. Which should prove interesting when you bump into someone with a very familiar sounding name...

Requiem wrote:I've already spoken with Raya on the count of my powers and had it cleared.

I've already told you though how experience is not a concrete term here. It's a guideline. I'm honestly not expecting you all to keep track of numbers. Just be sensible and don't abuse it.

If I understood you correctly,I may keep the necromancy as main ability and gain one extra ability for the brain of a person I have eaten? This is fine, I can explain that with limited storage capacity of my own brain. But like flashdrives,if you delete something from it,bits may remain. The lifeforce thingy is ok with you?

Backstorywise, I wake up, feeling rather strange, I'm in the middle of a pool of blood, a corpse next to me with the skull cracked open. I suddenly have a flashback from the other guy's memories: he summoned me using dark magic, I got twisted in the process, went ferral and ate him. And then going on and such. Sounds good enough?

Thanks for the feedback btw ^^

that could work Fed. It's a good intro post.

And i'd say: Take the necromancy as power, but if you eat someone's brain, you'll lose it. See it as a placeholder, not as an Extra. Besides, if you're dedicated, you could always learn Necromancy, or anything else, the hard way. And as for the Flashdrives, yeah, keep the memories. Not all of them, but some key ones. ONce you'll eat someones brain who really matters, i'll send you a PM with the info you'll get.

And yeah. Most of you have seen my face in the Your face here thread, including me in robes, so if you'd spot me in a crowd, you could recognise me, right?

I usually don't read peoples Bios in RPs. I feel like since my character doesnt know these people or their backstories, I shouldn't either. My question is, since this is an RP in which the characters are people I know, should I read the backstories?

Despite them being zombies, horses, and stupid shit like that?

There are no backstories. The only story there is is the story of your life. But people keep mistaking it for: Oh, im just gonna make a character like in every other Rp. Weird huh?

I got told I'm allowed to make a character as a potential backup, so, here's me. :3

Name: Camilla. Obviously. Razz

Race: Still human.

Appearance: Well...I look like me. About 5'9", average weight, messy brown-blonde hair that can't sit nicely, dresses pretty casually (lots of floral and pastel)...yeah. Not to mention the D cups of justice. Wink

Preferred weapon: CAT SLINGSHOT.
CAAAAAAT SLINGSHOT.
but seriously, polearms. I am really bad at fighting (unless it involves words), so I can hit people/creatures with sticks, and some very, very light offensive/healing magic.

Abilities: I've always been pretty good at getting along with animals. Now I can actually understand them as if they were talking English. Well, only my trusty cat Sasha at first, but from then on I get to understand more and more of them.
I have the tiniest bit of magic - enough to perform basic offensive and defensive and healing magic, but in emergencies, I am not the person to go to. Maybe on weak enemies if we have heaps of time.
But the understanding animals and nature is the main thing. Talking with them, even acting like them at times (shapeshifting in the future?). It's not exactly a helpful battle skill but it helps to stay alive.

Personality: A little kooky, angsty, rather odd...tends to get down a bit and mope, can be rather cynical, and sometimes stubborn but sometimes easily pushed around, depending on mood. Has 20/20 hindsight, but very limited foresight. Wink Has a good ability to screw things up, but can still cheer people up regardless.

Misc: Doesn't really have any goals, apart from proving that I'm not mediocre. And getting back home, of course.

Re: Dark Before The Dawn- setup thread

Post  Spontaneous Combustion on Sun Dec 12, 2010 4:36 am

Aaaaand here we go. Thanks to Fed for giving me a little idea.
I might have gone a bit too far with this. I don't give a damn.

Name: Doctor Spontimus von Combustovich the Fifth

Race: A small steam-powered robot made of wood, tin and iron

Appearance: Made out of wood, tin and iron that's been haphazardly strung together with bursts of steam extruding from the holes. Two ridiculously small feet and two ridiculously small arms, one of them holding a little cane. His head is big and round and has red camera-like eyes all over it. Robotic grin. Robotic moustache.
Wears a ridiculous top hat and a little black jacket.

Preferred weapon: His pathetic little cane. Also, explosives stored in his hat. Lots of explosives.

Abilities: Dr. Spontimus von Combustovich the Fifth is an expert stage magician with a proficiency in deception and shit blowing up. He is not a doctor in the literal sense.
At first he will only be capable of cute stuff such as pulling a rabbit out of his hat, but as the game progresses, there will be some Portal shit going on with that hat.
Also, he likes fireworks and knows how to use them.
Personality: All around nice person...robot...thing with some...oddities, to put it lightly. Completely hilarious, but it's not exactly sure if he's trying to be funny.
Likes to sing. A bit of a deceptive bastard. Play the game to find out.

Misc: Not very good in any other stats, but his speed and evasion is legendary because he is very, very hard to hit for obvious reasons.
Did I mention the fireworks?

Spont, you took this shit to an all new level.

Personally,I'd like to keep the necromancy as a permanent skill, because my character approaches the whole topic from the opposite direction than yours, Ansem. Working together, we could achieve breakthroughs deemed impossible before, think about it Razz
