Spoiler:
Ok, next post I have I'll be waking up in a small town just outside of Wyndia, and I'll let the story go on from there- FYI, I'm posting this placeholder since I filled in the previous one- albiet, the post is really short, but since my school hates free time, they decide the days right before a break are the best days to have tests. >.>

Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

The black armoured knights steadily advanced forth, in an almost mechanical precision they walked in sync. Their infamous silence filled the air around them, making it feel like all sound from their direction was sucked away.
Vandir's men gathered quickly, standing side by side to prevent any openings. Vandir took off the massive claymore that was bound to his back and held it to arms. Shouting commands at his men, he pressed the attack as they ran forward towards the footsoldiers, engaging combat. The sound of metal clashing echoed throughout the clearing in the forest.
The black knights fended off the first strike with an overwhelming power, and immediatly pushed Vandir's men back as the swords rebounded of their black shields. With a synchronized step forward, they all brung their swords up and slashed down. In an effort to dodge the hazard, Vandir's men were immediatly scattered except for Vandir himself. With his claymore held above his head, supported with both hands. With tremendous power he pushed 2 of the black knights back as the rest of his men went 2 against one on the other knights. With large swings, he paced forward, making the knights back down, and breaking their formation. His companions fought hard against the other knights, but with 2 against one, they were managing.

One of the knights tried to see an opening in Vandir's swing, and stepped in just as the claymore had passed, intending to slash at him. But instead he got reacquainted with the large pommel on Vandir's sword, as it got slammed into his helmet. The knight stumbled back as the other one stepped forward, sure of his chances to strike as he raised his sword. But before he could strike, Vandir's boot blasted into the chainmail covering his stomach. The man flew back a few feet and landed on his back with the heavy armor.

"AAAAAAAAH", a scream sounded. Vandir turned quickly, to see one of his men near the forest lines fall down after the black knight's blade raked across his arm. 'Goddammit', Vandir thought, 'if we lose our numbers, we're done for!'
The man was severely injured and soon his comrade would follow, with the black knight overpowering him easily now. Vandir had to get back to fending off his assailant, while the other was still on his back. He couldn't come to their aide.

Suddenly a loud gallop sounded from the woods, and before the black clad soldier that had just struck down one of vandir's men could notice, a large black blur bashed into it at full speed. The large black horse stumbled and fell over the black armoured soldier, crushing it under it's weight.
Perry and Gwendolyn fell into the grass with a loud thud.
Confusion befell upon the men that were fighting, but as soon as Vandir layed eyes on Gwendolyn he snapped out of it. The soldier infront of him hadn't yet, however and Vandir raised his claymore to the sky. With a tremendous force did the claymore soar down onto the soldiers neck, ripping through the black armor like it was a napkin. A spray of blood flew out of the knight's wounds as it fell to the ground.

Perry grabbed the axes he had worn around his waist, getting ready to defend himself, but Gwendolyn had other plans. She had put her hands together, and while she muttered in a strange language he could not understand, glowing runes circled around her hands. In immediate reaction, a glowing glyph formed around the feet of the black armoured soldier that had been battling the other 2 men. The knight dropped his weapon and shield and bend over backwards in an unnatural fashion as his body looked strained.
"NOW CHAMPION! He can't move for the moment!", Gwendolyn shouted at Perry, who was staring at the cursed man for a while. Was this magic? He'd seen the barrier before but with everything going on, he hadn't thought about it yet. This all seemed so surreal, as if he was in a video game, with shiny special effects.
"FAUN!", Gwendolyn shouted again, clearly strained from the spell. Perry snapped out of it, grabbing his axes tightly in his hands and dashed forward. He didn't even know what he was doing, but the surrealism of it all made this seem more and more like this was the right thing to do.
He jumped high into the sky and raised both weapons into the sky, bringing them down onto the knight with full force. Perry tried not to look, but as he swung down his eyes met those of the man he was targeting. In the darkness behind his helmet, he could feel the man stare at him just before the twin axes shredded down onto the armor and flesh.
Blood flew through the air, and a bolded number appeared in the sky above the two, shaking as if something tremendous had just happened. Perry took a step back and stared at the number with a dazzled look on his face. What was this? A... a damage counter?
He turned to Gwendolyn, but as he did he saw the horror on her face just as she screamed.
"VANDIR! BEHIND YOU!"

A rotten figure had emerged behind Vandir, with teeth barren and crouching to jump. Vandir turned around in a split second, but didnt raise arms at the creature, as it jumped onto the knocked back soldier that Vandir had been fighting off earlier. Perry looked away, the sound of metal clattering around and the wet sounds of flesh sputtering around were graphic enough.

Vandir laughed at the two's reaction and slowly walked towards the new arrivals. "Gwendolyn!", he said with a smile. "So glad you made it. You were just in time."
"VANDIR! WHAT IS THAT THING?!"
, Gwendolyn shrieked.
"Why, our champion ofcourse. Nyall did the summoning afterall... though i guess it got the best of him.", Vandir said snickering at the woman's reaction. "Don't worry, it has shown SOME sort of intelligence so far, though it got us into this mess."
"Where's Faeren? Is he not with you?", Vandir asked. Immediatly spotting Gwendolyn's missing escorts.
Gwendolyn's expression immediatly turned sullen. "They... they didn't make it. We were attacked by horsemen during the summoning..."
"Oh"
, Vandir said taken aback. "May the gods have mercy upon the little fellas....", he said solemn.
"And who is the big one? Did you still manage to complete the summoning?", he said while nudging his head in Perry's direction.
"I guess I am 'the other champion' ", Perry responded for himself. "Though i have no idea what in the world is going on..."
Vandir's expression turned grave. "Another one, eh? You'd think that they'd atleast inform you guys in the other world if you're going to be champions"
"Just be quiet and roll with us. We have to get you to Wyndia as soon as possible!"
, he said.
"I wondered where I heard that before", Perry said, glancing at Gwen.

In the background, Vandir's men were helping the wounded soldier, tending to his arm and preventing any more blood loss.
"Go talk to the other guy", Vandir said, gesturing at the menacing figure that just arose out of the bloody pulp that used to be the black knight. "Maybe you two can dabble in how confused you are."
"Gwen, we need to talk", Vandir took the woman by the arm and dragged her away, leaving Perry standing there while the creature wandered closer.

Perry didn't let go of his axes, he could feel an unnerving aura pouring off the person. It was tall and while it seemed gray and rotting before, it's complexion returned as it's flesh restored. Slowly perry seemed to recognise the features of a person, and even the person. He'd seen this face somewhere before.
"...Feday?", Perry spoke hesistantly.

"Perry?", a croaky voice returned with a german accent.

"Come on, pick your feet up. I swear to Gorb, if you don't hurry the fuck up, I am going to pull a rune out on your ass."

"Meeeeeeh"

A group of burly men sludged through the muddy plains. Two men grabbed Ryan, and drug him through the mud. There was no way in hell he was going to make their job any easier, therefore he refused to walk.

"Tell me, obnoxious one, what is your name?"

"First of all, Fuck you." Ryan looked up at the aggitated, but still very patient man. If this is really happening, then I had better listen to that woman. Trust no one. "Snake. My name is Snake. Snake... InABox."

"Well then, Snake InABox, please feast your eyes on our destination. The Great City of Wyndia!"

"Hehheh" Snake laughed to himself. "Works every ti-" He looked up to see a great golden wall, shining bright despite the gray and black clouds overhead. A gate opened, and he was pulled into the city. Winged people were flying above them, and the city itself was as integrated as Casablanca. However, this was not a place to wait. This was a place to live. The men put Snake down, and walked to a large building. Looked official. Snake followed them in without a word. Inside were another group of people, sitting at a table muttering to each other. One of them was staring at a blonde woman, the woman rolling her eyes. Snake pulled up a seat next to them cleared his throat, took out his butter knife, and placed it on the table, as if to say "Look at me, I have a weapon."

"This Wizard of Oz Shit is fun and all, but can someone tell me what the Fuck is going on?"

Post  Fedaykin on Mon Dec 27, 2010 2:16 pm

"What the hell are you doing, man? This is disgusting, you know! What happened to you?", the Dutch Faun yelled. Perry realised, that it could be a bad idea to talk like that to a... person he barely knew over the internet, who kneeled in gore and flesh of that unlucky bastar, he had just lept on. Too late, the shock had hit him hard.
"Well, aaaahmm... I'm having lunch?" Fed's voice was barely audible, his restoring flesh seemed to blush with shame, as he looked from Perry's face down himself, the robe covered in blood(again), small pile of gore around him. "Where are my manners, sorry, there's not much left, do you want some? You look so pale, you better eat something..." Fed noticed the signs of horror in Perrys' face, but kept on rambling"...aren't you freezing, just wearing that ridiculous wool trousers? As for my... condition, I don't really know. I was summoned here somehow, as you were probably as well, if memory serves me. I think, that Nyall did something wrong or maybe the higher background radiation at work messed things up, I ended like THIS." Fed paused and stared Perry in the eyes with his strange orange glowing gaze. "I'm a dead man walking, literally. I'm the coolest guy you'll ever meet, as my body doesn't produce any heat anymore. Even if you all leave me, I'll not be alone. I have the company of a necromancer in my brain, because I ate his, which left me with his memories. When I ate this soldier here, his energy surged through me and now I begin understanding things... but I'm still a monster!"
Perry stepped back, as the former Austrian attempted to come closer. "Dude, calm down... look at me. You are not alone, we both had our share of surprises." Keeping the distance, he told Fed his adventure so far. Now it was the Zombie's turn to look closer and be astonished."You killed one of those with an axethrow...? Badass." The croaky voice expressed admiration. Perry blushed, "You know, you gotta do, what you gotta do..."

"I am very sorry to interrupt you two lovedoves, but there are some pressing concerns we should concentrate on." Vandir came closer, leading one horse on the bridle, while Gwendolyn followed him in short distance. "Look, champions, we have to make haste. Windya is not that far away from here. I ordered my men to cover us, as best as they can without getting themselves killed. Faun, Gwen told me, that you are a capable runner and you seem to be in a good shape as well. I'm pretty sure, that you can follow us, while we are on horseback. The problem is, I don't know what to do with this thing." He nodded towards Fedaykin. "Gwen and I share the concerns. After that little stunt here, we are not sure if we want him sitting behind us. The horses seem to be unnerved by his presence as well, so we have a problem." Perry and Fed looked at each other in confusion. Then the Undead had an idea and spoke up "Perry, there is a solution... I could mount you... from behind. "WHAT?!?!?!?" Fedaykin ignored the interjection"Now don't get me wrong, we barely know each other and stuff, but I think I must ride you, I'd have to be on top." "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR GODDAMN MIND, MAN? WE ARE IN A DIRE SITUATION AND YOU... Now Perry was interrupted by an outburst of laughter. Vandir was shaking from amusement, while Gwendolyn stood there, mouth opened an unable to speak. "I get, what that thing is aiming at. You are a fast and strong runner, give it a piggyback-ride. You know each other, I bet he won't touch your grey matter. You are the closest thing to its home, you'll be safe. So, this is settled, let's get moving." Without a second glance, Vandir helped Gwendolyn in her saddle and jumped onto his in an elegant movement.

Perry stood there, puzzled and watched. A sudden impact from behind and something wrapping itself around neck and waste made him snap back to reality. He heared the croaky, german-accented voice near his ear. "You heared the man, full speed ahead!" Perry sneared. "You know, that you owe me something, right? And don't you dare to crack my skull, you'd regret it!""Naaah, don't you worry. You are too horny." "..."

"Ah, I see they're already here," Vandir said as he approached the Tree of Trivia.

"Well, let's see what kind of champion the priest managed to summon," Gwen responded.

___

"Ah, there you are," Albrecht greeted the newcomers. "We've been waiting for you."

"Jesus. What happened to you guys?" Sahrimnir asked when he saw the wounded soldiers approaching.

"We were attacked," Vandir answered him.

"I can see that," Sahrimnir said and immediately started using his newfound healing powers on the soldiers.

As Sahrimnir was healing people, his face was suddenly recognized by the faun.

"Sahrimnir?"

"What?" Sahrimnir looked up. "Perry? Is that you?"

"Yup. Fedaykin is here too, Perry responded and gestured to the creature riding on his back.

"Jesus, Fed. You look like hell. Here, let me see that."

"Um, I don't think that's a very good idea..."

"It burrrrnsss!"

"Oh crap! I'm so sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

"Just don't try to heal me again."

"I won't. I promise... Wait, if the two of you are also champions, does this mean all the champions are actually people from the There Will Be Brawl-forum?"

"It seems so," Perry answered.

"Let's get to Wyndia quickly then. I want to make sure the others are all right."

As the party started moving, Perry asked "So, what kind of adventures have you had?"

"The great winged warrior felled a bear," Berk answered him.

"You defeated a bear? How? You don't seem to be armed."

"It's no big deal. I threw my cell phone at it and it got stuck in the bear's mouth so the bear choked."

Perry and Fedaykin looked at Sahrimnir in astonishment.

"My phone is all wet and gooey now," Sahrimnir continued with a sad face.

"Hey! If you guys are done chatting, we can get our move on. Sun is rising, and we need to be in Wyndia soon. We can't keep the Council waiting!"
Vandir yelled at the 3 Champions catching up. The man looked tense, as if he suspected more trouble ahead.
Fedaykin looked at Perry and smiled broadly. "Guess i have to mount up again, sucks..."
Perry sighed, but Albrecht quickly intervened.
"No no, we're not in possession of horses, we'll all have to walk."
"Guess you'll have to carry your ass yourself there fed. Sucks"
The three of them laughed, happy to find a little comfort and joy in this strange world, filled with danger and angry guys with Claymores on their backs. They set off in the direction of Wyndia, a clear path cut trough the woods. The light of the sun was getting brighter and brighter, and as they walked, they all saw the exit of the forest, greeting them with a bright, white light. As they left the woods behind them, they too saw the magnificent city of Wyndia, greeting them with her almost golden walls.
"Welcome, champions, in the City of Wyndia!" Albrecht exclaimed as they walked trough the gates. The champions were slack jawed, eyes widened and eyes even a little tearful at one point, when a beautiful winged lady welcomed them.
"Ah, such a joy to see you arrive safely, my love." She said with a voice that almost sounded like singing. Everything about her being was wonderful, yet she only seemed to have eyes for the captain. Vandir smiled and embraced her softly. "I've only been gone for a day, Larissa. No need to get sentimental."
Larissa smiled, and that subtle gesture was enough to uplift the spirit of every man walking past the small group.
One of Vandir's men gave Fedaykin a hood. "Cover your face. We dont need the panic, even if you look better now than you did before."

Larissa spoke again, with that voice like the chimes of a bell.
"Well, you've been fighting and running again, so you need your rest. We'll meet you at the Council building, i suppose? No buts Vandir, i wont have it. Ill escort your champions to the Hall myself, no need to worry."
With a slight grumble, removed by a slight kiss on the cheek, Vandir said his goodbyes to the three and went off.
"Well, let me introduce myself then. I am Larissa Vitae, a member of the High Council, who tasked the summoners with the job to summon you, our Champions, to Dragnia. The details will all be revealed shortly, when you're all assembled. I'm guessing we're a little late, so we'd best get to it, shall we?"
No man could oppose to that voice, so they all sheepishly followed the Woman, who seemed to float trough the city streets. Everywhere they went, men took of their hats, women courtesied and soldiers saluted the Council Member. She didn't bat an eye when she saw Fedaykin's face, or Perry's horns and hoofs, and she even smiled a little when seeing Sahrimnirs wings. They followed her, straight to a large, round Building, in the middle of the city, surrounded by a large garden. As they entered the building, Larissa led them to a large wooden door.
"Now, behind this door lies the gathering room. All Champions will be gathered here, and once you're all here, we'll tell you all about why you were summoned. I have to meet some other members, so you three go ahead and meet up. Make friends, and i'll see you in a bit"

With those words, Larissa turned in a corridor and left, leaving the three champions standing in front of that door.
"Well, i guess we'll find out of other members of the forums were summoned."
"I guess so"
"Let's go, Immer grade ausch"

Gh'u and Fred scratched their head. Both of them had trouble reading the weird metal guy who walked beside him. So far, they kind of explained why he was here, but they weren't sure that he'd understand. He didn't speak much, just muttered perkele a lot. But now they were in the city of Wyndia, the journey wasn't particularly long, they didn't encounter the Army, no Pick up group was there to get them, and their Champion was weird and didn't speak. Fantastic. The wooden door to the Gathering room doomed before them.
"Well, Champion...This is it. Behind this door are the other Champions. We're just Summoners, so we're not allowed. We need to report now, so you'd best get in here...I guess this is good bye...so, goodbye?"
Fred didn't know what to say to the guy. This was just to absurd, they were going to be the laughing stock of the summoners....

Spont decided to 'man the fuck up' and openend the door.

"Man this thing is heavy...urgh...That's definitely what she said..."
"It's because you're carrying a champion, or else i would've punched you in the face Nick!"
Nikolai smiled sneakily and turned his head a bit.
"You keep finding these excuses to not punch me, i guess you really like me hu-OW! Damnit woman, im carrying a champion here!"
Vera retreated her first and layed her hand on Nick's face.
"Ssh, lets not attract too much attention here, Wyndia is a safe haven, but you can never be to careful, ok?"
"Right...."
As the two were walking, the champion started to wake up, finally, geez.
"Wha...Whats happening...."
"Don't worry champion, you're safe. We're going to bring you to your companions now, so you just relax. Can you walk?"
"hmmrz...I dont think so....uhh....where am i?"
"You're in the city of Wyndia, home to the High Council."
"Sure...."
"Oh look, it's Biggs. Biggs! Over here. What with the wheelbarrooooh, your champion is out cold too?'
"Ahjup, He's slowly waking up. Me and Wedge are trying to explain this scrawny fellow that he's a warrior of Dawn, but he doesn't seem to get it."
"Haha, i haven't even got the time to explain mine what he is."

Soon the six of them came across a large wooden door. Nikolai put the champion down, still shaky in his, really ridiculous short shorts, but now standing up. Still a fuzzy head though. The other one was helped out of the wheelbarrow, slowly gaining consciousness.
"right, its in there. The Gathering room. You should go, we need to report."
"Ok....Who are you again...never mind, i'll just go..."
"Yeah...right....imma....ok....."
With those words, the 'champion entered the Gathering room.

Sebastian Arrived with his champion in Wyndia. A sad look on both their faces. All of their comrades were scattered, lost. It wasn't even sure they still lived. What would happen to them, if they were captured. While that question went trough the head of Weldar, Sebastian already knew the answer. With a grim look, they strode towards the Council hall. People rushed by, soldiers, townsfolk. They didn't not see them, they did not see their sadness. Why would they. They had their own problems. And so, hundreds of problems surged trough the air, though none of them as painful as theirs.
Every step echoed trough the halls, empty, void of life. Each tap represented a step closer to their goal. He was safe. Were the others. The Horse, was it even a Champion. Was he even a Champion.
"I have to go now, beyond this door is the Gathering hall for you and your companions. I have to report, and then return with a platoon to see if the others...well...good luck..."
"You too Sebastian. Thank you, for everything..."

With those words, Weldar sighed, took a deep breath and walked into the room.

Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  Raya on Wed Dec 29, 2010 3:15 pm

One by one the members of the Brawl forums began entering the meeting room. There were exclamations of delight as familiar faces were recognised, raised eyebrows at those who certainly now seemed different to their photos. The room itself was apparently used for cabinet meetings, the centre dominated by an immense round oaken table. A set of plush chairs crowded around the bottom half of the table, obviously for them, whilst separated at the head of the table stood three much more ornate ones.

"Perry?" asked Avalanche incredulously as the faun nervously trotted in, trying to place the faces present.

"Yeah. Uh, hi." He noticed Avalanche staring him up and down "Don't ask. Your guess is as good as mine."

"Hopefully we'll get some answers here. This whole day has been nothing but problems." He paused as a rather unpleasant thought suddenly struck him "Hang on, do you even still have..." he gestured towards Perry's furry hindquarters "Ah..."

"Yes, yes I do. First thing I checked. Don't ask again."

"I'd have thought the fur woul-"

They were interrupted by Larissa loudly clearing her throat. Her eyes flickered across the assembled Champions, noticing with some concern that there were not as many as there had been summoning parties. She did not let it show. "Please, my chosen ones, take your seats. I'm sure you have many questions. We will begin shortly." As the members sat down around the great round table- some a lot more gracefully than others- their escorts filed out of room, leaving only Vandir and the guardsmen at the door. Larissa made her way towards the three empty chairs at the head of the table and smiled warmly "Champions, may I please introduce the King of Wyndia and his daughter, Princess Nina."

The guardsmen stood aside, allowing two figures to enter the room. One was an aging man, his hair long since turned grey, bedecked in the finest fur-trimmed robes. Behind him hung a pair of magnificent white wings, the primaries curled with age. Following came a young girl, perhaps only in her mid teens, with hair of golden flax and wings the colour of the purest snow. Larissa bowed to the pair and allowed them to take their seats before sliding down into her own.

"My friends," beamed the King, his arms spread wide "I'm overjoyed at your arrival. I trust your journey has not been too hard on you."

There was silence from the other end of the table. Snake slid forward on his arm and vocalised what everyone else was thinking.

"Just what the fuck is going on here?"

The very direct approach took the King by surprise "I'm sorry, beg your pardon?"

"I said, what the fuck is going on? We're all at home then there's flashing lights and magic and shit, then we end up here and there's cliches and talking dogs and Spont is a robot. What the FUCK, seriously."

"Allow me," spoke Larissa, gently laying her hand upon the rather surprised king's arm "Our world is in terrible danger. The forces of darkness threaten to overwhelm us and for all our might, all our magic, we cannot hope to hold back the tide. This Nameless Army is cutting a swath through our lands, crushing all underfoot. Unless a miracle happens we all shall be lost in an eternal night. And that is why we have called you all here." Her gaze travelled around the table, meeting each of theirs in turn "According to our most ancient legends, in the time of our greatest peril great warriors from another world will rise up to save our own. Their strength, their comradeship, will be the golden dawn that will burn away the darkness and deliver us from annihilation."

There was a moment of silence before Snake broke it again.

"What the fuck."

"Hang on a minute," interjected Raya "Are you telling us that you forcibly kidnapped us from our own world for the sole purpose of making us fight some overwhelming force of evil you guys can't stop yourselves?"

Td glanced around at the others "I don't know about you guys but I'm sure as hell not a great warrior. Unless the final boss fancies a showdown on SSBB I fail to see how we stand a chance in the first place."

Larissa smiled softly "The deep magic did not choose you by accident. All of you, for good or evil, have great power within yourselves. You are the only ones capable of saving our world, and I believe that all of you can fulfil your destiny." She nodded to those that were no longer human "That is why your physical selves have changed. The summoning has chosen a form more suited for your purpose. Even those who remain physically the same may find themselves changed in some way. But we have time to discuss that later. Now, your sacred task."

She stood up and collected a scroll from its resting place on the side, spreading it open on the table. The members stood up, trying to make out the details. Larissa's delicate fingers traced out a path on the map, pointing out each city state in turn.

Spoiler:

"Wyndia, our own glorious and peaceful province, home of the winged folk and a nation of scholars and sorcerers.

Highland, a mountainous region ruled by an alliance of humans and dwarves. A tough, industrious nation of strong warriors and our greatest allies.

Leknaat, a devoutly religious city states dedicated to the worship of L'Ohora, the goddess of life. Their Holy Orders of paladins are powerful, but they shun the non-humanfolk.

Canis, land of the kobolds. Garrulous and friendly, what they lack in physical strength they make up for in bravery and shrewdness.

Treyfeld, the great grasslands, home of countless nomadic tribes that hunt the great beasts there. Immensely territorial and with customs that sound bizarre to our cultured ears.

Worent, home of the proud warrior catfolk, the Worens. A once green and pleasant land, from reports it is the latest to fall to the Army. Who knows the fate of its people?

Mousillon, the cursed province. Already a city state of ill-repute, it was the first to be savaged by the Army. Now all manner of monsters and undead openly stalk a land that hasn't felt the sun's touch for many months.

Sylvania, home to the elves and other fae creatures. They are extremely xenophobic and refuse to deal with the other races. It is unknown what lies beyond their borders; the fae guard their secrets jealously."

"The city states have never seen eye to eye," grumbled the King, adjusting his beard "Each keeps its own counsel. That's the problem. Each has its own particular way of dealing with threats, and each thinks they can stand alone and combat the Army by itself. But this Nameless Army...they have powers beyond our comprehension. Whoever's behind it knows what they're doing. Mousillon was gone before we even knew it. And Worent, Worent, of all places! Fallen to the sword!" he shook his head sadly "And this is why we summoned you, brave Champions, to prevent Wyndia succumbing to the same fate."

"This is what we ask of you," spoke Larissa "Please, seek out the rulers of the city states, show them the terrible fate that lies in store for them if we all stand apart. Convince them to unite as one and drive back this evil from whence it came. They listen not to us, thinking we're merely trying to advance Wyndia's own status, but they must listen to you. Are you not beings of legends?"

"There is another task also," continued the King "Every plague has its source, every snake its head. There must be someone behind the Army, a High Commander overseeing this wretched war. If you find them, kill them and their generals, then surely the Army's power will be broken and victory will be ours."

Fedaykin suddenly slammed his fists into the table, causing everyone to jump "Now wait just a minute, what the hell makes you think we're going to agree to all this?!" he flung his arms wide at the others "You've ripped us from our homes! We have family and friends back there! What's going to happen when they find us missing? Then you make us into THIS," he gestured at himself, Spont and Perry "And expect us to risk our lives to save a world we know nothing about?!" he sat down heavily and folded his arms "I don't see why we should."

"Please, you HAVE to!" To everyone's surprise the Princess leapt to her feet, anger and despair filling her timid voice "You're the only chance we have! I'm sorry we've stolen you from your home world, I'm sorry we've changed you, but please, you have to help us! Without you the Army will reach Wyndia and all of our people will die. There's no way our soldiers can stand up to such a force. Please," tears rolled freely down her face "Please, help us."

"Well," said Ansem, winking at the Princess "A pretty girl like you is reason enough for me. What's say we take a walk after this and you ca-" he was cut short by a clip round the ear from Raya.

Larissa smiled "Have none of you ever wanted to be heroes? Have none of you ever dreamed of wielding great power, of saving the world? This is your chance to change the future. I see the greatness that lies within you all. I know you will succeed. I know you will become the great champions of dawn...and the heroes you have only dreamed of before."

"It's getting late," the King got to his feet "I'm sure it's been a long day for everyone. I've arranged rooms at the castle for you all." He nodded towards Vandir "Vandir will take you there and show you to the armoury. After that feel free to wander around the castle. Help yourself to whatever you desire. Tonight you are my most privileged guests. Tomorrow, your quest begins."

----------------

"And this," announced Vandir, swinging wide the double doors "Is the armoury."

The members filed in behind him, eyes growing as wide as saucers. The vault beyond was filled to the brim with every conceivable kind of weaponry. Longswords, broadswords, crossbows, falchions, halberds, staffs, staves, scythes, mauls, countless categories of weapons hanging from the walls or propped up in stands.

"Feel free to choose one you're most comfortable with," continued Vandir "I'm sure ther-" he glanced round and realised he was alone; the group had bolted and were currently ransacking the vault like kids in a candy shop.

Perry hefted up two particularly badass axes, trying to decide which was his particular favourite "Hey, Raya, which one do you think?"

Raya looked up from where she was rummaging through a shelf and rolled her eyes "Does it honestly matter? It's not like we know how to use any of these weapons." She attempted a few clumsy swings with a hand axe, put it back down and picked up a pair of swords "We'd have to go through years of training just to-" suddenly in a blur of motion the swords cut a blazing web of steel in front of her. She froze in shock "What the hell was that?!"

Perry scratched his beard "Larissa did say that everyone has been changed by this world...maybe we've all learnt to wield weapons too. Guess you can swordfight now."

He turned as Vandir's voice shouted out across the room "Once you've done here feel free to amuse yourselves in the castle. The servants will take you to your rooms when you're ready."

Spoiler:
You guys have free run of the castle tonight. Mingle, get a new wardrobe, choose your weapons and have fun!

Post  Sahrimnir on Wed Dec 29, 2010 4:33 pm

So, now I'm supposed to be some kind of hero and save the world.

Sahrimnir was scared and confused, but still somehow he felt excited.

A hero. I will be a real hero. I've had many dreams before where I was a hero and saved people, but this doesn't feel like a dream.

As Sahrimnir walked through the armory, he saw something that really caught his fancy.

That sword. It's beautiful.

Sahrimnir grabbed the longsword and waved it in front of him.

It's like I've always known how to use a sword. I did practice fencing for three years, but this isn't a rapier. Also, I've never been this good with one.

Sahrimnir also grabbed a shield that seemed to go together with his new sword and then he decided to see if he could find some armor.

I'm lucky there are so many people with wings here. Otherwise it would probably be hard to find armor that fits me.

Sahrimnir quickly found a suit of chain mail with two extra holes in the back and tried it on.

Yes, this is good. I am ready.

Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  Perry on Wed Dec 29, 2010 4:40 pm

Slowly Perry got used to the rapidly expanding world around him. Perhaps it was the company of another clueless person making him feel less lost, or perhaps a part of him felt that this was right. They had arrived at the city of Wyndia, and he got more and more settled into the surrealism of the location.
This place was just like the videogames he played and got immersed in.....

His group was taken to the courthall, and they were sent in. A large table stood in the middle, with quite a few people surrounding it.
Just like he recognised Feday he immediatly recognised some of the faces as they confirmed his earlier suspiscions. Relm's recent update of the forum's faces helped aswell... 'Snake, Weldar, Ansem, blonde girl equals Raya, Roy, horse, robot, and random dudes (minby, td, tj?)'
The faun didn't hesitate for a second and immediatly walked towards his former classmate. An expression of recognition fell on Avalanche's face as he saw Perry walking towards him halfnaked.

"Koen?" asked Avalanche incredulously as the faun nervously trotted in, trying to place the faces present.

"Jep. Uh, hoi." He noticed Avalanche staring him up and down "Ja ik weet het. Ik sta net zo verbaasd als jij."

"Hopelijk krijgen we te weten wat er in godsnaam aan de hand is. Laten we maar zeggen dat het tot nu toe geen goeie dag is geweest." He paused as a rather unpleasant thought suddenly struck him "Wacht 's... Hoe zit het met je.. Heb je nog steeds je.." he gestured towards Perry's furry hindquarters "uh..."

"Ja. ja die leeft nog. Eerste waar ik naar gekeken heb. Nu nooit meer over hebben."

"Ik dacht met al dat haar-"

The two dutchmen got interrupted as the speech began. Like old times they assumed a fairly neutral expression as they sunk back in the chairs and leaned their heads on their hands like in class.
The speech continued in English, as the fancypants king with wings acted as stereotypical as can be. Though Snake's interruption threw him off guard.
Perry smirked, as he hadn't even needed to know what snake looked like to recognise that attitude.
The explanation continued as the champions sat by and listened, some more willingly than others.
------------------------

"This really IS a bad fanfic", Perry muttered at the end of the story while they were walking through the castle. "Or just your generic videogame plot...."
...
The armory's doors opened, with a proud Vandir just standing in the way. He hadn't finished his sentence or Perry had dashed in with a blinding speed.
"Oh sweet jesus...", Perry's jaw fell open as the medieval-weapon-fanatic gauged his eyes out at all the pretty. He stood amazed as the rest of the crew raced around him.

After Raya's display of swordmanship, Perry looked at the axes in his hands, and at Faeren's axes which he still carried around. Perhaps...
He flung the axe up and caught it loosely in his hand before he lunged it twirling through the air. With a loud crack, it split open the wooden head of one of the practice dummies standing in the room.
"Holy crap... So that WASN'T a lucky shot back then...", he said surprised. But soon his surprise turned into a smirk as he turned around to the first person he saw, being Feday standing near the door.
"Hey fed, fed.... Axe me a question", he said with a ridiculous smile.
He started juggling his weapons in the air and looked amazed at his own hands as they skillfully avoided the sharpies and caught the blunties.
"Look! it's like my hands know axe-actly what they're doing!"

"Okay, I should stop before I get axe-hausted...."

All this lovely stuff was his to take, and he had to stock up. There even was armour, and Perry had a desperate need to get dressed.
He grabbed one of the leather armors and put it on. Only to have it undo itself and slip right off again in an instant. "What the fuck?
He tried again, yet time again and again the armor kept falling off.
"Dudes, I think the world is against me covering myself up", He said.... He tried on a few single shoulder pads, and saw they kept their place. He strapped a few carrying belts around his torso and arms aswell. He attached a bunch of throwing axes to each belt and fixed Faeren's twin axes to his back.
"Lets see how many ladies in this castle will be attracted to the scent of my axe", He said with a smile from ear to ear.

"We do get women, right? Being royal guests and all, I demand some women!"

Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  TheTJ on Wed Dec 29, 2010 8:26 pm

TJ rolled his eyes at Perry's antics and looked around at the weapons. There was more than enough here to supply an entire army... Were they really going to need that much? From the sound of the King's speech this seemed like a diplomatic mission. Oh well, free stuff is free stuff, and if they're weapons so much the better. But which to choose? They all looked useful, even the staffs could work if needed. One was just as good as another he guessed. He picked up a broadsword and studied it. Looked like it could do some damage, and it had a nice heft to it...

TJ picked up the little strap thing that goes on your back and asked the guard how to put it on. The guard stared daggers at him but eventually agrred and asked TJ to turn around so he could put it on. When TJ did a spot of red in the far corner caught his eye. "Hey, uh... why is there a hat and cloak in the armory?"

"Oh that? That's a cloak of many pockets. It's enchanted so you could put 1000 pounds in and not feel any weight except for the cloak's."

"Wow. Dibbs! Wait... so what's the hat do?"

"Nothing, it's just a hat. It goes well with the cloak."

"Fair enough."

TJ waited as patiently as he could, but the second the guard was done he was off like a shot. He immediatley put on the cloak and hat, admiring the fact that he had a hat that finally fit him. He checked out the pockets of the cloak and found that they had an elastic lining and he could stick his entire arm in and not feel the bottom. Too cool... Grabbing a bow off the wall he stuck it in to one of the pockets and reached in as far as he could. Still no bottom.

But how do you pull items out? He dropped the bow in and took his hand out. After waiting a second, he put his hand into a different pocket and felt around. No bow. Okay, so he'd have to keep track of which pocket he put things into... Unless... He tried to summon the bow with his mind and instantly he was holding it in his hand. Awesome! Picking up a few weapons, hammers, axes, knives, and a lot of arrows, he made good use of the cloak. He left the Broadsword on his back though, felt cooler that way.

"Aw man..." TJ said, "I wish there was a mirror in here. I bet this stuff looks great!"

Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  TD260 on Wed Dec 29, 2010 11:06 pm

TD stood awkwardly in the corner of the armory.
Life was so much easier when I talked to people, and they didn't see me... Now I'm supposed to arm myself against an almighty threat? At least I don't need to pay for these out of my own pocket, unlike most armories I've encountered.
TD walked around the edge of the armory, Looking at various weapons, he took down a broadsword.
Hmmm... This could do, I guess. I mean, it works for link, right?
He took down the sheath, and buckled it across his chest diagonally, with the hilt over his right shoulder.
that should do it- I can grab quickly if I need to.
He then looked around, and saw something in a corner, covered in dust.
Hello... what's this?
It was a Quarterstaff, with a chain wrapped around the length of it, and 3 steel handgrips set into the shaft. Cut into the center grip was a large button. TD pressed the button, and a blade shot out of the end of the staff, extending to be about a foot and a half long, with strange runic carvings emblazoned on it. They lit up with a golden glow as he held the staff, and the chains intertwined around the length were lit with a metallic fire.
"YAAAAAAAA!"
TD yelled as this happened, dropping the weapon. Everyone turned to see TD jumping back from an otherwise normal bladed quarterstaff as it hit the floor.
"Dude..." Ansem said, coming up behind him and clapping a hand on his shoulder. "We're all a little high-strung, and you're not the only one freaked out by all of this. So, do us all a favor, and don't scare the crap out of us by yelling inside a room filled with pointy things, m'kay?"
TD looked up at him, shrugged his shoulder, and nodded.
"Yeah... sorry. The spring-loaded blade startled me."
He picked up the weapon, and there was no glow this time- just normal, regular wood and steel.
"Ok then. By the way, that thing is badass. You should totally use that. I mean, everyone uses swords. But that? Psh. the ladies will be all over your staff." Ansem seemed to think about that statement for a second, then shrugged and walked away.
What the hell was that? I mean... since when do weapons glow? Oh well- Ansem is right. This thing IS badass. I just need to figure out how to carry it with me...
TD looked around the armory, and saw a large, burly man leaning on a barrel, watching the forumers try on weapons. He crossed his arms, and looked at TD as he approached. TD could see that he had only one eye, since he had a massive scar on the left side of his face. That, and the eyepatch.
"GWAHAHA. WELCOME TO THE ARMORY, LITTLE ONE!" The man boomed, and then turned back to face the room.
"Um... excuse me? I was wondering if you could tell my any-" TD started to ask, but the man cut in again.
"GWAHAHA. WELCOME TO THE ARMORY, LITTLE ONE!" He boomed, then turned back to the rest of the room.
The fu- no, wait. The strange, floating text, the expository saviors... this is playing out in video game cliches! That means, I need to look at my inventory... and use an item on him?
TD opened his bag, and rummaged around in it, then, still holding his bag open, looked down at the weapon he was holding. He saw a faint arrow pointing to the man, with "use" written in spectral blue fire. He held the weapon towards the man, who looked at it for a second, then back at TD.
"GWAHAHA. Well, hello little one. HAHA. You've picked out a very interesting weapon here- The guy who made it, a wizard well known for enchantments, said it was his masterpiece. Well, i've never seen it act magical, so I put it in that corner over there. If you think you can use it, then by all means, take it."
TD put the weapon down for a second, then shut his bag. He looked at the man again, and felt sentences form in his head.
>Do you know anything else about it?
>Thank you for your time, I'll be leaving now.
He thought about one of them, and felt the words come out of his mouth.
"Do you know anything else about it?"
The man turned to him, and looked back at the weapon.
"GWAHAHA. Well, the wizard said that the blade was forged in the middle of a hurricane, with thunder his hammer and lightning his forge. Of course, the wizard was also half mad when he gave me this- I heard he's still in the town somewhere, enchanting away- he names his weapons, you know. That thing is named Grom. Dumb name. GWAHAHA. No idea what it means, but that's the name of it. He told me that it would give a sign if it's wielder was able to unleash it's true power (or something like that), but since it hasn't written anything I assumed that it was another raving of a lunatic man. He made that sword you're carrying too- that thing is named vessie. HA. Again, I tell you that guy was mad. But he knew how to make a good blade. That thing is perfectly balanced- he knew it too. He put a little balance scale emblem in the hilt, just to brag. Ah, but he's dead now. Anyway, you seem to be well equipped, you should get some armor now. Come along, this way..."
TD tried on many types of armor, but decided to stick with the basic protection under his modern clothing.
Let them laugh, but they say clothes make the man- and these clothes symbolize me. Granted, they might be willing to let it slide if I tell them the shield is an enchantment... oh well.
Chainmail beneath his hoodie, a coif beneath his hat, shoulder pads and a cape for dramatic effect. Greaves, boots, and vambraces completed the image, and he walked out of the armor room feeling confidant that he was not going to die quickly.

Post  SnakeInABox on Thu Dec 30, 2010 12:29 am

Snake sat at the table and stared intently at his butter knife as everyone around him got up to look around. From the open Armory door, Raya noticed Snake still at the round table. She walked back and looked quizzically at him.

"Snake, are you coming?"

There was obvious doubt in his eyes. He continued to look down at his knife

"No.... No, you guys go on ahead. I am just going to... slap myself in the face repeatedly until I wake up from whatever the fuck kind of drug induced nightmare this is..." On cue, he slapped himself. Raya rushed forward and swatted his hand.

"Stop it, Snake. I don't know what exactly is happening, but this is real. You, me, Everyone. We are here. And from the looks of it, we aren't going back home for awhile. So come on and find a weapon that can suit you. I don't think you will be able to defend yourself with that.... Butter knife?"

Snake glared at her, and broke into a smile. "Woah now, bitch, Don't be hating on my Knife. This here is one bad ass mother fucking weapon, that will save my life once we battle some evils ticks of butter.... OR something....." He stopped and stood up. "You know, You guys are a lot more different in person that I thought you would be. Some more than others for obvious reasons...." They took a look at Spont and laughed to themselves. "But there really is something I can't quite put my finger on... About this entire situation. Why us? Where is Surge, or Smash, or Camilla, Viero, any of them? I am worried, that's all."

Raya patted Snake on the back and walked toward the artillery room.

"Only time can tell, Snake. For now, I would recommend preparing for whatever troubles are still to come. Not everyone may be here, but we will stand by and protect the family that is."

With that, they walked into the Artillery room.

Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  Avalanche on Thu Dec 30, 2010 10:44 am

Avalanche was amazed at the story he just heard, and couldn't help but agree with Snake and Feday. He looked around and had the distinct feeling a lot of people felt the same. The winged people, Perry being a Faun, magic….It was all a bit much to swallow. He only partly paid attention when the map got explained and looked around observing the forum members. They said they had changed and were chosen by a deep magic, but why didn’t Avalanche feel any different?
Hearing the princess’ outburst however, somehow got to Avalanche. While not fully aware of the mechanics of this world, it did seem real in its own right. He did feel a light doubt at the back of his head that the princess was programmed to tell this, and will repeat the same line when talking to her.
The least Avalanche could do was stay for the night and see what’s what. After all, most of his forum friends he never met before. He could use this to at least mingle around.

When they were guided to the armory, Avalanche looked for Perry, pretty certain his friend would share his doubts.
Dude” said Avalanche on a light tone as if afraid others could hear him. “According to Ansem, this is all just a rpg.
A rpg hmm? ” Mumbled Perry. “Yeah, I can see that. With the floating numbers and all.”
“Wait. Floating numbers?”
“I can’t remember a rpg with a playable faun class though.

Avalanche stared at his friend. “………….perhaps you’re a NPC.
Perry stared back for a moment and smacked Avalanche against the back of his head. Avalanche couldn’t help but laugh, relieved his friend hadn’t changed.

Avalanche’s eyes widened when walking into the armory. Swords of all kinds, axes in all sizes, bows in all shapes. While not owning weapons himself, he did fancy them, and grabbed a sword to observe the craftsmanship.
He looked further and saw a lance that piqued his interest. It was sturdy and seemed capable to pierce trough a layer of armor, but wasn’t too heavy. When trying to thrust with it however, he seemed to lose his grip and the lance fell. Meanwhile he looked at the side and saw Raya play with twin swords and Perry juggling axes, while making lame puns.
We have all changed in one way or another…..does this mean we have mastered a weapon while teleporting?’
Looking at Perry’s juggling, Avalanche grabbed 2 throwing daggers and tried to imitate him. 1 of the throwing daggers got stuck in the ceiling.

The other landed in his foot.

”MOTHERFFFF!!!!!” Avalanche fell on the ground in shock of the sudden piercing pain and removed the throwing dagger, resting his hands on the wound in a attempt to stop the bleeding. People moved around him to see what happened, and Sahrimnir seemed to insist on seeing the wound. Avalanche felt a little faint and dizzy, uncomfortable with the crowd gathering around him.
What the hell is……’ It felt as if someone put a filter over his eyes, turning the entire world white. The pain started to fade away. Sahrimnir and the others looked surprised as the wound just closed up, not leaving a scar.
Avalanche almost fell over again in surprise of the letters appearing in front of him.

”AVALANCHE LEARNED HEAL”

”…….I’m the obligatory white mage of the party I guess.” thought Avalanche to himself. ”I guess the robes should have tipped me of on this one..

People were busy picking their weapons, and Avalanche started looking for his own. Being a white mage, he went over to the staves….but there were so many to choose from. He let his hand hover over them, trying to see what would fit his hand. One of the staves gave of a light glow as Avalanche’s hand went over it. It was quite a large staff, but very thin, with a small jewel of some sorts attached to the top.
Looking around Avalanche noticed people were looking for armor as well, but he felt quite comfortable in his robes. And the cloak just made him feel cool.

Outside the room he was met by a NPC, a tall knight. ”Do you have everything you need?”
“Yes”
said Avalanche mildly annoyed by the knowledge that was probably the only thing this guy ever said.
”I will show you to your room”
Avalanche followed the knight trough the castle hallways, and up the stairs. He had been in castles before, and was surprised to notice these stairs actually felt decent to walk on. Avalanche spotted the princes again. She spotted Avalanche as well, briefly making eye contact before being on her way.
”She is beautiful” Thought Avalanche to himself. Though he wandered if, since she had wings, it’d count as a furry thing.

”Here we are” said the knight. ”Is there anything else I can do for you.
Avalanche leaned on his staff a little. ”I’m good, thanks.”. And with that the knight took off, following the exact same path he had before.

There were two bed in his room. No doubt he would be forced to share it with someone. Avalanche did not mind. The room had a overview of the castle garden, and more than enough room to harbor 4 people. And the bed was surprisingly comfortable……so……comfort…..abl…………….

Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  Ansem on Thu Dec 30, 2010 4:51 pm

Well," said Ansem, winking at the Princess "A pretty girl like you is reason enough for me. What's say we take a walk after this and you ca-" he was cut short by a clip round the ear from Raya. "Aah, aah, Lynz...Aah, shi...aah, let go! Geez."

After the king's short speech, the group left to the armory. Ansem was still juggling in his head, trying to choose between the princess and Larissa. They were both gorgeous, Larissa in a more mature way, but the princess was so innocent and pure. And a wise old man once said, the more innocent and pure something is, the more beautiful it is to corrupt. Or something like that, fuck wise old men. With this in mind, Ansem stumbled into the Armory, seeing Raya wield twin blades and Perry juggling axes. Weird powers were at work, he'd better stay back.

"oowh, this one's nice!"
Ansem held up a claw/bracer combo, perfect for carving up people in close combat. Vandir stood next to him, giving Ansem a sly smile.
"Nasty little thing eh? I once saw a monk wielding two of those, tearing trough his opponents. But seeing as you're wearing a robe, you might wanna combine it with....this right here."
Vandir held out a long quarter staff, with metal paddings here and there. "It's a good one, great wood quality."
"Thats what she said!"
"I'm not following...."
"Never mind...I'll take it, thanks! Say, do you have any other robes, this one's kinda tattered, and while some chicks dig the battle worn look, I'm guessing Larissa and the Princess like th-"
Vandir took Ansem by the front of his robe and held his face close to his. They would be about the same hight, but Vandir wore soldier boots.
"Larissa is taken, 'champ', and the Princess is what you'd call 'forbidden fruit'. Hands off! And yes, you can go to the tailor, he's down the hall to the left. He's out for today, but he's sure to have some stuff lying around."
Ansem took his staff and the claw with a slight sob. No royal poon for him, not tonight. He wasn't going to mess with this guy. No thanks. Or maybe a little, we'll see what happens eh?

Ansem tried on the better looking black robe. Black and blue were his colours, always have been. He was a LARP-er, trying on clothes was natural, always trying to use different styles, coats, shirts to make it look as awesome as possible. This combination worked. He kept the hood he had when he came in here. They didn't have one in the same style, and it was just too cool to conceal his face like that. Why he'd want to do that was another story ofcourse...What?
Why did this....Who was....Why did this not feel right? As Ansem looked at his hands, he felt an urge. Not to kill...but to...Defy. Defy life. Defy death. He looked up, in the mirror, to see his face becoming darker, black specks flowing trough his eyes. What was this! Why did the words Stains and Chains come up in his head. Unholy energy surged trough his body. This felt...Good! It felt Good and Bad. It felt good to feel so bad! Ansem fell to his knees, almost crying from pain and happiness. He felt the stains on his soul! The black spots in his eyes grew, but he could still see. See trough the blackness and stains to see a world filled with possibilities. In this moment of Ecstasy, he felt a power in his hands, trying to suck the very life out of the air around him. There was no life, so the power went away. Panting, Ansem looked up in the mirror, to see Perry looking at him. Ansem's eyes widened, then he stood up. Still panting, he pointed his finger at him.

"n..not a word. To no one. About this. Not a word. You got that?!"

"Ansem I..."

But Ansem was walking away, briefly asking directions to his room. While walking trough the hallways, he saw the princess, looking at him. She looked scared. Was she scared of him? Did she know?! Ansem walked past her without a greeting and went to his room, locking it.

As Perry watched Ansem walk away, footsteps appeared behind him. A man, or maybe not, stood behind him. Not really smiling, but a hint of humor lied behind his face. His long blond hair was strapped in a ponytail, a little sweat on his brow. He'd been working out.
"I saw too. I don't know what that was, but we'll probably see more of that. Hi, I'm Requiem, summoned Champion, and probably your teammate..."

Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  Perry on Thu Dec 30, 2010 6:03 pm

Perry stunted around a bit with his new found skill for axe-ing things in the head, practicing swings, tricks and puns on the get go. His body excercised the movements as if he'd been handling these axes from the day he left his mother's womb.
This world was strange. All but his mind had been replaced and changed, as if he'd led a completely different life up untill now and just opened his eyes.

A mirror stood in the corner of the Armoury, and perry hesitated for a second. Slowly he stepped towards it, becoming painfully aware of the sound his hooves made on the stone floor. He closed his eyes and stopped infront of the mirror. He breathed in deeply and sighed, opening his eyes quickly and stared straight into his own clear blue eyes.
It was the first time he'd seen himself since he came to this world. His hand went up to touch his face, and he watched closely to see his reflection doing the same. His face seemed to have somewhat stayed the same, even though the goatee he'd been trying to grow had had a little boost since the last time he looked. He stepped forward, rubbing his chin and started snickering.
"Heh, Goatee... Goat legs.", he muttered softly. "Whatever made me like this atleast has a sense of humour."
He quickly glanced at Fed across the room. 'I wonder what exactly lead to Fed turning up like that, then...', he wondered for a bit.

His hand slowly rose over his face, touching the horns that sprouted out of his forehead. He'd completely forgotten about those with all the commotions, explanations and new meetings. For some reason time seemed to pass way faster.
He ran his hand along the horn, curving all the way back over his head, and as hard as a rock. He grinned slightly and turned his head. He had to admit, it looked pretty badass.

A step back, so he could see the whole picture again. Despite the obvious changes, he'd grown quite the bit of muscle aswell. No wonder moving around had become so easy since he came here. He looked around quickly through the room, making sure no one was watching and quickly flexed some of the muscles. In immediate response a huge cheesy grin appeared on his face.
"Heh, need to lose weight? Just cross a dimension or two and you'll be in tip-top shape.", he smirked.

He could get the hang of this new body. It was like the creatures he drew all these years, the characters he roleplayed in writing, but now... Now it would be really him. With a large grin, he started hopping up and down on his crooked legs, feeling the power in them. He wondered... could he....
In a large leap, Perry jumped into the air with a twist, flying backwards just to land back on his feet again. A gasp of surprise escaped his lips, while a slow clapping sounded from not far away.

"Bravo, bravo", Vandir commented as he walked up to him. "I take it you're one of those that got changed from the summoning, aren't you?"
"You could say that again", Perry scoffed. "I'm not exactly used to being able to fight either."
"Really?", Vandir said surprised. "You sure packed a hell of a punch back there on that Nameless scum."
"Tore right through that tin can o' armor", he laughed.
"Believe me, I was just as surprised as you were", Perry laughed. "It was more my body acting than me myself."
"Eh, sometimes it works like that. You'll get used to it, kid.", Vandir said with a shrug. "From what I saw you do just now, you'll be whopping some heads quite soon"
"I certainly plan on doing so. Those bastards didn't exactly give me a warm welcome since I got here."
"Ah, they never do. they never do", Vandir laughed.

He looked past Perry's shoulder and saw Faeren's axes strapped to the Faun's back.
"You planning on keeping those?", he asked.
Perry glanced back and grabbed the axes. "I thought about it, yeah... Did you know him?"
"Faeren?... Aye, we fought together a couple of times. He was from Highland, just like me before I met my dear Larissa. Great man in a short package, as i always said." Vandir spoke.
"I only got to speak a few lines with him before...", Perry said with remorse in his voice.
"Don't beat yourself up over it, kid. Things like that happen in this shitty world of ours. Why do you think we went ahead and ripped you all from your pretty houses?" Vandir said after a moment of silence.
"Faeren would've wanted it that way. Giving his life for the hope of the country. You'll just have to do him proud and get some Nameless blood on those axes of his so his soul can rest in peace".

Vandir gave Perry a crooked smile before patting the Faun on the back and walking on towards the rest of the group, making sure everyone got properly equipped. The man's sober attitude cheered Perry up slightly, as he smiled at the axes in his hands. He always held onto his starter items in games aswell, so this'd be a true homage to the man that saved his life.

Perry had seen enough of the armoury and walked up to the knight standing just outside the room. Before he could even adress the knight properly, he turned towards him already and Perry felt options form inside his head.
">I am done with the armoury. Where do I go next?". Perry droned up rather emotionlessly. "I got my axe on and im horny so im ready to roll", he quickly added afterwards because he didn't want to just leave it at that.
"You can either walk around the castle a bit more, or go straight through your bedrooms", the knight said as he proceeded giving Perry directions.
Perry nodded his head and knew there wasn't much more this knight could offer him, so he headed for the exit.

A large thud followed.
"SONOVA-", Perry exclaimed as he hit his head hard against the door's frame. "I had enough of this in real life, now here-.."
Oddly enough, his head didn't seem to hurt. He looked up at the frame and saw a large dent in the stone frame as pieces crumbled down slowly.
"Holy crap... well, that takes care of having to duck with every door now, doesn't it?", Perry said with a shocked laugh.

-----------------------

He walked a bit around the castle, as he was a roamer, and crossed an open door. Looking inside, he saw Ansem clad in black standing infront of a mirror. An unnerving aura filled the room as Ansem seemed to turn darker. Perry could feel something stirring inside him, almost being pulled out, but as he stepped back the feeling dissappeared.
Their eyes met in the mirror and Ansem turned around immediatly.

"n..not a word. To no one. About this. Not a word. You got that?!", He hissed at Perry. Before storming out of the room and walking away quickly.

Perry stood in the hallway, looking at Ansem's back with a worried expression.
"...still. Not as fucked up as Fed...", he chuckled.

A presence creeped up behind him, and Perry immediatly snapped around in a reflex, his hand flashing at one of the axes on his belts.
But a friendly face greeted him instead.
"Requiem?", Perry said on recognising the guy's face. 'so more forumers are still coming, eh?...', he thought.

Post  Requiem on Thu Dec 30, 2010 6:32 pm

((Black hair mate, but alrighty))

Requiem nodded "It would seem that way" He said, with a nod. "Looks like I'm not the only one who went through a change or two when we got summoned" He continued in reference to Perry's horns.

"Yeah, it's been an interesting day to say the least"

Requiem nodded "Hey, I'm gonna go find everybody else, alright? Maybe I'll be able to recognize some of the others." Perry nodded to him, and Requiem walked away towards the armoury.

As he arrived, Requiem looked over everybody that was around him. He'd already aquired his weapons when he had been summoned, a pair of simple, albeit rather vicious looking gauntlets and a bladed whip. He didn't wear any armor other than his clothes, which provided enough armor for him, and didn't constrict his movement. Leaning back against a wall, he took in everybody a little more carefully, trying to remember who was who. Obviously Perry had taken a transformation, and he'd overheard Ansem and Raya talking, so he knew who they were, but most of the others he couldn't pin down.

Shaking his head, he sat down and took out his deck of cards, shuffling them silently. It had been a long trip and now all he had found out was that instead of back home taking care of farm chores, he was in some strange medieval world, and to top it off, he wasn't even human anymore. People kept looking at him funny, or rather not so much funny, more like they were afraid of him.

Suddenly, he heard the sound of footsteps and looked up. In front of him stood the form of TD standing in front of him. "Where'd you get the cards?

"Brought'm with me, actually, most of this stuff is the same as what I was wearing when I left..." He shook his head, looking down at the cards he'd been shuffling "You up for a game?" He asked, trying to clear his mind. He knew a multitude of games, and was more than willing to play most of anything.

TD looked at him even more curiously "We're in a medieval RPG, with no information on anything, and you want to play cards?"

"Well... Yeah. Got nothing better to do, right?" He asked. Before he had a chance to deal any cards, or even continue talking, an older soldier came in with a look of anger in his eyes. He shoved the champion to the side and pointed his sword at Requiem's throat causing him to drop his cards.

"Wraith are not welcome in here" The man said coldly backing up so that Requiem could stand.

Slowly, Requiem pulled himself up and picked up the only slightly messed up deck of cards, and put them back into his pocket "Easy man, ok? Put the sword away." Suddenly it seemed as though the room emptied, and music started playing. Old combat music. Words appeared in front of him in a row.

Fight
Magick
Item
Run

Looking down at his gauntlets he placed himself into a fighting stance. 'Fight'.

Moving forward, the soldier charged him, sword raised above his head. As this occured, Requiem ducked to the side of the soldier. Turning quickly and grabbing the man by the throat from behind, he slammed him down into the brick floor. He felt a sharp crack as the man's neck snapped on the impact with the floor. A small 24 appeared over his head and the sound of victory music played as the room returned to it's former appearance

"I... I... I didn't mean... He charged me..." He stuttered, not having meant to kill the soldier, just to stop him. As Requiem stood up, a small orb appeared above his body. In one quick movement, the orb flew at Requiem's body, crashing into the center of his chest, causing his body to glow and raise into the air momentarily. Once he came back down, he fell backwards even more frightened. "Whats happening to me?" He asked, fear in his voice as memories of sword training flooded his mind.

((Sorry if it's not the best, it's been a long time since I've done this properly))

Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  SnakeInABox on Fri Dec 31, 2010 1:14 am

Snake made his way around the armory, touching any weapon he could get his hands on. He couldn't work a bow to save his life, and Axes were too much work. Swords were awesome, but not something he wanted to start with. Then, like a buld over his head lighting up, it hit him.

Magic.

He ran to the staffs and chose one that looked nice. He closed his eyes, and thought deep. With a wave.... Nothing happened. Odd.... I could have sworn this would be my thing... He picked up a wand and waved it, to no avail. He went back to the swords, and grabbed the nearest one. But despite the ability to swing it properly, it just... didn't feel right.

"Fuck this shit, I want to be geared up!" He tossed the sword back toward the rack it hung on, and gasped as the sword missed and crashed into a nearby case full of weapons. Without thinking, he jumped back into the shadows, and disappeared.... Almost literally.

Everyone stopped and turned to see who had broken the case, but no one was near it. A group of craftsmen rushed to the scene and started cleaning up the mess, looking for who may have been responsible.

What the.... What the fuck? Am I... Invisible? How did I do that? Snake wondered, in disbelief. More importantly, how am I going to get to the chambers without bumping into one of these men? Looking around, he noticed a shelf next to him. On the ceiling hung a lantern. "Well, here goes nothing..."

He jumped onto the shelf, and, though not exactly elegantly, jumped, grabbed the lantern that hung above the men, and swung-jumped to the other side, doing a barrel roll into the hallway. As he brushed himself off, he noticed he was becoming more visible. "Just in time... Heh Heh." A man walked down the hallway and smiled at him. "Hey man, do you know where I can find the bedrooms? I mean, the one that I am staying in?"

The man laughed. "Ah Ha Ha! Sure, young one. Just choose a room in the hallway! Any more questions?"

"... No. Thanks!"

He walked down the hallway and saw a beautiful young lady, starring at him. The princess... Wow, she is pretty nice. And the wings only add to it...

"Hello, my Lady" He said, soothingly. "Please excuse my.... sharp tongue, earlier. I was, and still am, a bit confused." The Princess laughed, and replied

"No worries, Warrior. It is completely understandable. If you have any questions, feel free to come and ask me."

Snake smiled to himself as she walked on to the end of the hallway. "Oh believe me, I will...." He said to himself, and he ducked into a room at random. Upon entering, he saw a tired man dressed in a white robe, laying in one of two very comfortable looking beds. He plopped down onto the other and sighed.

"Hey man, say something intelligent if you aren't an NPC."

You might think, that life gets easier once you're dead. In this case, it got even more difficult. No graveyard for him, he was supposed to help stopping a huge invading army, that slaughtered every resistance in his path. Oh well, Fed didn't need to fear for his life, didn't he? He decided to roll along, maybe there was a way to better his condition after their victory. "Who am I kidding? Only a miracle can save us" Pondering dire thoughts, he followed the others to the armory.

It had been a pleasant surprise to meet the other forumers in this foreign place. Granted, he had wished for other circumstances, but whatever. At first, the other "champions" were a bit reluctant to talk to him, but they warmed up quickly after some smalltalk. He even made some of them laugh, when Weldar had asked, what had happened to Fed(the Undead had started to make strange, but familiar dancing steps and suddenly had started to yell "IT'S THE THRIIILLLEEEERRRR, THRILLER NIGHT!"). He smirked under his hood. Maybe this adventure thing could be more pleasant than he had thought.

Fed walked aimlessly through the rows of weapons. He noticed Perry doing weird stuff with axes, then Avalanche screaming. "Maybe Perry shouldcut it out, heh" Then he felt a tingle across his skin, as Sahrimnir used healing magic on the injured Dutch. "Oh great, I have an allergy against healing, how ironic." His mood darkened a bit. Back home, he took great pride on his job. Helping people, figuring out what ails them... now when he saw wounded people, he became hungry. Great.
And then he saw them: a pair of milk-white, double-edged curved daggers, about 20 centimeters long. The Zombie needed to have them! Fed fastened his pace, grabbing them the second he could reach them. There was a new sensation, Fedaykin felt, that these daggers had become a part of him. He let go an impressive flurry of stabs and swings, cutting down a wooden dummy in half a minute. "Daaaamn, those bitches are sharp! This is like a dream come true!" Nobody saw the vicious grin on his face, and if they had, they'd wish they hadn't. He pondered a bit, if he should join the others, but he had a better idea. "Guard! Show me the way to the nearest slaughterhouse. I want to have a little snack before I retire to Nyall's... my room."

Post  Perry on Fri Dec 31, 2010 6:38 am

It was just a short greeting before Requiem flipped his longcoat around and walked away again. Perry shrugged and figured that being a large barbaric halfgoat meant he wasn't that interesting.

He strolled through the hallway, greeting NPCs left and right as they all had the same monotone "Goodevening, champion" response.
For a second he wondered why all these generic guards had the same speech pattern, yet Vandir seemed much more like a real person. He guessed it was just a clear give-away to who was important and powerfull in this game.
He walked past a corridor, when he saw a large group of NPCs running away screaming. 'Wow, lotsof important people?', he thought, but then he noticed a figure strolling after them with arms stretched.

"BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS", Fedaykin said with a chuckle in his croaky voice.
The NPC ran far ahead untill they were out of sight and Feday stood laughing in the hallway. A large whack sounded as Perry hit the Zombie on the back of the head.
"Woah there! Carefull, my body isn't that sturdy anymore", Feday said as he held tight of his head as if it could fall off. "We didn't all turn into muscle-packed sheep"
"I thought you'd look more scary if you were headless aswell, that's all", Perry laughed.
"Aww, you think my face is that beautifull?", Feday said with a smirk, leaving Perry to simply glare at the zombie.

"So where were you going anyway?"
, Perry asked, ignoring the comment of the o so funny Zombie.
"Out for a snack. A guard was leading me the way to the Royal slaughterhouse."
"Where is said guard now?"
"Oh he was just up ahead with that large group of people......"
"..."
"....we could always ask someone else"
, Feday said embarrassed.
"Fair enough, I could use a little food aswell.", Perry said with a shrug. "Kings are supposed to have all the good meat, right?"
"I don't think they'll be happy if we eat the king"
"Not what I meant."
"I could go for some wings, actually...."
"Shut up already!" Perry said frustrated as he started walking down the hallway in search for another guard to show them the way.
----------------------------------

With their own escort, they were on their way to the slaughterhouse. But suddenly the Guard stopped in his tracks and straightened up in an almost programmed fashion.
"Goodevening, your majesty", He barked monotone as the Princess and the obligatory bodyguards were passing by.
Perry straightened up next to the guard aswell, and Feday grinned slyly as he licked his lips, before getting a shove from Perr.
"Goodevening, princess.", Perry said politely with a slight bow of his head.
The beauty of royal blood courtsied back quietly before the bodyguards pressed her on.

Their guard resumed his way now that he could walk again, as if nothing had happened. Perry smiled at himself while they continued walking.
'Guess the obligatory romance options are present aswell in this world...', he said while smirking.
"So", a voice croaked behind him. "Necrophillia or Bestiality?"
"WHAT?!", Perry yelled as he turned to his chuckling Zombie-friend.
"I'm just asking what you think she'll be more into. Dashing pale undead or goat-fucking"
"I think any lady would atleast want something with an active bloodflow.", Perry said sharp while nodding at Feday's lower robes.
"There are more than one way to please a lady, dear friend.", Feday said sly. "I'm quite sure not all ladies will appreciate your goat milk either."
"If they got the jugs, I got the milk", Perry laughed and Fed couldn't help but chuckle either.
-------------------------

"Here you are, gentlemen", The guard said politely. "The Royal slaughterhouse, where the king's meat gets skinned, stripped and prepared for dinner."
"That sounds painfull...", Perry commented, but the guard didn't seem to cope with that response very well.

The Undead and the Faun entered through the door and were immediately welcomed by the scent of manure, and the sound of various cattle.
"You kill something, I get the leftovers?", Perry said.
"Deal"

Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  Minby_Aran on Fri Dec 31, 2010 8:52 am

Only three things were going through Minby's head. Where am I? What's going on? and Where the hell is my shirt? Wyndia wasn't exactly a temperate climate, but at least inside the Castle it was warm, but Minby's terrible self esteem made him feel terrible about himself, even though in this world, he was even more muscular than real life. It didn't help that he was wearing short shorts and a headband. He couldn't build up the confidence when he was at the table being told the situation, but now that they were in the armory, he felt a little better. Knowing the people he was around made everything a little easier. Even so, he ran straight for the tailor.

On his way, Minby realized he was fast. He was fast in real life, but here, he was FAST. There must have been a good 200 meters between him and the tailor, and he got there in ten seconds. "Holy hell!" Minby was shocked, and even more happy. But he decided to hurry up and get dressed. He actually quite liked the look of the shorts, so to keep them, he put on tights beneath them. "Now to find a nice goddamn shirt." Minby found a nice tight shirt that fit him eerily well. "Well, I'm not one to argue with a good thing." Minby said, as he put it on.

After admiring himself in the mirror for a bit, he decided to look at the weapons. The shirukins flew off in every direction, he could barely lift the broadsword, and the only thing he could do with a polearm was pole vault. Then, Minby came across a few sabres with side-handles. "Siiiiiiiiiiick" Minby tried to just flail them around, but to his amazement, he completely decimated the practice dummy. "Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet" Minby saw that a small eyepiece fell out of the dummy, and put it on. Suddenly, anyone he looked at had a number next to them. Most of the other people only had a 1, but the guard had a 5. Instantly realizing that everything that happened so far has been like an exposition to a terrible RPG, Minby thought that the numbers might be their levels. Then he remembered that it was a stupid idea, and forgot about it.

Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  Avalanche on Sat Jan 01, 2011 3:48 pm

In the distance there was a voice……Or so it felt. As if someone stood behind a wall and tried to tell Avalanche something.
”It can wait till tomorrow” he thought. ”I’m to tired.
Then, a small familiar jingle resonated in the back of his head.

familiar jingle

”……….are you fucking kidding me?” Avalanche sat up straight, surprised at how vital he felt. Though his head was still tired from all the events of the day, his body seemed rejuvenated.
”Is this something white mage specific, or can everyone do this?”

"Hey man, say something intelligent if you aren't an NPC." said the man who had taken the other bed.
”Alright” groaned Avalanche. ”Something intelligent”
”yeah that’ll do” said the man across of him. He looked very familiar, but Avalanche couldn’t put his finger on it.
”Excuse me he asked polite but aren’t you….Outlaw?”
”What!” answered the man harshly, ”You ought to know who I am by know you piece of—
“Snake”
Avalanche sighed, recognizing this sort of outburst.
”Right” He answered. ”And you have a distinct European accent pal. And since Ansem is the handsome one, Perry is the goat one and Feday is the dead one, I believe there aren’t many options left.
Avalanche nodded.”Indeed.. Though I had hoped a TWBB reunion would be held in less seemingly dire circumstances……You know me as Avalanche91, King Avalanche, or Roy, suit yourself”
“What about Avalanche or Av?”
“Eh close enough.”

There was a silence between them. Avalanche looked outside over the castle garden while Snake was getting comfortable on his bed.
”So what now?” asked Avalanche. ”I don’t think we’ll return to the real world any time soon.”
“Beats me”
groaned Snake. He rolled around on his bed. ”It appears they want us to travel to these other lands and convince them the threat of those dark ones is real…..whatever the hell that means.”
“That’s not much of a relief.”
“Just answering your question.”

Avalanche sank in his own thoughts.”For whatever reason they assume we’re capable of fighting these things….Petra and Ivan seemed to assume so….But I’m not a fighter……Is that why I got the white mage role?
Slightly frustrated Avalanche grabbed his staff, which seemed to really be tailor made for his hand and stood up.
”Dude, where you going?” asked Snake.
”I need a drink” Avalanche replied. ”Preferably a stiff one, but I’ll see what they got.
"If you find anything that'll get you fucked up, for the love of god.... grab me one."
Groaned Snake while Avalanche closed the door.

Avalanche tried to search for one of those NPC guards, to ask where he could find a drink. There were none in sight, so he decided to venture out on his own, looking for a place he could get a drink. He ventured downstairs, and managed to find the armory again, but didn’t exactly know where to go from there.
”Left…..right…..aah what the hell” Avalanche went right and followed a long hallway that ended in a small circular room filled with beds. Apparently this sufficed as medical station for the time being. Most people there seemed to be asleep, only a few took notice of his presence, but remained quiet al the same, as if they didn’t care.
Avalanche held his staff tight and observed the wounded. 2 of them seemed to have flesh wounds very similar to his accident with the throwing knife.
Hesitantly he walked towards the men and aimed the crystal on his staff to their wounds, trying to recall the feeling he had when healing himself.
Finally, one of the men he attempted to heal opened his mouth. ”Kid……what the hell do you think you’re doing? The doctor will fix me up tomorrow.”
“Quiet”
whispered Avalanche. ”I don’t want to mess this up.
The man looked suspiciously at him. ”Kid, put the staff down. I’ll wait on the doctor.
Avalanche decided to ignore him. He needed to get down how to use his healing ability as soon as possible. He played enough RPG’s to know the cure spell is pretty damn important. Instead he tried to concentrate on the crystal on top of the staff.

”I said cut it out!” The man grabbed hold of Avalanche’s staff, who panicked and tried to back off. He tried to pull his staff out of the man’s hand and hit the man against the side of his head with it. He fell back on the bed and stopped moving.
Avalanche looked agitated at the other patients, who in turn looked agitated at him. He bent forward to check the man for breathing signs.
”Thank god.” He thought when he heard his breath.”If he died, who knew what these people would do to me…..

Keeping close attention to the reactions of the people in the station he backed off and decided it might be better to try practicing in the armory.

Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  Weldar on Sat Jan 01, 2011 4:10 pm

Weldar stood in front of the doors to the gathering hall. By this point it was quite clear this wasn't a dream, that'd become clear around the time he'd tripped on a mangrove root and fallen into the swampy water but that didn't explain what this actually was. Hopefully this place had some answers. He entered the room. There was all sorts of others, the champions he presumed, mostly humans or least partly so, perhaps that horse had been a mistake. A few of them looked vaguely familiar and the accents; a few americans, a few sort of german-y ones a british girl. Hold on a second these other champions were forum members! Well things just get more awesome and more confusing, what is going on. As if on queue the royal spoke and began to explain the situation. Now it was clear, it wasn't a dream they were all just chosen ones who'd been summoned to protect cliche fantasy trope land, well that explained everything. He wasn't particularly interested in being a warrior or having great power but he knew better than to try and fight being called a chosen one. Once again things still didn't quite make a lot of sense but may as well go along for the ride.

Weldar browsed the selection at the armoury. He'd picked out some fairly plain new clothes but decided to keep Sebastian's cloak. While it was a little big for him the hue of the cloak seemed to change ever so slightly to match the surroundings, nothing too special but it did seem nifty enough to be worth keeping. Weldar put down a halberd, yeah that one was never gonnna work. All the weapons so far just seemed too big and akward. Hmmm perhaps shurikens. He tested a few, they hit kinda close to the target but still didn't seem quite right, he pocketed a few anyway but kept on searching. He came to the daggers, "Ah here we go". He picked up a pair of curved blades and tested them out, satisfied he strapped them to his belt. But then another straight bladed knife caught his eye, he stared as it pondering for a few seconds. "Ah what the hell, this is crazy cliche fantasy land." He took the knife while picking up two more and turning to one of the guard. "Hey, how many of these things am I allowed to take?"

The slaugherhouse was huge. The two champions didn't know(or care), how many people lived in this castle, but there was enough business going on to feed a whole army. Hundreds upon hundreds of cows, sheeps and other lifestock were processed to keep Wyndia's people well fed. To their surprise, the animals were all calm and no sounds indicating pain or slaughter were audible. They exchanged puzzled gazes and went looking for someone in charge.

Fedaykin could see the orange aura filling this room. This place of death was bursting with life. He chuckled, as he saw the irony in it. A smack on the head drew his attention back to his comrade. "What was that for? I didn't do anything!", he asked, cursing. Perry chuckled, "I can tell, when you have dirty thoughts. Well, for that, I could keep smacking you all the time. Anyhow, I'd like some steak, I'm almost starved." Fed nodded, "A cow then. I feel, that I need a lot for myself, that soldier wasn't nearly enough. Add Sah's healing attempt, that didn't do me any good either." "Me carrying your butt all the way here didn't do me good either. Look, that fat, bald guy over there yells orders. We should have a little talk with him, shouldn't we?" The Faun didn't bother to wait for an answer and strolled over to the taskmaster. Fed followed, eyes locked on Perry's head, mumbling something in German, which didn't sound very nice.

It had been a busy day for Balowin, as every day in the service of his beloved King. All had to go smoothly, but with an army advancing on your home, things don't tend to follow the scedule. Additionally, he had recieved word, that royal guests were coming down here. Great, more trouble. What could they possibly want from him? Then his eyes caught 2 figures approaching him, a strange duo. A tall, muscular faun, accompanied by a smaller robed figure, seemingly human. He barked a few final orders, then turned around and faced the arrivals. "Look, I have a lot of things to do, make haste. I don't mean to be rude, but as you see, my supervision is needed here." He looked impatient, eager to get rid of the unwelcome visitors. "Indeed, you should be a little more respectful to those, who will save your sorry ass from the Nameless Army.", Perry snorted. "Fed, it was your idea, tell him." The Undead cleared his throat and stated his business. "I want a Doublecheesburger with fries and a Coke, Kingsize." The expression on Balowin's face didn't show anything resembling understanding. Before he could say anything, Fed laughed at him, mudging Perry's side with his elbow. "Did you see that? Absolutly priceless... Now, man, I need a medium-sized cow and a quiet spot to have my way with it. It will probably be messy, but don't expect me to clean up. You have five minutes to prepare everything...make haste." As a small encouragment, he smiled at him. Balowin darted off, incredibly fast for a man of his stature. Three and a half minutes later, they were led to a small sidechamber.

The Zombie faced his victim, as it looked at him, showing neither fear or interest. Fed stepped next to it, stroking its brown fur. He turned his head to Perry, something like remorse echoed in his croaky voice. "You know, this is the first time I will kill something without the need of selfdefense. I know, that it has to be alive, for me to consume it... but that doesn't make it any easier. That soldier deserved to suffer, he knew no remorse, but this creature... I don't want it to suffer." Perry stepped next to his friend, laying a hand on his shoulder. "I understand", he said gentley, "let me help you out a bit here." With that said, he errected himself in front of the cow, taking aim and delievered a forcefull headbutt on the cow's head, knocking it out cold. Once more, he looked to Fed, turned and walked out of the chamber. "Don't forget my steak. I'll wait outside, where I can't hear you. Don't wanna lose my appetite, right?"

It got as messy as Fedaykin had foretold it. The poor creature didn't have to suffer, at least, thanks to Perry's headbutt. The Zombie had to let go to the instincts, that demanded to be feeded. As he consumed the creature, he could feel its energies becoming his own. The last signs of rot vanished, he felt almost alive again. As the power reached his brain, it unlocked small chunks of knowledge, stored in the memories of the late Nyall. he gained a basic understanding of his condition, the need to consume lifeforce on a regular basis and the consequences for not doing it. Fedaykin was sure, that Nyall had some books on that topic in his room, he should do some research...

Perry grew impatient. What was taking Fed so long? His belly demanded his attention, when he saw the returning Zombie, the robes all bloody once more. Also, he had ttwo bags with him, both seemed to contain some kind of meat. The Faun smirked and called out to his friend. "Well, you took your time, did you enjoy yourself? I suppose those bags are for me?" Fed gave him one of them, it contained the expected meat. "Not cooked yet? You dissapoint me.", he chuckled. "What's in the other bag? Some kind of surprise?" One of his eyebrows darted up, showing his curiosity. Fed nodded. "Yep, sorta. Enjoy it while it is still fresh." A smirk grew in his face ,as Perry opened it. The Faun's expression was unreadable, as he stared on the cow's jugs. "You are horrible, you know that?" "Yeah, I know. Come on, let's get out of here." Fedaykin headed to the exit, chuckling.

Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Spoiler:
A bit of nonsense. I couldn't resist.

Raya wandered through the castle grounds, taking a walk to clear her head. There was certainly a lot to take in today. She'd managed to pick up a new outfit on her way, making her feel a lot less conspicuous. Now she had a black jacket that cut off just below her chest, an apparently sentient scarf that billowed dramatically at opportune moments and a pretty kickass pair of stomping boots. She couldn't resist taking a few pieces of armour, which hung fairly uselessly around the less vital parts of her body. It was highly unlikely that they would stop any blow but hey, she was female. Technically the less armour she wore the better protected she'd be. Being naked was probably the equivalent of an invulnerability code.

Her hands rested lightly on the hilts of the twin swords, carried slung across her hips. Suddenly becoming proficient in swordplay had certainly been unexpected. She most definitely wasn't in possession of any brawn, and it was common knowledge amongst her friends she was the dumbest smart person they'd ever met, so ending up more martial than magical had been a surprise. Maybe she was a...what was the class called? Myrmidon? Valkyrie? Swordmage? Eh, well, she'd find out soon enough. There had to be a reason for this unusual turn of events.

Eventually she came to an archaic door and poked her head round. Beyond was a library room, packed to the rafters with books. The air was heavy with dust, thick motes drifting lazily on the sunbeams. Her sort of place, really. She wandered inside, noticing that the librarian was absent. The room stank of old knowledge and decaying paper, a pleasant (if acquired) smell. Her attention was caught by a large book left open on a lectern. On one page was a meticulously detailed sketch of a great monster, the other an embellished title.

Dragon: A Great and Terrible Beast

She skimmed over the description beneath and turned the page. The subsequent pages were all on the same subject matter. Manticore: The Man-Faced Fiend. Basilisk: The Stone Serpent and scores of similar titles. It suddenly dawned on her that this was a treaties on creatures of this world...or rather a monster manual.

Raya pulled up a chair and began reading. The monograph was scarily indepth, with notes on habitats, weaknesses and diets (mainly adventurers). She'd completely lost track of time when a loud cough made her jump. She spun, guiltily, to see the aged librarian had returned, books under one arm and a tea tray in the other.

"Can I help you, dear?"

"Oh, er, sorry, I, um, just came for a look around. Sorry, I'll just go-"

The librarian placed the books down and held up his hand "No need to rush. It's nice to see youngsters take an interest in literature." He set down the tray and poured two cups of tea, offering her the second without bothering to ask "The name's Quercus."

She took the proffered cup "Lyn- er, Raya."

"You one of those divine champions everyone's been talking about?"

"Allegedly so."

"Where are the others?"

"Knowing them, probably hitting on the Princess."

Quercus laughed "Boys will be boys even in your own world, eh?" he nodded at the monster manual "Although if you're going out on a diplomatic mission surely you'd be better off reading about the nations of the Northlands rather than the monsters that live there."

"What can I say? I prefer dead animals to politics."

"A girl after my own heart." Quercus put down his cup "I think you'll do well. Sword and sorcery may be strong, but they'll only take you so far. Knowledge, my dear girl, is what will save the world. It's fear and ignorance that stops the city states allying. They see each other as too different and untrustworthy. And men are no different than the beasts; know their weaknesses and they'll fall like matchsticks. Y'know," he nodded at the book again "That's all my own work."

"Really?"

"Oh yes. Back in my day I was quite the adventurer. Went across the land hacking apart monsters to see how they ticked. If I were 30 years younger we wouldn't need you lot to come save us. I'd march right in there and take down the entire Army single-handedly. Blindfolded and trouserless with a pig under one arm."

Now it was Raya's turn to laugh. Quercus grinned and stood up, rummaging through a pile of scrolls until he finally found a small leather backed book. He handed it over and Raya flicked through it. With the exception of a picture and short description of a bear the rest of the pages were blank. She raised an eyebrow. "What's this?"

"If you and your friends are going out in the world you'll have to learn about the things you're fighting. Every time you fight a monster record it in the book. Knowing its strengths and weaknesses will be a big help to you in the future. Besides, I'm far too old to go out adventuring anymore. It was my goal to learn all I could about the creatures of this world. Perhaps you could complete my task in my stead."

Raya paused, then suddenly burst into laughter, causing a look of consternation on Quercus' face "What's so funny?"

"Nothing, it just...reminded me of something back home, that's all." She glanced outside the window, realising for the first time just how dark it was "I'd better head off. It's getting late."

Quercus politely stood up alongside her "Good luck on your quest, young Champion. Should fate ever return you to Wyndia once this war is over feel free to stop by. I could always use an assistant."

Raya smiled "Thanks. I'd like that." She took her leave, closing the heavy door behind her. The night chill filled the corridors, making her shiver as she wandered to find her room. She wondered if she'd bump into anyone or if they'd all gone to bed already. Tomorrow, after all, was going to be a big day.
