Skyward Sword is sitting in the other room. And yet I have no yearning to play it.

Alright guys, I'm gonna come out and say that I wasn't completely sold on Ghirahim before the game came out. I totally am now. This guy is awesome.

So I've been playing Skyward for the last week or so because it got leaked, I just finished it a little while ago.

Fucking fantastic game. My end play time was around 40 hours, and I still have stuff to do around the world, like upgrades and stuff.

I wasn't really planning on getting this at first, wasn't even on my radar, but then my friend told me it got leaked and so I decided to give it a try. I was fucking HOOKED. Like, there was a part where the game was glitching and wouldn't let me get past the second boss. I went about a day without playing and I swear, it felt like withdrawl. I just wanted to play it whenever I wasn't. Eventually got past that though, not 100% sure on what I did to fix it.

As well when I first started, I wasn't too sure about the art style of it but it grew on me REALLY fast.

I'm not sure I'm ready to call it better than OoT (My favourite of them) but it is for sure fantastic.

I like how people seem to have taken my previous post in an offensive way or at least feel it was worth voting "negative". I was simply stating a fact, it is in the other room, and I don't feel like playing it. That doesn't mean I think the game is bad, i'm sure it is a fantastic game. But I don't feel like playing it.

So I got SS on Sunday, have not had that much time to play it until today. I am so much out of the mindset for Legend of Zelda games. I just beat Ghirahim because I could not find out how to get inside the temple
Spoiler:
Little red fucker to open the door was hiding from me
And spent so long in there because again, not in the Zelda mindset IE: Checking my map to find small rooms. >_>

Now when it comes to what I think of the game. Fuck OoT, fuck WW, fuck TP and fuck all other zelda games.

I have not had this much fun in any other Zelda game, I love the new difficulty of everything hitting for 1 heart and each kill feels awesome (Died 4 times so far O_o)

Even more so the fight with Ghirahim, first boss to make me go "That was fucking awesome and fun as hell!" in Zelda.

This better come to NA.

And since NA is Zelda's biggest market, I say it has good chances to.

Canonized timeline?...

I'm actually a little disappointed. A lot of people, myself included, have had fun trying to peice it together. If I had been Nintendo I would have had a basic timeline laid out, but instead of sending to the world, leave hints all over the place and let people find out that way.

...Although wouldn't it be wierd if there was no "split" in OoT? Huh, Guess I'm a bit torn on the subject.

New pages of the book are on the net and there's a part of the timeline info in those pages.

Here's what people were able to translate.

Twilight Realm and the Hero’s Descendants
Link, the Hero of Time, was victorious and Ganon’s seal was successful. He returned to his original time and met with Princess Zelda, and a different history was spun.

Another History of the Hyrule Kingdom

Period of the Hero of Time (Child Era):

Ocarina of Time:

The Hero of Time’s Return
By rewinding the time of his 7 years sleep with Zelda’s power, Link returned to his original time.
He now went to Hyrule Castle’s courtyard. Princess Zelda was watching Ganondorf as before when they first met.

Notice of the Future
Link told Princess Zelda what will happen in the future. She listened and so to prevent Ganondorf from entering the Sacred Realm, entrusted Link with the Ocarina of Time and instructed him to leave with it.
This time, the back of Link’s hand was shining with the proof of the Triforce of Courage. Finished with the battle with evil from the future world, the hero carried the burden of the secret journey.

Majora’s Mask:

Link’s Departure
Link borrowed Epona from Lon Lon Ranch. And after several months of wandering looking for his past friend Navi, he was lost in a mysterious forest where there was a way to the parallel universe called Termina.

Right side column text:

The Hero’s Return
The place where Link returned was the Temple of Time. The Master Sword remained stuck before the time the Sacred Realm was opened. His friend Navi disappeared into the sky, and Link walked into the new history.

Triforce of Courage
The proof of courage was carried on the back of Link’s hand. Since Ganondorf was sealed away with the Triforce of Power, the Triforce remained with the chosen ones of the Gods.

You can find the scans (in Hi-Res) at the link above and boy, the first concept art of Midna were messed up.

When with this thing be hitting stateside? I... I think I need one.

Although, the idea of Termina being a different universe kinda bugs me. Yes, a lot (Almost all) of the character models were recycled but I'd prefer to believe there's another contry with eerily similar people than Link just sorta walked into an alternate dimension.

I thought it was made clear in the game itself that Termina was a parallel world.

I don't know, I never got that.

I mean, SURE it was different. But I always pictured it being a physical distance away from Hyrule.

I guess my biggest problem with that is that there doesn't NEED to be a timeline if you bring in parallel dimension. World full of water? Alternate dimension. Giant Face moon? Alternate dimension. Anything that doesn't directly and irrefutably connect two games can be entirely disconnected.

And I don't like that too much.

TJ was implying that things such as Wind Waker and Majora's Mask can easily be explained as "parallel dimension". If one game could be considered a parallel dimension like Majora's Mask (like you said) was/is considered. Then something major like Hyrule being completely flooded could be considered a parallel dimension as well.

In character?

Well too late for that. It's made clear in the first minute of Wind Waker that it's a direct sequel to OoT, just like M'sM is.

Also, I thought your "M'lord" thing was something the character in your avatar says, so I thought you were being "in character".
