I'm a pretty big Final Fantasy fan, but oddly enough I haven't beaten a single one yet. (Unless you count Tactics.)

I've played 1, and 2. Stopped playing 1, since I wanted to get that on the PSP. I got stuck on 2. I've played VII, (the PC version.) But I ended up getting stuck, do to some error. Though from what I've played, I think the game is overrated, but it isn't bad at all. At the moment the only one I'm really far on is 3. I think I'm starting to get close to the end. The others though, I think I've at least tried some of them but I don't really remember which ones.

Though, I plan to start playing 5 and 6 soon.

anyway, I haven't really tried Dragon Quest, or The World ends with you. But I really want to buy one of them.

That's not really THAT odd... I mean, I'm a big fan of Mortal Kombat, and I haven't beaten any of them.

Uh, I don't think I emphasized that part at all.

For me though it is a little bit odd. Considering that most of the games I'm into I end up beating. Which hasn't happened yet for just about all of the Final Fantasy games I bought. (I've owned some of them for a long time.)

yea.....I haven't beaten many FF's myself, just MQ and 4. I already posted why in another topic, so I won't go into that. However, 7 is very overrated, people just OMG'd over it because it was the first 3-D FF game from what I understand. That's not to say the game isn't good though, still is one of the better FF's imo. Though....personally, I don't think you can find a worse FF then 8. 8 was SO stupid....battles had no point, because leveling up didn't mean anything unless you killed Squall, cause all of the monsters were his level no matter what. Fights also didn't earn gil. Lastly....the magic draw system killed it for me. You'd spend the longest times in fights trying to draw up to 99 casts of cure, or whatever. Not only that, but if you weren't paying attention, you'd pass up a Guardian Force because you didn't draw it from a boss.

I played the shit out of final fantasy ten. I'm talking one whole summer break, and over 300 hours of playtime.

I had the worst "How I sent my summer vacation" essay ever.

Kind of...the general basics are the same. Pick 5/6 people, put them onto the field, and it plays out like FE. The differences, however, are more then noticeable. First is that it's turn order is different. You don't pick your people and have them move all at once, end turn, and then the enemy does the same. There's a turn-order list based on each character's speed rating. Second, you can customize your people a TON compaired to FE. There's a number of jobs you can turn your character into, knights, black mages, ninjas, w/e. Each job has a large number of abilities, either passive or an ability you have to use. However, you don't have to limit each character to a single job, infact, you'll get stronger characters if you DO swap their jobs around to get abilities. Cause, lets face it, a white mage, your main healer class, is good. A white mage with the summoner ability, walk/MP, is better. walk/MP is simple enough; move around, gain MP. So, its sort of the same as FE, but a good bit of it is different.

The above post is valid for the early FFs (FFIII in my limited experience). In 7 each character can do any move, as long as you equip it to their weapon in the form of Materia. In 10, each character already has a class and cannot change it. Lulu is the black mage, Yuna is the white mage, ect. In 10-2 however, you can switch classes around a lot.

I haven't played the others though. Others meaning 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11 (it's online only), 12.

Totally depends on the game you get. Also keep in mind that the only real sequel is 10 and 10-2. To my knowledge, they've never mixed characters other than then.

If you work hard enough you can do anything in FFX with everyone, and if you were to spend thousands of hours leveling up you could eventually earn every single skill for every person. (Except Summon, only Yuna has that.)

There was a Japanese only game on the SNES made by SquareSoft.

It's called Live A Live, and it was recently translated.

It's a fun game, I've already beaten it twice. I strongly urge you people to play.

Have you guys seen the recent info on 'Blood of Bahamut'? Although it shares (currently) no similarities to the SNES Bahamut Lagoon (other than some staff/crew members) it has you fighting on Final Fantasy avatars/summons :O It looks pretty impressive & its coming to the DS sometime this year, maybe NA next year.

P.S. Blu-Ray Final Fantasy VII Advent Children comes to United States shores next week on the 2nd. Besides the movie, those that pick it up will also get a demo of FFXIII for PS3. Check it out, the JP one came out already & the vids ripped from it show a lot of promise (there's also trailers/info for FFXIII: Versus & FFXIII: Agito for PSP).
