I'm restarting the old Grudge Matches. Primarily for the purpose of being able to update the OP properly since Jake Disappeared.

RULES:
1. No trolling, this is meant to be fun.
2. When you're fighting, you must post as you would in an rp.
3. No Godmodding or power plays in a match, this includes controlling the other players character. Completely against the rules.
4. Be creative while fighting, it'll probably help you out more.
5. LITERACY Please, I can't stress that enough. 3-4 sentences, at least, while fighting.
6. Have fun alright? This is supposed to be something fun.
7. If you're calling someone out, make sure its BOLDED
8. You MUST have a bio for your character. Not just to keep God modding down, but so you and your opponent know who you're dealing with.
9. The setting of the fight shall be decided by both participants.
10. In the end, during voting, each contestant is suggested to vote for themselves, both to stop from any argument about people voting for themselves, and to make it easier for them to view the current poll results. This of course is a suggestion, and if you don't want to you don't have to.
11. Whoever wins the poll at the end will be able to have the 'finish him' post.

Name: Yuka Satsuki

Powers: Magical girl powers of love and hope!

Race: Human (but with magical powers~)

Weapons: A staff with a crystal heart on the tip that she uses like a wand to channel her magical powers.

History: A 14 year old high school student, Yuka tripped over a magical cat one day while running to school, late, with toast in her mouth (naturally). The cat, Hina, who was a goddess in disguise, told Yuka that she was destined for greatness and it was her duty to bring love and hope to the world. Yuka was reluctant to accept her fate but when dark forces kidnapped her best friend after school that very day she took up the staff that Hina gave her and transformed in to a magical girl, using her optimism and love to save her friend. From then on, it has been Yuka's duty to fight darkness and save the world from devastation..



Name: The Avatar of Spagylobtethullu

Race: Human, possessed by an Elder Pastafarian God

Powers: Noodly tentacles, manipulation of pasta, sauce and other related Italian foods. As the battle progresses these powers will become stronger as he becomes less man and more pasta.

Appearance: A humanoid figure in a crimson red cultist's robe on the surface, below is nothing but a writhing mass of pasta, sauces and meatballs.

Weapons: A sacrifical dagger, every good cultist needs ones. Most fighting will probably be done by the tentacles though.

History: Hailing from a world where Pastafarianism is a real and serious religion, full off dark horrible elder god type beings. Spagylobtethullu one of the more powerful gods looking to expand it's domain sent it's avatar out looking for world's to conquer. One found it's way to Yuka's hometown of Neo Olde Tokyo where an epic battle would and the fate of this world would be decided.

Name: Berend Barnabas, AKA the Hammer of the 15 AKA The Storm.

Powers:
There's a reason, why 14 of the most powerful demons on the Creation, and the God of Truth chose a mortal to be their hammer. Enter Barnabas, dubbed the most powerful mortal in all of Creation. Not the most powerful creature, not by far. But for a mortal to be able to destroy medium sized Demons, lesser and earth bound Angels, and any Avatar of any god thrown at him. Lets just say that he has a gift. Maybe he was born with it, or his lifestyle, or training, or paths he chose. In any case, he has an amazing raw power. Pure, Arcane Magic emanates from his being at all times, oozing out of every pore. He is a water mage, capable of using both the mystical powers of water, as well as the powers of Ice. But his greatest strength lies in the fact that, should he exhale too loudly, beings of magic implode around him. If he were to gather all his power in one blast, he could wipe a city of the map. The problem is, being a mortal, his body and soul are not supposed to handle this strain. He should be mad as a hatter, or exploded. But he copes with it. He's just a human being. The glorified blunt Instrument of a God, just like a paladin of 1 of the 4 other gods.

Description/background:
He's just a Human, as we've said. His task is that of The Hammer of the 15, an enforcer. Do this, kill him, fix that, he takes orders from anyone of the 15, or The Son of Salvator, Aidrail. But lately somethings been off for him. He's hearing the voice again. Cackling when he uses his Arcane Magic. Whispering dark promises whenever he's alone. He's been to Salvator for this. The great Father explained that this could very well be the Voice of The Greatest, The one who still resides in the Void, who created his own paradise, but now envies The Creation and its potential. He could've picked up on Barnabas' Raw power emanating into the Void every time he gets close to the Barrier. Salvator used a divine spell, and rid Berend of the voice. But now its back, and his power was growing still.

Aidrail is worried for his...friend. Yes, this human, this blunt instrument was the closest thing he had to a friend. He had another one, but he died. Vandir, General of Death. A much too scary title for such a good kid. Kid, he was in his twenties, but still. He was a friend of Aidrail when he was still a paladin of Farn, he'd stayed a friend when he turned. His open mindedness got him killed, by his comrads, who dubbed him as a traitor to the God of Death. Much blood was spilled after Vandir died. He was Barnabas' best friend as well. It was weird, Berend made friends in the ranks of the 4, so many. And they were all loyal to him, some till the end, others to this day. Even Vitus, who became an Angel of Purification, Still remained a close friend of his. Maybe Empathy was Barnabas' greatest strength. Maybe that was why, if the time came, and Aidrail had to kill his friend, he could defeat even the Son of Salvator. Maybe.


Quaetam

Name: Vakaran Kaethis

Age: Mid to late thirties, exact age unsure due to destruction of birth records.

Powers: Vakaran is an adept in air-bound magic, capable of channeling the powers of the wind in numerous forms. He frequently uses this to deflect attacks, control currents and weather, or to throw boulders and other objects at his target, although he possesses many more significant techniques. In addition to his magical abilities Vakaran carries a number of projectile and other small weapons, such as razor-sharp shuriken he can manuver with his wind energies. His most prominent weapon is a cane called the Ascension of Flame....

Description/Background:
Vakaran hails from a world torn by apocalyptic warfare and the ravages of unknown beasts. The Saedin Dominion was at its peak, having triumphed over neighboring Spirus a century ago in a bloody, decade-long war. Since the ravages of conflict, the continent-spanning empire had solidified, expanded upon itself and reformed into something greater. The continent had been rebuilt, and the age was one of prosperity. Like in any prosperous time, the attention of the government and of the people had turned towards advancement, towards research and the betterment of the quality of life. It was into the centre of this golden age of enlightenment that Kraetia entered, attacking from across the ocean. Saeda, demilitarized in its current state of peace, was caught off guard. The ports of Lasfiij and former Spirus capital Kal were overrun in a single day, and the Mauraders swept across much of the countryside as Saeda struggled to collect itself, rallying desperate, untrained militias in defense of its homeland. All seemed lost; the Kraetian war machine could not be stopped. A nation that had known peace for a century was about to be overthrown in a single month. The three fortress cities of Isthas, Craznith, and Sariis stood under siege, the last bastions of a falling kingdom.

The Saedin were desperate for a miracle. And it was a miracle they got.

A lone man, known only as Migbeat, wielding twin blades that seemed to be one with the sunrise, entered the field. It was one against an army, but here numbers meant nothing. For with each slash of Migbeat's swords, dozens were set ablaze. The tide of the siege of Isthas was turned, as the Saedin army, resurgent, drove their scorched enemies from the field. The Kraetian advance had been stopped short. Their hero, however, had vanished, leaving nothing but one blade of sunrise, stabbed into a rock that stood in the center of the battlefield.

Over the next several weeks, the Kraetians were driven back. And as researchers began study of the Sword of Sunlight, they found a way to replicate its design using the previously considered unstable crystal mined from the Spire, a massive mountain located near Craznith. The crystals seemed to have minds of their own, reaching out with their own spectral energies and interacting with the environment in ways that defied physics and logic. New weapons in hand, they drove back the Kraetians, expelling them off the continent, and followed across the ocean themselves, wielding blades through which their latent magic powers were channeled, revealing strengths long lost to humanity. It was a nation of mages versus a world of sterility. And the side of magic was winning.

But they had delved too deep; they had tampered with powers that were meant to be left alone. From the depths of the mines of the Spire countless abominations seemed to rise out of the nether. And the world was overrun.

The Saedin Dominion fought against the tides, but they could not harm the monsters without the crystals, most of which had been given to their now lost overseas army. Every attempt to defeat the swarming horde failed, the militias stricken down like rats. The Dominion retreated as the months wore on, as did the rest of the world, and the fortress cities became isolated, cut off by hordes of demons and unknown abominable monsters. It seemed that there was no hope for humanity, as the supplies of the cities dwindled. In a desperate measure, research-sages produced energy crystals capable of projecting a shield around the entire city and immediate surrounding area. For whatever reason, the monsters could not cross this barrier.

The cities were safe, isolated in their tiny bubbles. But they were alone. Communications with the outside world were scarce, brought only by Saphyr-armed caravans. The nights were harsh and unforgiving, and it was a well known fact that none could survive a crossing between safe zones in them.

Vakaran was born towards the end of the Kraetian war, during the Siege of Isthas. He was raised as a blacksmith's assistant outside Gabthrast, a small town not far from the Spire itself, and was forced to flee after his parents were murdered by monsters. Like his father he suffered from the disease they named after their family; the Kaethis Syndrome, an ailment of unknown origin by which one would suffer excruciating cramping pain on a daily basis. As one aged this pain would lead to loss of control of limbs and seizures. It was his father who found a cure; bi-daily consumption of a specific tablet. This would suppress the disorder to a state of insignificance. Kaethis Syndrome aside, his father was a master smith of the crystal, and Vakaran worked as his apprentice.

After his father's death, Vakaran forged his own weapon, the cane he now carries, the Ascendence of Flame. He is a self taught survivalist who lived on his own for months in a forsaken wasteland of monsters and demons before finally making his way to the fortress city, and capital of the Saedin Dominion, Isthas. He learned the powers of the winds from a mysterious stranger, and has channeled them into his fighting.

Alongside many others, Vakaran was drafted into the first New Saedin Brigade, tasked with gradually cleansing the wasteland of the scum that inhabited it.

I could post my edited version (based on this new backstory) of what went on in the RP from here, but that is essentially what you need to know. Vakaran lives in a world torn by apocalyptic ravages, and has hardened himself because of it, becoming an expert mage, fighter, and survivalist. He possesses a cunning intellect and ability to read emotions, and cares for the well being of others, but has little social life due to his own disinterest. He is an adept wind mage and fighter, brutal in combat, unaffected by the danger and stress of battle. Vakaran is approximately five foot ten, with brown, short-ish hair, and a scar across his left eye. This does not affect his vision.

Powers: Chance manipulation. Odds. The Being Sin DeNocta was only an avatar of the lost prince, and as such, holds less power than he. Requiem has a stronger and far wider grasp on the abilities.

Race: Wraith

Weapon/Weapons of Choice: Gauntlets, Cards, Dice, A Garotte, and a rifle.

History: A Long time ago, in a land far away, Requiem was once known as Prince Requiem of The Kingdom of Middle Earth (NS). Being the eldest, he was expected to take the throne next. Alas, within the royal family was a traitor for a foreign power. Slowly but surely they poisoned the monarchy, tearing apart the family and at least killing it. With only himself remaining, Requiem left, dropping the title, and wandering through multiple dimensions, searching for a place to settle.

After what seemed like an eternity, Requiem came acrossed a Nation known as Avalanchia which was at the time having certain troubles. Troubles which Requiem could help with, so he took a job as a detective of sorts before finding himself placed yet again in a seat of power, though not of Royalty. He remains still the Minister of Chance and Paradox, and while he mainly stays clear of the other ministers, he does attempt to keep the peace. Rather than start a war for jurisdiction over something that he has the utmost experience with, Requiem has decided to Challenge the Current Minister of Science and Technology to a duel.

Avalanche

Name: 8Bit

Race: human/cyborg

Appearance: A large Hulk-sized cyborg. His lower jaw, chest, lower arms and lower legs are completly robotic, and there's a lot of tech stored in his body. Does not wear a shirt but at least has the decency to keep some torn pants on. Grew completly bald after installation of 8-XEU25 implants, which were supposed to improve neural connections to his mechanized body.

His Hulk-like build, as well as incredibly heavy arms force him to take a gorilla-like stance

Powers/Weapons: Super Strength and several hidden weapons, including an arm mounted gattling gun and a shoulder mounted rocket launcher.

History/Personality: A rejected weapons experiment, 8Bit was supposed to be the first of a mass produced army. However, researchers found 8Bit to be incredibly simple and childlike in his behavior, possibly as a result of neural implants. He get's distracted easily, and can throw massive tantrums whenever something doesn't go the way he wants it to, usually resulting in massive damage to the direct enviroment. Researchers found he was incredibly easy to pacify with promises of games, candy and cartoons.

2 Months ago, the cyborg program got discontinued in favor for a project that involved telekinetic ostriches, leaving 8Bit with no place to go..

Do not argue Negotiator! I believe this to be a completely fair way to decide when there is a disagreement between Ministers. Much cleaner than an all out war after all. Think about how much easier things would have been if it were decided by single combat! Besides, it's not like those who die here are permanently dead.

Funny that you're trying to tell the Great Negotiator not to argue.

But you know what?

Fine. The winner gets control over dimensional studies. Whoever wins will be held under constant surveillance by the Minister of Truth, Great Negotiator, and Minister of Intelligence to ensure no power is being abused anyways. HOWEVER: All active use of dimensions must be checked with one or more of us before proceeding, though studies can be conducted on your own of course. Because fuck powerplaying.

Alright, looks good guys.

I'll be mediating over this, as Great Negotiator, and handpicked by Requiem (hell, if you wouldn't mind Req, I'd like to resume my role as Barkeep from Jake's game: an overall judge when not playing. But that's up to you.)

That said, if either of you steps out of line in terms of powerplaying, godmoding, or character control without permission, I'll shoot you a PM with a warning about it. If you don't fix it, I'll announce the violation in-thread and either declare an end to the battle or talk with others about it and decide, we'll see. Things probably won't get that far though. Just know that as judge, my decisions are final. I'm going to be completely fair about this.

Pick your battlefield, then you may begin.

I disagree, simply because it offers far fewer options than keeping this open. What if people want a battle IN THE CENTER OF THE SUN or something? Razz (extreme example, but you get the gist). Battlefield should be open to whatever. If people choose to use Avalanchia as their setting, that's fine. If they want to play in the Mushroom Kingdom, that's fine, but they should be able to do whatever.

I always sort of wondered... how exactly does a junkyard qualify as "Abandoned". Yeah, I guess there'd be someone to charge you to throw away big stuff, but If you could just go down to an abandoned junkyard and throw stuff away there it wouldn't really be abandoned, would it? It would just be unmanaged.

To a degree, the match is to decide who claims the right to have presidence over the field of Dimensions. Beyond that, neither I, nor Minister TD will be killed and removed from service in Avalanchia.

In the future, the "draw" option really shouldn't be on these polls. I feel that it should only be tied if, well, it's tied.
