So you want to doubt the only thing we have going for us in a game that barely has anything to go on. Mainly because a majority of the people (yourself included) are not doing anything.

Vote: Avos

And no Viero, there is a difference. Absent would have meant I'd show up completely unaware of what had been going on.

absent
1.
not in a certain place at a given time; away, missing ( opposed to present )
2.
lacking; nonexistent

As I said, you not being around is the very definition of absent.

I'm down with getting lynched, no worries! This is my 3rd longest game so far so I'm feeling like I have accomplished something!

I'm keeping my gears on Quaetam, and won't be changing my mind again. Apparently people are getting annoyed at all my switches. I switch when new information is brought up, if I'm proven wrong why would I keep my vote on something that has been brought up as wrong? Just so I can look more confident? Eh, doesn't matter! See you guys next game!

I am just waiting for the post game to see what all Relmitos has created and what all happened over the course of the game. Gonna be a few more days but I'm patient I can wait until you guys figure things out.

Re: Mafia Game 23 - Hunters vs. Arkz at the Casino Voloyal, Game over, Hunters win

Post  Relmitos on Sat Mar 09, 2013 11:00 pm

There Rio was, a card shark at the poker table. She was deep into the current game, with four other players. She was doing great, losing every now and then but winning over all. Things were going just right for Rio, until one particular hand was played. Two of the players had an Ace of Spades. Rio having one Ace, Endu having the other.

The poker table immediately exploded in argument and accusations. Obviously one of them is the cheater, but who? This was bad. Rio was already in trouble, this just made things worse. A search was conducted between the two players. Endu was grabbed first, as the other players started digging through his pockets trying to find any signs of foul play. After a fairly thorough search, it was Rio's turn. A quick search revealed a slew of hidden cards, revealing to the table who the cheat was.

This was it; everyone else had already been revealed for the con men they were, and finally it was Rio's turn. The crowd had finally found exactly who they needed.

TheTJ was banned from the Casino, he was Rio, the final member of the Arkz!

Game over everyone! Thanks for playing!

This. Goddamn guys, what the hell was up with you this game? I got lynched on four votes, TWO players got modkilled for inactivity and the town won on day 5. It was an absolute joke. And Weldar, really, outright sulking and refusing to play because you got a role you didn't like? Jeez, seriously. At least DF did a bit of work on the thread and TJ plotted on the side forum so we weren't entirely a lost cause.

So yeah Relm, I do apologise, I do feel we let the game down by people not doing shit. The mafians had interesting roles, and from what people were claiming in the thread it looks like the town had some pretty nifty ones too. I am really looking forward to the role writeups and the game mechanics, especially how the mid-phase games worked.

So yeah, good game guys, I had fun the whole three days I was in it Razz

Well, that was quick. Still, a pretty fun game, even if I didn't really have an interesting role, it seems like there were a lot.

I just want to know, why did I die so early? I didn't think I was suspicious enough for a Vig kill, but still suspicious enough for the mafia to keep me around.

Re: Mafia Game 23 - Hunters vs. Arkz at the Casino Voloyal, Game over, Hunters win

Post  Relmitos on Sun Mar 10, 2013 12:05 pm

Alright, I'm sure your all wondering what the hell was going on with all the roles, so let me give you all the skinny.(Meant to put that in one of the story posts, but I forgot, so meh)

Anyway, for a start, apologies for the various bits of derpy-ness I had hosting this. For those of you affected by it, you know what I'm talking about. Was so nervous making this game I kept on forgetting a couple details here and there in some of the role PM's, or roles weren't descriptive enough in what they could and could not do, having to actively mod the game behind it all. Those kinds of things. Example being, I gave Minby his role PM, he rolled Masons, I neglected to put the link to the mason forum in it. Whoopsie. Things like that. It's like I told a few people, I didn't expect hosting to be hard, and it really wasn't, I just kept on stumbling over little details all over the place. Was a mess. Ok then, that out of the way, roles.

Hunter Roles part 1

Role: Luck of the Draw
Player: Kailoli/Smashbro
Alignment: Hunters (Town)
Character: Glustar
Description: You are Glustar and you live for this. Life has always been a big game to you, and this is your big chance. The Casino Voloyal is about to have it's grand opening, and it's time for a party. You have a saying that you live by: "Life's just one big gamble, after all." Your Lady Luck(The Stella role) is out there somewhere, and you need to find her

What you Actually Do: Your one of the special roles I came up with for this game. Lucky you. You pick a card from the two to the ace(So two, three, four, etc) and get a power according to the card you have drawn. Beware, the two will not necessarily be the weakest power, and the ace won't necessarily be the strongest power. The spread of powers are, 5 cops, 5 docs, 1 vig, 1 role block, 1 driver. Lastly, if you locate(act on) the Lady Luck role(Stella), the two of you can work together and remain in contact for the rest of the game. You will not be lover bonded in the process.

Ah, the Luck of the Draw role. This is the role that sparked the whole idea behind this game. For those of you that really enjoyed this game, you have this role to thank for it. This role spawned from the idea that for the most part, there's a lot of hosts around here that add their own special roles. Example being that Yoshi role Smash likes. The idea just popped into my head one night and I really liked it, so here it is. As you can tell by looking at the description here, I gave this role a slew of powers it could land on, but for the most part I wanted it to swap from doc and cop, hence the ratio of doc/cop/vig/role block/driver. I'll actually go over what everyone did with their powers later on, if I can remember them all. Kailoli didn't really play a big part in the game unfortunately, said she was sick and had too much on her plate to do and the like. I got lucky with Smash though, not only was the timing perfect for him to replace Kailoli, he had also been keeping tabs on the game and watching the flow of things. So the moment he started to play, he hit the ground running, immediately listing a group of suspects and thoughts to catch up on things. Unfortunately he never actually got to use his role, as he got jailed the day he joined the game, and the game ended on the following day. Alas. Overall I'm pretty pleased with his performance. No complaints here.

Role: Lady Luck
Player: Spoonman Abrams
Alignment: Hunters (Town)
Character: Stella
Description: You are Stella, the Hunters' very own Lady Luck. You have lots of charisma and your mere presence inspires others. You wish the best for all, and you'll help them get it, but there is one that's above all others, and you must find him. He goes by the name of Glustar.

What you actually do: As Lady Luck, you grant the target the lucky version of their role, strengthening their night action for that night. You are not allowed to pick the same target twice in a row. Does not affect every role. You must also locate Glustar. Do this simply by acting on him. Should you find him, the two of you can work together and remain in contact for the rest of the game. You will not be lover bonded in the process.

Lady Luck. This is actually the second unique role I had come up with, but it didn't exactly transition from the first incarnation to this game's version of it. The first version I came up with was before I decided to transform the game into Casino Voloyal. Before I was just going to tell the Stella/Lady Luck player to pick a number based on the remaining player list, apply it to an RNG, and steal the power from the matching player, and give it to Stella/Lady Luck. As I said, this incarnation of the role didn't make it here, as you can tell, but what I did was make it boost the target's power to the lucky strength without question. I thought Spoon would find the Luck of the Draw/Glustar role N1, as he brought Kailoli here for this game, and that's who had the role. It's unfortunate that he got gunned down N1, but he was the mafia's top choice as they were afraid of him being able to rally the town against them so they wanted him gone before he had the chance to do just that. As such he wasn't able to contribute very much, but I was glad he joined regardless.

Role: Poker Player
Player: Requiem
Alignment: Hunters (Town)
Character: Endu
Description: You are Endu, the Hunters' very own card shark. Very calm and collected, you've just entered your paradise. Time to put on that poker face and get to work.

What you actually do: As you may have guessed, every night you play a game of poker and the power you gain is based on the strength of your hand, getting progressively stronger as your hand gets stronger. They are, High Card: Bomb;    Pair: Tracker;    Two Pair: Death Speaker;    Three of a kind: Driver;    Straight: Doc;    Flush: Role Nullifier;    Full House: Vig; Straight Flush:Role Blocker(Difference between Blocker and Nullifier is, blocker prevents the target from acting while nullifier stops actions from happening on the target);    Royal Flush: Reviver

The Poker Player! This was another role that popped into my head instantly when I sat down and started creating this game, and I thought it ended up well enough. After the first night phase I looked at the powers he had available and went "You know, some of these just aren't appropriate for how hard the hand is to get" so I kept the High Card as Bomb, because I wanted there to be SOMETHING for not getting anything at all, but I wanted to make it fairly unattractive so as to avoid having the player fold on purpose in order to get it, and thought bomb fit the bill. I left one pair as tracker as well, as I thought that was fair, but D2 I went to Req and told him that I'd allow him to change up three of a kind and higher to whatever he wanted within reason, and told him that two pair would be a combo of death speaker and reviver. He wouldn't have been able to use both at the same time, and I doubled it up with revive and death speaker so he we still have something to do with dead guys and would have something to do with 2 pair, as I wasn't going to allow consecutive uses of revives. Didn't matter in the long run, as apparently my luck is terrible with cards and the best he ever drew was a pair. When I told him he could pick what powers the hands could have, he actually only changed two of them: Three of a Kind became a lightning rod, Straight Flush a Jailer. I turned Royal Flush into a "Whatever you can think of that I don't find incredibly game breaking", and it's a good thing I kept that in check. Req's first idea was "Revive all townies". That would've been an instant Arkz loss right there if I would've allowed it. Overall though, I'm pleased with his performance. Maintained a good amount of activity both in-thread and behind the scenes. He had some great behind the scenes play while I'm at it. In thread, he kept making claims about his awesome role, and kept on folding to turn himself into a bomb and give the mafia a nasty surprise. The mafia never targeted him however, so it didn't amount to much in the end, but it was a good plan regardless.

As a small aside, I was really, really hoping Req would RNG into this role, as I know poker and other miscellaneous card games are one of his interests. I'm so glad he actually managed. RNG was cool this game.

Role: Black Jack Ace (Driver)
Player: Fedaykin
Alignment: Hunters (Town)
Character: Hyze
Description: You are Hyze, the driver. Your game of choice? Black Jack. You live life on the edge, pushing yourself to the limit without going overboard.

What you actually do: You play a game of Black Jack, and your role alters like this. Your hand landing anywhere between 1-16, you are a normal driver. 17-21, you pick three people instead of two. You pick two of the people to drive and it acts like normal. The third person you pick, any actions done to this person will instead be redirected to both of the first two targets. To avoid purposely busting just in an attempt to hit between 17-21 without being afraid, if you bust, you must bus yourself with someone.

Ah, the driver. The moment I gave Fed this role, I got this nice spaz about how much he loves the driver role and thinks it's the best role in the game. Of course out of all the games he could possibly get it, it's the one where he had a chance to make it stronger. As Q said in the thread, it was Q himself that gave me the idea on how to boost this role's strength. I didn't ask him what he would do though, he simply threw out that suggestion and I liked it, so I added it in. He chose poorly N1 though; he got his lucky power and told me "hmmm.....who should I protect, Weldar or Raya? Both are high profile targets" and they were both Arkz. Oh well. Fed was another player I appreciate having joined the game in the first place and he remained quite active all game, save the weekend he went to Poland, I think it was Not a big deal though.

Role: Security Cop
Player: Viero
Alignment: Hunters (Town)
Character: Rufina
Description: You are Rufina, the cop around these parts. There's something fishy about this casino, and you aim to get to the bottom of it, through any means necessary. This could possibly be a legit operation, but you have your doubts, and you need to figure it out before the patrons get robbed blind.

Oh I felt so bad sending this role out. A game where chance plays a part in almost every single role, except this role, the doc, the tracker. Truth be told though, the reason this happened was two fold. First, I was actually running out of side games I could play, and second I didn't know what I could do to augment the cop role could be short of it scanning multiple people. There was a suggestion in thread that would've made the God Father a little less effective. Viero played a good game actually, but he was foiled by Ansem and a couple other things numerous times, so he only got a couple scans off successfully. I'll go into detail about that later when I go over all the night actions. Funny thing, on the phase Perry was holding onto the C.A.R.D., Viero had made only two scans. First was on Perry, and the second was on Snake. Shenanigans happened and Snake scanned inno to Viero instead of un-aligned. Snake was all happy that the guy claiming cop came out and said he was innocent, was not as thrilled when he also said Perry was inno, the guy Snake had to kill. I thought that was funny. Grats on living the whole game, btw. Viero was quite active in the thread and it pleased me.

It was mainly you coming out and saying you thought there was a framer. We thought it strange since the framer is not a role that we often have, then the game that we *do* have it in you say you think we have one. We suspected that you either knew something or- since the mafia could recruit the person with the Vivianna role- you might be her, and that was your way of dropping a hint. Either way we thought it was a good bet, because even if you were neither it was still another townie down.
