Oh, sites in the UK, sure, that I do know Razz

The Archemides genus is found in the US and Europe. It might be a certain *species* of Archemides that is only found it your area.

ah that explains it. thanks roxy! Razz oh and i'll be going and finding more fossils in the future so if you'd like any U.S. midwest fossils to add to your collection let me know. I haven't found any fantastically amazing ones yet, but it may change (though finding great ones on/near the surface is pretty hard as i've found out already :/)

Roooooooxaaaaaaaaaaaanne...

(My name was going to be Charlotte, but mum thought people would call me Charlotte the harlot. Which isn't true, really, nobody even would've know what a harlot was until about year 11/year 12 English. Course, my last name got me enough teasing as it was.)

I can't remember if I ever told you guys this, but my friends and I were talking today and the subject of Homestar Runner came up. We started talking about our favourite moments and I mentioned I had had an email answered by Strong Bad.

Yup.

http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail15.html

Now, I was pretty young back then, but I actually remember sending that email with my younger brother. It also started the "Crappy" thing, which was hilarious to a younger me.

No 2 ways about it, this post is just me bragging, but I still think it's pretty cool.

Well, I never say no to being given fossils Smile Thank you!

And hey, fossils don't have to be huge or flashy to be fantastically amazing. My favourite one I ever found was a Gryphaea (devil's toenail) that I just picked up off the ground. It had been preserved with its small valve open, so it must have died and been buried when it was feeding. It's uncommon to find a Grypheae with both valves, let alone one in feeding position. My favourite one I own I got given, which is a nautilus. It looks rubbish at first glance, but when you look closely at it you start to see the details. The top half is worn, encrusted with worms and oysters, and in the broken shell you can see where mud has flowed in and swept in smaller creatures. Flip it over and the shell is perfectly preserved, even with its organic coating. It's a wonderful example of taphonomy (how fossils are formed), because you can work out exactly what happened to the nautilus from when it died to when it was buried and fossilised. So just because you haven't found a dinosaur bone doesn't mean you haven't found amazing fossils!

Speaking of baby names, mine came very close to being Lorelei. After a song by a band my parents are obsessed with, not the vengeful spirit that lures men to their deaths Razz

900 dollar tax return...

Already spent all of it on Doctor Who. In one go.

Ummm... I may actually legitimately have a serious problem. Like... I need rules or something. I can't keep doing this.

TJ, didn't you say a while ago you already spent $1600 on Doctor Who stuff?

I think Camilla's right, you're really in need of an intervention. That's an obscene amount of money to spend on anything, much less merchandise from a 50 year old British TV show...

Oh, I reckon it's much higher than that Raya... I think I've spent about... Hrm. $6000 at this point, and I'm just getting started with the novels and not half done with the DVDs.

Now, this is spread out over a year, so it comes to about 100 dollars a week, and since I make 375 a week I still pay all bills and stuff.

Boy, once I'm up to date on everything, money will just PILE up.

Start budgeting. Set aside X% of your income to savings and only savings, not to be touched by you for anything other than emergencies, Alternatively, make an amount that is dedicated only to dr who spending, and ensure that amount is not just your income minus your bills. It's easy to fall into habits of spending all your excess income when times are good, but it's really important to start building a pile of capital you can fall back on if you're unemployed, if you or a family member is sick or needs emergency car or home repairs, or jsut for generally when shit goes wrong.

Just my two cents, sorry this this seems like condescending advice.

Oh I have a constant buffer of $1000 at the bank that I try to never go under. It's just that Doctor Who takes up all the money I don't spend on bills or food. It's not that I'm hurting for money, it's just the fact that I spend more on Doctor Who than everything else combined.

Doesn't sound condescending to me, Surge. You'd be surprised how many people don't realize how effective budgeting is. I used to budget a lot when I started earning money, but got careless by going to too many conventions last year.
