This actually would make since. Or...,perhaps Dededee was warned of the disembowler by his contact, and then set that little scene up to rouse the Disembowler and to throw the police force a screw ball.
Another theory could be that the Disembowler and Dededee made a deal and set the little "Death" as a way to get Dededee out of the picture until the disembowler could kill the rest of the mob leaders.

So maybe this has all been though of before - new to this thread, and honestly didnt go back 60pgs to check, but did search, and found nothing.

Besides the costuming difficulties (which I suppose would be understandable), is there any reason why the main villain behind-it-all would not follow the story actually set out in Brawl? So far, the basic plot elements are there (characters that didn't make it into Brawl from Melee were cut first, so on), so I submit the murderer as Taboo.
He certainly disemboweled me when I fought him. Danced around in my skin, too, the psycho.
I guess I understand that Link & Zelda would be pissed off and ripe for revenge after their kingdom got bought out and their gods abandoned them, but I have a hard time really buying into the whole "Link and Zelda are evil masterminds" thing.

nah, if Tabbuu were to appear, he'd be a easter egg I think. like a design being on a poster or something of his trademark butterflywing thingies.

The BD could be Bowser, both of whom have demonstrated they are incredibly difficult to track down.. and Bowser would be just the one to tear a being limb from limb and leave their guts for the birdo's. Then again, Luigi did say "his a-no psychopath".

Who (out of the people that aren't in the know) know's? Bowsers first on-screen scene could be of him licking his.. paw? of what remains of D3 or some other dismembered victim.

I dont think so. I mean it's a possibility, but Bowsers a budest and on top of that it's not Bowsers style to kill. I mean had it been then the Mushroom kingdom would have probably went to hell well before the time they specified (Remember it took the death of a loved one to drive the M bros over the edge so to speak.)

This has probably been said, but what about the BD being Sheik? Zelda is always so arrogant and Sheik obviously has sneaking skills and isn't intimidated by Link. It would also fit if they try to end TWBB on a happy note, with Peach being rescued and Zelda being proven to be the killer so she loses the throne.

And you trust a Koopa why? If Luigi and Mario (more so Mario) are out and about getting in peoples grills, I'm sure Bowser could do a lot lot worse in the depraved world Matt and Zach have made, or they really could've gone that way and made characters the opposite of what they were... making Bowser a Don Saint. -scoffs- Yeah... no.

Trophies have been discussed before in our fruitless attempts to point blame at the killings, but we may have been thinking about them in the wrong way. In real life, people who take bits of memorabilia from their murder victems are sid to be taking trophies. So far, the only pack rat we've seen is Olimar.

May or may not mean anything.
