But that's what I said. I mean, I don't see a firm basis, unless I missed something Matt and/or Zach said, to claim Link is a different person from his younger alter-ego (Young/Toon Link), and if the basis is that adult and young are different characters in the games, I say Dr. Mario was separate from Mario in Melee as well, yet they didn't make Dr. Mario another Mario in TWBB (which would have been killed). Well, that's why I believe Young/Toon Link is just Link younger, and not another person, and also let's not forget that that flashback is like, 6 years (and some months, most probably) before Episode 1 (to me, this makes that Link qualified as "young(er)").

However, neither of us can really do more than point out our different interpretations. Matt/Zach stated that Young Link and Toon Link were going to be the same person, but the idea that Link as he appeared in that flashback was meant to be Young Link is something that the fans came up with.

He is younger in the flashback, but he's not like ten or whatever Young Link is supposed to be. So I mean - do with that as you will!

My favorite is people pointing out his "rounder face," as if we forced poor Tony Rago to put on weight for this one scene. (We did.)

Side note: Tony just got booked for a Nickelodeon show (not sure the name of it yet), so we're all very happy for him! Be sure to buy all his merchandise!

Has anyone ever told Tony how good he looks in aviators? Really, few people can pull them off as well as he can.

Just going to put in my two cents, because these videos, and the discussion so far, are very interesting to me.

I should note that I have only watched the episodes once, so deep insight into facial expressions, awkward events (such as PT's trach takeout) and such will probably be lacking, other than what I've read. I should also note that I am going to assume that the characters who have "died" have actually died. This is just for simplicity on my part, as theories like "DDD isn't dead... he just wants to rule the area" and such get too complicated.

Obvious background: Roy, Pichu, M2, DDD, Yoshi and Xpuffball have been killed. Falco, Wolf, Ike (probably), etc have also died in less important ways. I'm actually not sure how it said Roy and Pichu had died, either....

First obvious point: we don't know which puffball died. It makes sense that it is either MK or Kirby, but given the view angle, I can only assume that one of them is dead, not which one. I'm not sure how they would have faked that and both be alive... or why this would be.

second obvious point, but most people have missed: The killer has purposefully left identifiers for the victims. If you remember, DDD's hammer was with his remains, then Yoshi's head.. I don't think that this is anything out of the ordinary

Question #1: Why would the killer kill Yoshi? I mean, thus far, when somebody gets in their way, they just end up dead... so the "send a message to Mario" idea doesn't really apply. Given their record, it seems that they would have just eliminated Mario, rather than hoping intimidation gets him off track. Then again, Yoshi can't really talk, so I'm not sure how he would have posed any risk to the killer... and if so, why leave his remains on Mario's bed? There's a similar idea with Roy and Pichu, but I thought those were just to make the "lawl, didn't make it into Brawl" joke.
The only explanation I can offer here is that the killer wants or needs Mario alive still, and was just playing a game with him. I don't really think it's a random warning to him, because that doesn't seem to be the killer's method. This, imo, would mean that the killer has some sort of personal vendetta or grudge against Mario... somebody he's ruffled.

Question #2: I don't really know what to think about Olimar's place in the story, especially after this episode. He got his blood on the smash ball for what exactly? I'm not sure. Add to that the Pikmin dust he had Luigi give Ganondorf... he's pretty confusing in every episode, so I really don't know where to place him in all this. I do not feel he is the killer, at most just a catalyst for the killer.

Question #3: The puffball was obviously burned and melted.. how did this happen? Neither of the two puffballs was capable of using fire, unless they had a fireflower, or kirby had some random fire character's power... or the Pawnch somehow reached into that room, as well. This has been explored in depth in the posts previous to this one, and I don't really feel I can give too much insight on how one was burned... As for why they were burned to that degree... that makes a pretty good cover for Kirby to still be alive, eh? I mean, why would MK (or anybody else for that matter) burn Kirby? That certainly doesn't seem in-character for him, and nobody else would have too much reason.


At this point, I would like to assume that the killer is an actual Smash character, and not a side char like Lakitu for example... that would be a bit anti-climactic. So, for characters of interest:

MK: actually, this is an amazing theory. MK is obsessed with Kirby... and so, basically becoming another Kirby, per se, seems reasonable to believe this. He's also good with a blade, but this is a more minor point, because Kirby's comments were basically to focus more on "why" rather than "how"
Possible complications arise from the fact that MK might be dead, and he seemingly always watched Kirby before. It is possible that he snuck in and out.. I mean, we know he can hide well.

Wario: Idk... I just can't see this happening. I mean, there's a likely chance that he's in some way connected to the killer (he's seemingly connected to almost every character in this story), but I do not believe that he is actually involved. Sure, he's benefitting from the chaos, but he didn't try to step into M2's roll, and he benefited with the cops by ratting people out. He seems incredibly small-time to be a part of a large scheme like this. He may very well have furthered the plot along in one of several different ways, and helped the killer, but I don't believe him to be directly involved...or aware, if he is. It's possible somebody bigger has their thumb on him, forcing him to do things like rifle through paperwork, etc... but yeah, he's small-time. I also think this lead is too obvious, given his general shadiness the whole series, especially with the IC's being at Mario's house.

IC's: ok so who are they working with? It seems pretty obvious that they are under somebody... don't seem to be a very capable single-entity... and Wario's nervousness around them early on in the series seemed to indicate that they aren't necessarily only working for him. Why were they at mario's house? Did they deliver Yoshi's remains? again, I kinda think not, but I'm not sure why... I think they're more likely spying on Mario. They did seem to be fighting with Yoshi before his unfortunate death, so I could see how they took him to the killer or something... but Mario also said "Yoshi always finds his way home" so it could be that he fought them off, and made it back to the house, only to be killed there. the question remains...why?

PT: I honestly think that people suspect him just because he's the "innocent" one in the story... and while I can give that merit, it's not good enough. His weird actions and reactions do warrant a bit of consideration... and honestly, he would make for an interesting killer, with quite a few tools (as in pokemon) at his disposal. Why would he kill Pichu or M2, though? he seems so excited about them. lol. Also, as a quick question, why was Squirtle locked up? Was that actually explained? If not, that could increase the guilt I put on PT.

Pit: this is actually a very interesting idea. People say that he's working under the Captain, so he couldn't, but that could all be a cover (I mean, he's got those shifty eyes), or Captain might be in on it, honestly... I don't believe that CF is in on it, but you can't discount the possibility. He is a bounty hunter, so any guilt put onto Samus due to this must also fall on CF.

Zamus: I honestly think that she's being set up as the scapegoat at the moment, which would lead me to believe that she will die soon. Yes, she's being placed at all the scenes as a possibility, but it's been kinda obvious.

Link/Zelda: almost too obvious. I mean, with Peach out of the way, they stand to take power... that's a pretty good motive for the abduction. I do not feel that they would like to see another kingdom that they are in control of fail. I mean, I think they're hardened, a bit crooked, and overall not trustworthy, but to this point, if you look at it through their eyes, they are taking reasonable actions in order to try to lock down the kingdom, stop then pandemonium, and regroup. I do not believe they are responsible.

Young/Toon Link: No idea if he's even going to show up...

Ganon: Where is he in all this, and how is he related to Olimar? I get the feeling he will be a VERY pivotal character in this, but again, ruling the mob isn't a good enough reason to do all this, especially with the new Yoshi death. no reason for that.

Fox: A very interesting character. Easily one of my favorites in the series... I don't see any reason he should be the killer, though.

Marth: A lot of the arguments that pit him as the killer make sense. I don't see a clear enough motive for the killings and the WAY in which he kills, though.

Peach: Everything led me to believe it is her, except for the fact that she went to Kirby early on... I mean, she didn't have to do that to retain a cover... but to destroy the kingdom isn't a good option either. I could see how she might want to destroy the crime in the city, so get rid of the mob bosses, but the killings of DDD and Yoshi realy throw me off here...

GW: Some actually decent arguments have been posted against him, but he might be a bit too background of a character

Diddy Kong (not sure why a non-speaking thug character would orchestrate such an elaborate plot)

Fox (implausible, no real motive, and he's small-time)
Ganondorf (very possible. Not sure about motive, other than causing chaos to take over the kingdom. And why kill Yoshi?)
Ice Climbers (Seem to be henchman of some sort, rather than masterminds)
Ike (presumably dead)
Jigglypuff (not a big role in the series)
King Dedede (dead)
Kirby (either dead or imprisoned for most of the series anyway, so I'm going to say...nah)
Link (decent motive, but doesn't seem in the spirit of the character)
