Everyone that says this is retarded
Just sit at the entrance for a little bit and keep sapping. Sapper will kill it before the engy can fix it completely.Avalanche91 wrote:still want a new ctf level of the same quality as 2fort ^^
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I hope you're kidding
sorry for liking that level ^^; I dont mind the sapping bit as either engineer or spy. Ussually my opponent in either class are even worse then me, and thats a scary thought.

Being able to Capture enemy intel under at least 40 sec is a bad thing. No?

I've yet to actually play the game, but I love the Meet The Class videos. Wish they'd come out with the Pyro and Medic videos, though.

I'm guessing we haven't seen a Pyro one cause he'd be kinda hard to do... or at least understand. Though i too want to see Pyro and medic ones.

I recall reading somewhere that Valve is currently working on making the Pyro video now. Dunno when it'll be out, though...

Pyro is female. And probably Swedish.
This is the truth.

Other than that, solid update. Valve never fails.
Even as a spy, I still really like that feature. The spy still has an edge over the engie when it comes to sappin stuff, but this update makes things a little more fair. The engie now has a fair chance to fight to keep his entrance up. Keep in mind also that if you repeatedly sap an engineers building as a spy, assuming no one but you and the engie intervenes, you will eventually destroy it as you can sap faster then he can destroy.
That's a tall assumption. When there is a team of 15 people constantly streaming out of the spawn area, in the 8-10 seconds it takes to sap the entrance, an opponent is probably going to come and kill you before you can finish the job. I notice this as both spy and engineer; you can tell when there is a spy at your entrance. I keep fixing the sapper and he keeps sapping, but something stops him and no harm is done. I'd say this occurs about 3/4 of the time.
Pretty much the best chance of sapping the teleporters is to blindly go through the thing into an engineer's nest and hope that there isn't a teammate of his hanging out by the dispenser or something.
So nothing is impossible, but when you guys say "Oh, just keep sapping the entrance! No problem!" that's just not how it works.
EDIT: Although I never said I thought the update was "retarded", just that I wasn't very fond because I usually play spy, and that it DID make it more difficult. The new level of challenge and strategy required is kind of nice, though; sapping entrances was a bit too easy before. I think it would be perfect if the Engy could take off sappers from both teleporters, but not repair them. That way, it would usually take two spies one after another or one very good spy to destroy it.

Re: Team Fortress 2
SurgePox showed me a cool server to play on with the map rotations of arcade Donkey Kong themed map and one based off Pac-Man. Really fun, it'd be awesome to get a party going on on the server, better than the 2v2 or 3v3 matches we had going.
Edit: One of the guys I met on said maps is playing with about 20 people total, was probably just bad timing then.

That map is on my favorites list, it usually has 0 people on it. people only start joining once the server is filling up. We might be able to have a little party if we all get on at around the same time, just anyone else who would want to join would be able to. I'm also not sure if it's bad etiquette to have an event on someone else's server, anyone who would know let me know ASAP.

Re: Team Fortress 2
I doubt they mind the extra activity.
In other news, I go to a set of servers regularly as well; the Fug community servers. If you load up the server list and then organize by the lowest ping, you'll usually see one or two Fug servers up there, and they're always, ALWAYS full.
After five minutes of "Join automatically when a spot opens" setting, you'll get in. There's never any lag (ping is almost always under 100), it's always a full server, and there's a lot of map rotation, so you can play for multiple hours without being fatigued by one map. I'm guessing it is also heavily moderated, because I have yet to run into a single mic spammer.
For what you guys were talking about, though, I'd like to join in to any sort of gathering you guys may have, I still have yet to play any of you (not sure if I'm particularly liked around this site yet, however).
