The Legend of Zelda: Discussion.

Post  Sypher (AP) on Tue Oct 14, 2008 9:41 am

Alright, here we can talk about the LoZ series to our heart's content.

We can either continue what we were talking about, or start another discussion concerning Zelda.

I agree, Majora's Mask is also my favourite Zelda. Although I tend to find it isn't really that people don't like it. In my experience it usually sits somewhere in the middle of people's lists, they don't love it and they don't hate and, and thus people forget it. But when you remind them of it they're all like, Oh yeah that one, it was pretty cool.

I guess your right. Though most of the people I ran into myself hated the game.

Also here is my list. (The ones I've played.)

Majora's Mask
Link's Awakening/DX
Wind Waker
Oracle of Seasons
The Minish Cap
Ocarina of Time
Oracle of Ages
Twilight Princess
A Link to the Past
Four Swords Adventure
The Adventure of Link
The Legend of Zelda

Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker are tied for my favorites. I think Phantom Hourglass may have had the best puzzles and the idea of a central recurring dungeon was really cool. Zant was beyond awesome until...well. Yeah. I think Wind Waker had the best story and characters, excluding Midna and Linebeck.

So, yeah, my favorite Zelda is Link's Awakening. x3 Whee.

I'm so weird... but then again, I don't like the 3D Zeldas. xp Not at all.

I actually consider Wind Waker my favorite Zelda game, i thought it was brilliant.
Ocarina of Time is a close second.

For Me:
Wind Waker
Ocarina of Time
Twilight Princess
Minish Cap
A Link to the Past
Majora's Mask
Oracle of Seasons
Oracle of Ages
Phantom Hourglass
Link's Awakening
Four Swords Adventures
Legend of Zelda
Adventure of Link

However, it's not to say that the last ones suck, just not as epic, for me. But at the time, they were. Except for Adventure of Link... I hated that one. Also, PH was disappointing to me

Yeah, so I just copied what I had in the other thread.

I've chatted with a couple other people who thought the same. Good times.

I know, though some people hate the art style and thought it was a bit too short, but i thought the length was perfect and the art was charming and captivating.

When I first saw the art months before the game's release, I was like, "WTF? Oh well, I'll still get it."
The once I played the game, the art style grew on me, which is why I love it's uniqueness. The music fitted it perfectly as well. The lenght, I too, thought was perfect. It was shorter than say Ocarina or TP now, but those are just F-in long. With WW, I don't feel a sense of dread at the length if I want to play through it again, which is why I played through it about 4 times now. Same also goes for the GBA ones. I've played through them a lot because of the shorter length. But I would prefer a Zelda game to be longer than shorter, if anything.

When i first saw the art, i actually threatened to never play it. I only tryed it after my friend informed me that it was getting killer reviews, and that i should get over graphics for the great gameplay (as i've always had a rather outspoken opinion that Good Gameplay > Good Graphics)

^I really had no clue what to make of the art style. I really wasn't upset, just a little confused. Then I played the game. Quite possibly the most brilliant thing Nintendo has done for the Zelda series, as far as using art itself as a way of telling the story. Plus it had the best ending of any game I've ever played. I think.

Ending was epic, and i think it was one of the better story lines of any zelda games. the art was beautiful and expressive, and the cartoonyness made for some occasional comic relief.
