TWBB Pokemon Tournament

Out of curiosity, is anybody up for a Pokemon tournament?

Depending on how many people want in, it'd either be a knockout or a round robin style tourny. The rules would be as follows:

- 6 Pokemon per squad, although less can be used if both players agree
- No duplicate Pokemon
- No duplicate items
- Lv50+ (so no FEAR Rattatas!)
- No Arceus (since he has technically not been released yet)
- Either double or single matches; combatants decide between themselves
- Battles can be played either on the DS or Battle Revolution (again, players choice).

Prizes? Well, there's bragging rights. Maybe someone can whip up a banner or picture for the winners.

So, anyone interested?

Sounds cool, although so far my team's strictly in-game fighting, so they might not do that well

Any rules against "Ubers" as they're called? Just in case my Garchomp would be too unfair or something.

Nahh, I'll say that any Pokemon goes (save Arceus), because not everybody will have a squad of non-Ubers. Besides, with strategy it's easy to beat Ubers; I once got my ass kicked by a Primeape, and I've managed to wipe out an entire squad of legendaries using just a Skarmory

What's wrong with using FEAR? How is it not a valid strategy?

Because it's cheesy, that's why

Although it's easily countered once you know what's going on, it's just to prevent someone sneakily dominating by persuading people to have 1 on 1s.

Am I allowed to PokeSav a team? Can we use shoddy battle?

I've never used "Shoddy battle". Kind of a strange name.

I don't even have any pokémon who are level 70 and I haven't ever made a competitive team <_<

I've been thinking of it though. I was thinking something like Infernape, Porygon-Z, Blissey, Ninjask, Bronzong and Tentacruel.

I'm quite good at pokemon but I don't play online. At all.

Shoddy battle is a program that lets you fight Pokemon online. You can choose your Pokemon/level/stats etc and construct your own team. it's handy for trying out new strategies, but I've found it suprisingly hard to actually get battles.

Pokesav, no. It's too open to abuse. I'd say the same for Shoddy, but some people may find it easier to have a battle on that than connect up their DS-es. So as long as you have a legit squad on the actual game, if both players agree you can do the match over Shoddy.

Don't worry, EVs aren't the be-all and end-all; they just give a nice boost!

On Battle Revolution there's the option to reduce all fighters' levels to 50. So if your levels are vastly different from your opponent's, just ask to do that to make it fair.

I'll probably put that Honchkrow (when it evolves into that) I just got from you in there too. =P

having no wireless sucks.....not that my pokemon are very high leveled. having a way-to-large team makes me spend too much time grinding for the leagau now. and I dont even know which to pick >< next tourney I'll be there though...I hope.

Maybe I can even beat 1 of you?
