Avalanche walked around the remains of the enemy camp. Highland soldiers were pouring in to kill what little resistance there was left. Avalanche was disgusted, even a little frightened by all the gore in the camp. Perry and Vandir in particular really maimed the enemy.
As he heard someone say they found TJ and Sahrimnir in a tent together, Avalanche snickered softly, thinking of a witty remark to distract him from the death around him.
He yawned and stretched a little. As soon as the fighting ended, he felt the adrenaline go away, and realised how tired he was. He felt drained after casting so many shield spells, followed by the slow curing of Snake and Ansem…. he needed a nap.

As he was about to kid around with Perry, Minby and Weldar returned to the camp, bearing ill news.
Avalanche found himself frozen hearing the numbers they’d be up against. The panic in their voices could only mean one thing.
”This fight is impossible….” he thought to himself.”Come on man think…..Highland soldiers reinforcements, large numbers, estimate……over 300 soldiers. Estimated enemy numbers over a thousand…..half that due to panic of the observers……no choke
points, higher ground, unlikely to make a diffrence………fuck……..come on….possibilities!?”
Avalanche placed his hands against his head trying to find a way out of this mess.

”Its not your fate to die here today.”
Avalanche looked up and saw Vandir walking forward. He reached in his tunic and pressed a scroll with a red wax seal on it in Avalanche’s hands.
"This document is an official order from the King himself, requesting your safe passage through any city state you find yourself in. I was hoping I would be the one to escort you, but it's not to be. You need to flee east, into Leknaat. Go seek out the Ruling Council, tell them what is happening and beseech their aid. Their paladins are mighty paragons, strong and resolute. If anyone can turn the tide it would be them."
Avalanche looked dumbfounded.”What do you mean, why give this to.....You can’t stay here! Its suicide!”
“Avalanche.”
"You said you'd stay and protect us! You didn't lead us across the border just to get slaughtered here! You need to come with us, you need to-"
“AVALANCHE!”

Avalanche bitterly realized what had to be done. He didn’t want to accept it, but he saw the reason behind it. He hung his head, understanding what Vandir wanted.
He hid the scroll in his sash and got on to one of the appointed horses. As he looked back he saw the determination of the highland soldiers. They knew their fate, and didn’t cower from it.
”Is this also expected from us? To die for a world we hardly know? He thought to himself as he saw the others get up on the horses as well.
As Raya gave the order to move out, Avalanche doublechecked if he had the scroll.
”Still there, and not moving. he thought to himself.

They followed the directions given to them, well on their way to Leknaat.

Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread - Page 7 Empty Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  Fedaykin on Tue Apr 26, 2011 5:01 pm

The faint screams, filled with despair and agony, sang their song of terror in the champion's ears. It didn't take much to imagine the clash of metal, steel carving through armour and flesh, cracking bones, dismembering the stout dwaren defenders. The memories of their own battle still fresh in their minds like a festering wound, they stared as the encampment was swallowed by this tide of darkness and silent violence.

The Lich's sight revealed a mad flicker in the orange light, as life vanished and was replaced by the advancing enemy. Slowly, but constantly, the flickered started ceasing. One of the armies was close to achieving victory, sadly, there was no doubt left, which would succeed. It took Fedaykin a lot of effort to turn his head and take a look at his companions. Most of them seemed to be on the edge, eyes gazing at the distant carnage. There was fear, bewilderment and in Omicron's case panic, while Weldar was only barely able to hold himself upright in the saddle. Hell, he himself was in a very bad shape. The regeneration process grinded slowly, but steadily to a halt.

There were other reactions as well, though. Ansem's face was an expression of seething rage, barely controlled. His aura was in a turmoil, gray spots appearing and dissappering constantly. This didn't look well, he was opening his mouth... and got interrupted by Raya, her face half hidden by shadows, before he could let out a word. She spoke in a low voice, but perfectly understandable, the sounds of the distant slaughter underlining the urgency her words carried.

"My friends, what you see down there, is the reason, why we have to press on." Heads turned towards her in unison, waiting for her to continue. "Yes, people died down there to give us this chance to escape the enemy. I'm no fool and honestly, I am as shocked as you are. Those brave warriors, our friend and guide amongst them, are giving their lives to nourish the flames of hope, that are burning in every cititzen of the Northlands. We are this hope!" With that, she stepped into the moonlight, her expression as hard as the ridge they were standing on. "The time to mourn their sacrifice will come, but it is not today! Now, we have to survive, make the enemy pay! With every step we take towards Leknaat, we honour them. With every city-state behind us, we let their hands strike back against their mortal foe! We owe them, and I swear, we won't dissappoint them!" She touched her mark on the front of her head and continued. "This world has left a mark on all of us. Time to return the favour!" With an abrupt movement, she turned and continued on the path in front of her.

The rest of the group stared at her, contemplating what they just heard. Some faces donned a different expression now, but itw as beyond Fed's abilities to tell, what they were thinking. He himself tried to concentrate on the escape, but his thoughts trailed back to Vandir, memories from three lifes in conflict...

Confused, he followed the rest of the pack.

Post  Raya on Wed Apr 27, 2011 2:42 pm

Leaving the carnage behind them, the members were soon galloping away into the sunrise, desperate to put as much distance between them and the Army as possible. By noontime the group's flight for freedom had slowed to an exhausted crawl. Wearily putting one hoof in front of the other the horses were close to collapse, and their riders weren't looking much better. Although they'd managed to clear the foothills the terrain was still rough, slowly wearing their energy down. Aside from the rough dirt path they'd managed to locate and follow there had been zero sign of civilisation anywhere. Were they going in the right direction? Were they even within the borders of Leknaat?

Fedaykin glanced around at his fellow travellers. He himself felt fairly alert; one advantage of being undead was having limitless stamina. But he felt weary from his earlier bout of Hunger and heavy regeneration and knew that he could do with a rest- well, a 'sit down and not move' at least. The others however appeared far worse. No one had spoken a word for the past several hours and some looked ready to fall off their saddles. Aside from a few snatched hours at the encampment nobody had slept since leaving Wyndia, and now the chaos and adrenaline of the battle had faded away they were on the brink of total exhaustion. His brow furrowed and he spurred his reluctant horse on to catch up with Raya at the front of the group.

"I think we need to stop and rest," he told her "Some of them aren't looking so good."

She blinked out of the reverie she'd been lost in and glanced behind her at the group. She opened her mouth to say something when Perry cut her off.

"No, we need to keep going," after Fedaykin Perry seemed the least affected by their exertions "We can't risk getting caught by any pursuers. We have to push on."

"I agree with Perry," Ansem interjected, his tired expression belying his words "I can keep going all day if need be."

"I bet you say that to all the girls," said Raya with a weak smile. He grinned back at her.

"Don't you know it."

"I think Fed is right," now Avalanche joined the debate, looking extremely unsteady and fighting to stay upright "We can't keep up this pace. My mana's low, we're exhausted...if anything does attack us we wouldn't stand a chance anyway."

They had to admit that. Right now the party looked like it would lose a fight to a disgruntled housecat. Raya nodded, making her decision.

"We'll find someplace suitable and rest."

They shortly came to a tributary winding its way eastwards towards a copse. She called a halt and everyone gratefully slid off, clicking sore muscles and bones back into place. The horses drank their fill and flopped to the ground, shortly followed by their riders. Within a minute they were all in a half-doze before a loud rumbling roused them.

"Whoops," said td sheepishly "Sorry, that was my stomach."

They all suddenly became aware of just how hungry they were. Aside from a few skins of water they had no supplies whatsoever; obviously Dartyk had decided it was better for them to travel fast than prepared. So now what?

Raya nodded to Fedaykin "Fed, you're most active of all of us, do you think you could...ah..."

"Catch dinner?" he broke into a grin "I'm sure I could. Wouldn't mind some help though. Omi, you're an archer, do you want to come?"

Omicron looked terrified at the prospect of going hunting with the man who had very recently attempted to eat his brains. The discussion of dinner had perked everyone up and soon a plan was underway. Several members went off hunting/foraging, others started a campfire, refilled the skins or poked around in the hope of an easy random encounter. A few of the boys even took it upon themselves to build a barbecue (what was it with the menfolk and their barbecues?). Raya watched, satisfied with how things were coming together when a snoring sound made her look round. To her surprise there was nobody there- until another snore and a patch of flattened grass gave it away. She marched over and gave the air above the grass a kick.

"Wake up you lazy bastard."

Snake jerked awake, suddenly flickering back into vision "Ow, stop it! I'm awake!"

"Nice try Snake. You going to sleep all day or help us out?"

"What do you expect me to do?" He rubbed his now sore ribs "I'm injured, don't you know."

"You big girl. Why don't you help catch some dinner?"

"How? I'm not fucking DRTJR, I'm not going to fucking uppercut a deer."

"You're a sneaky bastard, that's what you're good at. I'm sure you'll come up with something." She sighed "Look, Snake, I know you're tired. We all are. It's been a hell of a rough day and night. But we can't just give up. If we're to get through this we need to work together. I know it's hard, but unless we support each other we'll get nowhere. Besides, you know I wouldn't ask you if I didn't think you could do it. Hell, knowing you you'll come back with the biggest kill of all, just to brag about it."

"Pah. Fine, fine, I'll go, anything to shut you up." Snake got to his feet, unwilling to admit that the flattery had worked. He quickly vanished from view, the rustling of the grass the only sign of his passage. She watched him go when a whoop made her look round at the barbecue group- Sahrimnir had somehow managed to set himself on fire, much to the merriment of everybody else.

She sighed and shook her head in mild amusement. At least for the moment they could just forget the horrors of the night and refresh themselves. But dear God what she wouldn't do for a cup of tea right now...

Snake walked into the near wooded area, and walked around for a bit. How the fuck was he supposed to hunt? He didn't know how. He wasn't strong. Fuck, even with his butter knife, he was unable to kill any of the enemies so f-

There in the distance. A glimmer. Snake walked up to the shiny metal object on the ground. A bear trap.

Snake smiled with Glee. This is exactly what he needed.

You have found a Steel Bear Trap!

Snake Walked to the nearest tree and cut a few branches off with his knife.

You have found Wood!

Finally, almost everything he needed....

Post  Sahrimnir on Sun May 01, 2011 4:46 pm

We have to move on. If we don't make it those brave men's sacrifices will have been in vain.

Sahrimnir didn't say much during the journey away from the battlefield. He had much on his mind and he tends to become very withdrawn when he's deep in thought.

Actually, he didn't really say anything until the group decided to take a break and start a campfire.

"I've been a boy scout, so I'm pretty sure I've got some skills that can be of use. I'll arrange the firewood so that the fire will last a while. I need some way to start the fire, though. TJ, could you set a flame to the wood once I'm done?"

"Sure, just give the word," TJ answered.

Sahrimnir used his experiences from being a boy scout and arranged the firewood neatly. He then signaled to TJ to shoot a fireball at the wood. As the fire started, Sahrimnir stood up and turned around to face the others.

"Um, Sah," TJ said.

"What is it?" Sahrimnir asked.

"Your wing is in the fire."

Sahrimnir hadn't noticed that as he turned around he had put his right wing right in the middle of the campfire. Now that TJ pointed it out to him, he noticed... and felt that his wing was burning.

"Ah! I'm on fire! Put it out! Put it out! Put it out!"

"There's a river down there."

As soon as Sahrimnir heard this he immediately sprinted to and threw himself into the water.

Ow, being on fire hurts. I wonder if I can use my healing powers on myself...

Sahrimnir tried healing his own burned wing, but nothing happened.

I guess I can't. Hm... I'll ask Avalanche to do it then.

Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread - Page 7 Empty Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  Avalanche on Mon May 02, 2011 1:43 am

Avalanche sat down as soon as the fire got started. He was tired as fuck and really just wanted to lay down and sleep. He could take one of those powernaps, recovering his mana, but his head needed to lay down and fall asleep. But he couldn’t bring himself.
Every time he wanted to he thought back to the previous battle. Though he was disgusted by the macabre scene of the murdered camp, at the time he felt they accomplished something. Working together, this quest actually seemed possible.
But the entire army the enemy had at their disposal...... They were in way over their head. What were little more then 10 hipster forummers going to do?

He looked at the others. Did they even realize what just happened? What was going to happen if they were gonna fail? Was he just taking this bad, or were they ignoring what was at stake here. As he looked over to Raya he realized she took the loss of the highland army pretty badly herself. He didn’t think she felt like talking about it.
Neither did he really.
”Fuck this is stupid”
He rested his hand on his forehead. What was he thinking. Those were just NPC’s right? No reason to get worked up over their deaths? You slit NPC throat’s for giggles in RPG’s. Why the fuck was this reality so difficult to accept.
”But was Vandir really a NPC? he wondered, staring absent minded into the fire.”Vandir showed character, emotional range…..He wasn’t pre-programmed to spout the same nonsense line over and over….He could have easily passed as one of us……”
Avalanche’s eyes widened in the moment of an idea.
”Was Vandir one of our own? A member of our forum!? He pondered and started biting his nails while thinking harder.”No……we all got summoned here at the same time……But people disappeared……..Gorblax? Pure_Awesome? Mentok!? Kalin!!??.Maybe this world is running on Narnia time and………”
“……No.”
“No, that is fucking stupid.”
“I am an idiot.”

He sighed. The realization of the hopelessness of their quest was a real downer. Their cause was a noble one, saving the free world of uniform shadowy evil, but their means to achieve it didn’t inspire great hope.
He wanted to put his mind from it and nodded to Camilla. That would amuse him.
”You come here often?” he asked, giving a tired smile.
”Oh you.” she snickered. ”Can’t say I have…..Not that I want to make it a habbit. The dirt here just isn’t soft enough to spend the night on.”
Avalanche laughed.”Silly aussies, used to you’re soft and comfy sleeping dirt.” He smiled tiredly. ”I’ve been meaning to ask……How long have you and Omicron been here?
Camilla shrugged.”Few days? Feels like weeks. Can’t say I’ve been having a good time so far.”
“You and me both.”
“Did you all get summoned at the same place?”
she asked.
”I don’t think so….” Avalanche said. ”I woke up on a cold floor, got greeted by a elderly couple……they got murdered, I got kidnapped. Next thing you know, we’re on a quest to save the world.”
”Sounds like an average Friday night to me.” said Camilla playfully.
Avalanche wanted to laugh, but felt a yawn comming up instead, and stretched himself out.
”We just have to sort this world-saving-shit out tomorrow.” he groaned.”I really need to…….replenish my mana……..Or attempt to with all these convo’s going on.
“Alright. Good Night Av.”
“Yeah…..Night.”

He used his cloak as a make-shift pillow and tried to get some shut-eye, trying to isolate himself from the sounds comming from camp.

As Avalanche entered a light sleep he felt himself get warmer. Instead of a dreamless night or haunting dream disturbing his rest, there was light surrounding him.
It felt so familiar. So warm. As if he could reach out and touch it.
As he reached out for it however, the warmth turned into scorching heath. His hand was burning, and it was spreading over his arm. An all scorching heath about to consume him. As it held him by the throat, he shook awake. Someone casually looked in his direction, but Avalanche stayed still. The heath that spread trough his body was completly gone as soon as he woke up.

Though he kept resting, he didn’t sleep all night, and was rudely awoken by someone’s cries over a burned wing.

Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread - Page 7 Empty Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  Ansem on Thu May 05, 2011 4:04 pm

A little while back

Ansem tried to clear his head, the specks in his eyes slowly floated away. His instincts took over, he saw Snake lying there, dying, and he healed him, with Fed. Where Fed died, Snake lived. Was that the Taint? Power coming from within not only himself, but others as well? Then why did it feel so weird, bad. Not Evil, but polluted. Tainted.

And then, Vandir walked past him. They shared a glance, and he stopped for a second. Ansem felt the pressure. This was an end. The end of a chapter. He cleared his throat.
"You look resolute. You ready?"
He looked up to the sky, and Ansem could almost feel the emotion. Was this a game? A virtual reality? If so, the immersion was top notch.
"I am. And you, are you ready yet to be a Beacon?"
"Maybe, we'll have to see. Want me to say something to Larissa?"
Vandir grabbed him by the shoulders en held him close, while the Generals conversed with the others.
"Only when you're ready for it...."
He then walked away and addressed the group. He did not notice Ansems seething rage unfolding. That last sentence, for some reason, set him on fire. He was boiling, but he had to control it. This was not the time to explode. He followed the group in silence....

In the now....man

Ansem stared at the forest from a fallen tree trunk. A few feet behind him, the fire danced and spread the warmth. Ansems robe was warm enough for the night, but the warmth did feel good on his back. This forest was full of living things. Many possibilities to try out his theories about his Power, but if he were to vanish now, he would cause panic, or worry the others. At least, some of them....

"Hey prettyboy", Perry said as he walked over to Ansem, sitting down on one of the tree logs near. He had been wondering about this since the castle of Wyndia, and the past 2 battles had only made his suspiscion grow.
"You know how since we got here Feddy has dem rotting powers, Raya can wield sticks and Av suddenly looks fabulous in a dress."
"Goddammit perry!", it sounded from the other side of the camp.
Perry shrugged it off and continued. "What can you do, exactly?", he said cocking his head to the side a bit.
"Oh hey Perr. Those sticks are called swords, i know you only do Axes, but honestly, never played Warcraft or Elder Scrolls?"
They both smirked, but Ansem knew Perry was....'curious' about his power, he was the one who saw him freak out in Wyndia.

"Well, its a sort of Power channeling. I can use my own power, or that of others, and i have yet to find something that it couldnt do. I wanted to harm Meneon, and it did, and i wanted to heal Snake, and it did that. I dont know the origins, the purpose or the limits yet, but i'm on the case. What i do know, is that i dont want to use it too much. It's not good for my body...."
Ansem held out his hand, and let the taint flow, to show Perry. Faint, black threads crawled down his Arms and formed a small ball in his hands.
"See?"

Post  Requiem on Sun May 15, 2011 3:04 pm

Requiem watched the others for a short time, trying to relax himself, but unable to. His mind wouldn't stop running. He couldn't make sense of it. How could everybody be so relaxed? They were being hunted by an army with no name. An army that had already put several countries under it's power. And they were building a barbecue. It didn't make any sense to him at all.

On top of that, he still found himself wondering about what was going on in the 'real' world. If anybody noticed that he was gone, if any time had passed at all, or if everything was just going at normal speed throughout. It didn't matter too much of course, nobody would likely worry too much about him. Still, there was one thing he was rather bummed out about not having, his MP3 player. Music was a major part of his life, and now without it, he felt like he had lost a part of himself.

Finally, after sitting for a while, his thoughts driving him mad, and depressing him a bit as well, he decided to get up. Looking around again briefly, he spotted Raya, the 'leader' of their little group of 'heroes'. With a heavy sigh, he forced himself to head in her direction. "Hey, Raya!" He called out to her quietly as he approached. It didn't strike him as being advisable to just suddenly appear by her without some form of warning.

Raya turned to face him, looking slightly tired, but somewhat amused as well. "Yeah Req?" She asked, sounding slightly surprised at his sudden break from hiding in the shadows.

"Eh, yeah... Well, not to spoil the fun or anything, but do you really think it's a good idea for them to be making a barbacue, while we're being hunted by an army that's only a few miles back the way we came?" He asked.

"We've put plenty of distance between us and them. I'm sure we'll be fine." She turned away to look over the camp and then fter a moment turned back to face him "Look, Req, everyone's exhausted. They're tired, scared and we've just had the worst night of our lives. We need to rest and we sure as hell need to eat. If this little cook-out takes their minds off it for just a while...it can only do good. Besides, I want a burger."

Requiem nodded "Aye, I suppose... Nonetheless, I think someone should keep an eye out on the road. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have us all get used to working on a watch system anyway. If this all really is just a video game, things are just going to get more difficult." He shook his head slowy, feeling the fatigue on his own body "Listen, I'm going to go take the first watch, so... do me a favor?" He asked with a slight smirk "Make sure they save me some food too"

That said, Requiem bowed slightly, turned, and walked off down the road, just out of sight of the camp, and watched the roads for anyone that might approach.

There was no way Camilla could sleep. She was too hyped up on adrenaline after the battle. And timezones. Likely in Australia it was...well, actually, she'd kind of lost track of the time, but she presumed it was the middle of the day. Kicking a pebble between her leather-shod feet, she let out a sigh. Why had they all been brought here? They were just friends on a webforum, who happened to share an interest in a series that had long since ended. Why them? How had this even happened, anyway?

Well, at least there was more company. Omicron had had very little to say to her, and the people who had picked her up in the first instance...well, Sir Stick-In-The-Mud Valerian had made it clear that he had a rather unfavourable opinion of her. At least now, there were more people around.

Like Weldar, for instance. As soon as she saw him sitting by the campfire, she smiled. At least there was a friend from her timezone. Casually, Camilla strolled over to him, and sat down beside him.

"Pity we can't check for updates," she murmured, giving a soft chuckle. "I wonder what sort of shenanigans we're missing out on, you know, getting involved in our own, here."

Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread - Page 7 Empty Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  Perry on Sun May 22, 2011 4:21 pm

The victory was shallow and short, as soon the party found their way on the run without a guide and only a general direction to head towards. The group had ridden for hours and the horses had gotten dreary. Perry actually had gotten so frustrated by the speed of his horse, he'd jumped off and started walking next to the others as the horses didn't go much faster than walking tempo. The excercise apparently did him some good, as he saw the others of the group slowly slouch more and more on the back of their transport.
Why hadn't he himself gotten tired of this yet? He wasn't exactly known as the most active person back in the netherlands, so was this his transformation's doing? It wouldn't be the first thing that was changed. A quick slip of the hand downwards and he nodded contently. 'still there', he muttered.
Somehow his thoughts weren't occupied by the danger upon them at all. Perhaps it was because off the surrealism of it all, and the fact that nothing had proved much of a challenge yet with his new body, or it was that pesky habit of his to just let everything fly over him as he went as soon as it got a little too close to hitting home. One or the other, it atleast gave him some peace of mind and kept him thinking rationally. That was why when Fed mentioned the break, he was easily convinced of doing so after a quick spout of disagreement.

The camp was getting set up, and the mood had immediately lifted as soon as the party got of their horses.
Perry helped set up the campfire, because he was secretly a pyromaniac at heart. He laughed, only slightly maniacally, when sah seemed to have caught on fire.
Most of the group gathered around the fire, and the mood was rather fun. Even with them living on different sides of the world, over their time on the forum everyone still had the feeling they atleast knew eachother a 'bit'. Perry felt the same, even with his short time on the forum, but there were some he had his doubts about.
He saw Ansem sitting on a tree log near the forest, a bit distanced from the group and he frowned slightly. He hadn't ever really gottent he chance to talk to the dude, and besides the fact that he was dutch and therefore laid back and cool he barely knew anything. He remembered the day in Wyndia castle, where he had seen Ansem freaked out infront of a mirror and a cold dark aura surrounding him. In a row, the memory was followed by the image of the Dark soldier he'd found after the battle with meneon. This needed some checking into.

"Hey, prettyboy", the goatman said as he hooved his way over to Ansem.
"Oh hey Perr", Ansem responded seemingly awakening from his trail of thought. Perry sat down near him and leaned forward.
"You know how since we got here, Feddy has dem rotting powers, Raya can wield sticks and Av suddenly looks fabulous in a dress?"
"GODDAMMIT PERRY!"
, Av yelled from near the campfire.
"Those sticks are called swords, man. I know you only do axes but did you never play Warcraft or Elder Scrolls of something?", Ansem said with a smirk. Perry laughed slightly, because little did ansem know that perry was pretty much a sword's fanatic. Aside from collecting a few of them back home, he was pretty much obsessed with Katanas and other kinds of japanese swords.
He shrugged it off slightly and continued his interrogation.
"So if I may axe. What can YOU do... exactly?"

Ansem's expression suddenly grew a tad more serious. They both apparently recalled the incident at Wyndia, so he had to answer.
"See?"

Perry leaned back as he saw the dark energy crawl through Ansem's fingers and looked furrowed his brow.
"I don't think axe-actly good for anyone's body...."
"I don't know about you man, but i definately don't have that kindof 'power' flowing in me. Does anyone else know about this shit?"

Ansem looked away slightly.
"I think Fed may kindof know..."
"O god, what did you do to him?"
"Saved Snake's life, that's what"
"THat doesn't make any sense man"
"It doesn't have to. Look, I told you all I know man. I'm not exactly sure what the hell it is either but it saved a friend's life. Don't tell me you have everything figured out already, mister goatman."
"Touché...", perry said thoughtfull. "Still think you should come clean with it though, man. As a team we gotta watch eachother's back you know, and I wanna know if the thing watching my back can cause me a hernia.... that bring me on an idea."
Without hesitating, Perry jumped up and walked to the campfire expecting Ansem to follow suit.
He looked around quickly, judging who were still around. It seemed mostly Snake, fed and omi were missing at the moment and the rest were just trying to get some rest or whatever weak nonsense they were on about.
He took a deep breath and opened his yapper with a rather loud voice.

"Attention everyone!", his voice boomed over the small camp. Again with the loud voices, what was up with his vocals....
"I know you're all tired off your asses, but since we're kindof sitting around anyway... Wouldn't it be nice if we all just heard from eachother what powers/changes we've gotten since we gotten here? Most of you I can pretty much figure out, but maybe you know something I don't...."
"I'm a goat, it is me, I do goat things apparently. So far I'm not so sure what the hell im able of except that i got a bit of an athletic boost."
"And then we have Roy who looks fabulous in a dress"
"It's a robe, goddammit!"
"shut up. tranny"
, perry cut him off swiftly resulting in a soft "goddammit perry" from av's side.
"So what do you all do? No need to be cryptic, just be up and front with it."

Post  Doctor Shulk on Sun May 22, 2011 4:58 pm

Camilla looked up from her conversation with Weldar, wincing, as Perry's voice boomed out across the camp. She hadn't gotten a good chance to see the others, and it appeared that Perry was now half goat, half man. Interesting. A few of them seemed to have been changed on arrival - of course, Camilla wasn't one of them, but she'd glanced at Fed earlier, and he was...a zombie? She felt pretty lucky that she'd only been changed a little bit, really.

Poor Roy, though, constantly getting flack about his robes from Perry. Camilla smirked to herself. She had an idea, though, and if they were all going to show off their powers, she might as well poke a little fun at the same time.

"The legs are a nice touch, satyr." she piped up, a huge, cheeky grin crossing her face. She knew Perry wouldn't approve, and indeed, he didn't.

"Am I stalking you around with a giant erection?" Perry responded, frustrated. "Wait...never mind. Do I have a tail? No, I'm not a satyr." Camilla just about fell over backwards with laughter at the goatman's reply, but managed to calm herself pretty quickly. With all this drama going on, it was nice to have a few laughs. After all, what was the There Will Be Brawl forum for, if not a few laughs? Oh, something about discussing a fabled DVD and...yeah, like anyone did that anymore.

"Ahem, anyway. Perry, stand still for a moment, would ya? The best way to explain what I can do is to show you. Let's see."

Concentrating hard, Camilla stared at Perry's face - undoubtedly unnerving him, the intense concentration was more than likely a bit weird. She had to focus for this to work - being a little tired, it would be harder to do, but she was going to try to do it. Likely she couldn't hold it for very long. She needed to level up a bit more before this would come more easily to her, but she'd keep working at it. Hopefully it would come in handy someday.

A slight tingling sensation crossed her face, but she kept concentrating. Then her eyes changed, and her nose, and her mouth...until it was Perry's face on her body - albeit not a perfect reproduction, but pretty convincing nonetheless. She couldn't concentrate forever, though, and after (she presumed) people got a good look, she blinked, and her face shifted back to her own.

"I could probably do that a little easier when I'm not so tired, eheh...but hey, at least now you know how you look with breasts, Perry." Giggling to herself, she turned to stare in to the campfire. "So yeah. Shapeshifting. It's fucking creepy. At least I can look at people and note small facts about them. Saved my arse in that battle before, being able to tell exactly how they'd hit."

"Ugh..."
TD collapsed by the fire with a heavy *THUD* and closed his eyes, leaning back against a log that he hadn't bothered to sit on. He was tired. He sat there and let the heat from the fire sink into his clothes, basking in the cool night air and the warm fire beside him. As he sat there, eyes closed, he heard someone else draw close.
"Hey man, how's it going?"
TD opened one eye, and gazed blearily at the figure next to him. There stood Minby- one of the only people he really "Knew" on the forum. There's just something slightly different about knowing someone's profile, and knowing their person- and Minby was the one person he knew.
Shutting the eye again, TD tilted his head back against the log and murmured
"Hey minby..."
Minby looked at him, then squatted down, and spoke again.
"You ok, man?"
TD raised his head again, and looked Minby in the eyes.
"Oh yeah, everything's greaaaaaaaat. I'm dead tired, my head feels like it's been stepped on, and it turns out that I have the ability to give people static shocks the size of thunderbolts. Oh, and there's the fact that I'm suddenly in a world of swords and shit where everyone is trying to kill me what do you think?"
He glared at Minby, then closed his eyes again.
"Sorry... It's just... I don't know... Between the fatigue, the headache and the fact that I now need to avoid DOING retarded things as well as avoid SAYING retarded things in front of the few people I consider "Friends" on the internet... Plus the whole "Kill the champions" thing... I'm already feeling burnt out, and it's day one."
Minby stood back up, and looked at TD.
"Dude, like you said, it's only day one. Trust me, you're not going to screw up- and if you do, so what? Everyone here is your friend, no matter how stupid you look. Anyway, get some sleep. If I have to deal with you being all bitchy for the entire time we're "Champions" here, I will personally kick your ass. Smell ya later!"
TD smirked at the small joke, then resumed his rest, eyes closing as the fire gently crackled.

Post  Requiem on Mon May 23, 2011 8:50 am

Requiem had gone a ways down the road, and kept an eye out on the area they had fled from. It looked as though things had died down, which in all honesty, relieved him, and depressed him at the same time. He wondered if anybody had managed to escape. Of course, with these being video game based characters, it was likely that they wouldn't have fled, and instead would have gone down fighting. On the other hand, the enemy didn't look like they intended any further of a march. Requiem assumed this meant that they believed that they'd be able to catch them with relative ease.

In the distance, he heard Perry's voice echoing out. Requiem was almost surprised he hadn't managed to slip an axe pun in there somewhere. Nonetheless, Requiem decided that things were fine for now. The enemy wasn't going to move, and there was no point in sticking around, by himself. He hadn't realized how much he enjoyed having the others around, even if he never really said much. It hadn't been so bad when he'd first arrived in this world, he didn't know anybody, and as such didn't feel any need for company. Besides that, everybody that he had met was usually out to get him. That's just the way things were where he was summoned. But now... He'd been traveling with them, he'd spent time with them, and it didn't feel right being seperated from them all.

"Well... No point in fighting it then..." He muttered, standing up and making his way back to the camp. As he walked, he tried to figure out what he would do when he got there. He still didn't know anybody there. On the other hand, he heard Perry say something about everybody explaining their powers. That would be a good way to get to know everybody, if he could figure out what powers he had. So far the only thing he'd figured out was that after killing somebody he would have their understanding and skill in whatever weapon they used. Well... That and the enhanced strength. As he thought about it, he realized that he could use swords, axes, his fists, and whips, but still felt most comfortable using his own hands.

Suddenly he heard something off to the side of the worn out path that served as the 'road' and stopped. Just as he had brought himself to a standstill, a wild boar came charging out, and that battle scenario that he'd experienced with the fight with the old soldier guy at the castle occured, the world seemed to streamline, and an annoying battle music started playing. That music was one of the main reasons he played video games without any sound on. Requiem assumed this was the games equivalence at Random Battles. The boar looked like a common enough wild pig, and charged him, ready to tear Requiem up. Requiem rolled to the side to avoid being gored, and stood up, preparing himself for it's next charge. This time, as it charged at him, he held his ground, and as soon as it was within range, he brought his fist down against it's skull, completely destroying the small amount of brain the thing possibly had. "Well... Looks like I found a way to come back to the camp after all" He murmered with a content smile, lifting the hog and slinging it over his shoulder.

When he arrived at the camp, he was rather surprised to find Perry, staring at Perry, until he realized that one of the Perry's was human, and female at that.He stood there, watching until after a moment had passed, the face changed back and he recognized it's owner as the one they had picked up at the enemy camp.

"I could probably do that a little easier when I'm not so tired, eheh...but hey, at least now you know how you look with breasts, Perry." He heard her say before giggling and moving off to the campfire."So yeah. Shapeshifting. It's fucking creepy. At least I can look at people and note small facts about them. Saved my arse in that battle before, being able to tell exactly how they'd hit."

Requiem thought about it as he walked into the main camp and tossed the boar down next outside the ring of people around the fire. It landed with a semi-loud THUD sound, and everyone turned to face him, slightly surprised by his sudden appearance "Um... Sorry, got attacked by it while I was out..." He murmered quietly, feeling suddenly out of place. He hadn't intended to bring so much attention to himself. Well, he had, but he hadn't planned it out that way, and he couldn't stop himself from feeling like he'd interrupted them, which he had. He scratched the back of his head semi-nervously "So..."

"Congratulations Req, I'm starving" He heard someone say from the other side of the fire. Requiem looked through the flames to recognize Sahrimnir, The Burnt Wing, smiling as he looked at the pig.

Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread - Page 7 Empty Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  TD260 on Mon May 23, 2011 12:48 pm

TD stirred, and realized that the small fire he made had gone out.
Dammit...
Standing up, groaning, he could hear a loud voice from across the camp, followed by laughter.
What the hell am I doing? These are my friends... Just because I'm no longer represented by an avatar doesn't mean I'm not me, right? ...right?
With a sigh, TD gathered his stuff and walked towards the group clustered around a fire of their own- and stopped dead.
... I didn't wake up, did I? This is still a dream, right? Because I see no reason why there should be a giant goat head on a girl body unless it's either a freaking creepy photoshop, or a REALLY messed up dream...
The head slowly faded away, and TD recognized the voice immediately. It was Camilla. Still tired, and wishing to avoid attention, TD slunk into the edge of the ring as another figure emerged from the woods... Carrying a boar.
"Um... Sorry, got attacked by it while I was out..."
Said the figure, and TD couldn't place the voice immediately to a forumer- but seeing as he was here, he had to be one.
Come on... Most of these guys you know, or can guess on... He doesn't have an accent, and I haven't heard him on skype... He's probably-
"Congratulations Req, I'm starving"
Said another person, one out of his line of sight.
Right... Ok... Got Req, and that accent has to be sah... Now which person is he...
Looking around, he saw someone sitting by the fire, careful to keep his wings as far away as possible.
Wait, sah has wings? What the hell?
"Hey icarus. You're not the only one starving, you know." TD said, opening his mouth before thinking what he was saying.
Everyone turned to stare at him, and TD felt his cheeks grow how.
"Icarus... The greek... Who flew too close to the sun... Because of the burnt wing..."
Watching his joke crash and burn before his eyes, he quickly changed the subject.
"Well, does anyone have some flat metal or something? Because I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure raw meat isn't healthy to eat... And I could cook it or something... If nobody minds..."

Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread - Page 7 Empty Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  Omicron Austin on Tue May 24, 2011 5:23 pm

"Fed, you're most active of all of us, do you think you could...ah..."
"Catch dinner? I'm sure I could. Wouldn't mind some help though. Omi, you're an archer, do you want to come?"

Omicron raised his eyebrows for a moment in surprise and fear. He had avoided the zombie as much as he could the entire way here; though he knew him to be an ally, Omicron still had trouble trusting him. Anybody with any kind of "addiction" (flesh included) was bound to snap eventually. Despite all of this, Fedaykin was his friend from the forums, and everybody else seemed to trust him...

"Alright, sounds good. I guess you lead the way, Fed. Sniff 'em out for me, and I'll try to shoot them."

Fedaykin smiled and headed into the woods, Omicron trailing behind, giving a nervous glance to Raya before he vanished behind the trees.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"So Omi, I hope you know I'm sorry for whatever I almost did to you. It's still a little fuzzy to me, though."
Omicron stumbled through the various sticks, plants, and weeds. He didn't think about how incredibly dark it would get in the middle of the woods at night time.
"It's okay, Fed, I know it wasn't you doing it. At least I managed to hold my own and not get hurt. Heck, I spit flaming saliva into your eye, maybe I should apologize." They both laughed a little. "Still, what makes you think it won't happen again?"
"I'm not sure it won't."

They both went silent for a short while.

"I see a small orange blob over there...maybe a squirrel. Think you can shoot it?"
Omi glanced around, and sighed. "I can't see a damn thing, it's way too dark. I'm going to light up our torch, and hope it doesn't scare aware too much food. Here, hold this."
Omicron handed Fedaykin the torch and rubbed the tip a little to ignite it. He had started to become more familiar with his powers; enough to consistently start small fires on objects by touch. He giggled to himself as he considered the possibility of Fedaykin being explosive, considering the awful stench he gave off. Plenty of smelly things tended to be flammable.

With the slight illumination, Omicron could make out the faint outline of a squirrel perched upon a low branch, some 10 meters away from them. As quietly as possible, he pulled out his bow and loaded it. All right...let's see if this archer intuition isn't just a placebo effect. The squirrel heard a thin "twang!" and looked up to have an arrow pierce straight through its skull and pin it to the tree behind him. "Sweet!"

It was the first time he had had the opportunity to shoot at a real target since he had gotten the bow. Before the enemy came with increasing numbers and the forumers were forced to flee, Omicron was given an opportunity to pick any weapon he desired. Though he could have gone with something simple like a sword or axe, or some complex weapon like a crossbow, when he held this bow in his hands it just felt...right. The soldier that gave it to him seemed ecstatic that his weapon was chosen by a Champion, which made Omicron a little uncomfortable, but he accepted the bow nonetheless, promising to take care of it.

"I guess I'm a natural archer in this world, then," Omicron said, as he and Fedaykin walked over to retrieve the squirrel. "...with flame powers, I guess."
Before Fedaykin could reply, he sensed a new presence; a large orange blob, over in the bushes. How did that sneak up on them? "Omi, over there...there's something kind of big over there."
Eager to shoot more living things, Omicron didn't hesitate to raise his bow in the direction that Fed had pointed and readied himself to fire.
Fedaykin realized then that the blob was a person. "Hey, wai--" TWANG!

"AAAUUGGHHHH, SON OF A BITCH!" Snake lept up out of the bushes and flickered into view, an arrow stuck firmly into his buttock. "Who the hell randomly shoots into rustling bushes!?"
Fedaykin cringed a little, and Omicron couldn't help but laugh a little at the situation. He wouldn't be hurt too badly; shooting into a bush like that would severely limit an arrow's deadliness. "WHY THE HELL ARE YOU LAUGHING!?" Snake fumed.
"Haha, just be happy I'm not THAT great of a shot yet. Besides, who the hell randomly wanders around in bushes while invisible?" Omicron replied, mocking Snake's tone.
In his rage, Snake attempted to stumble over to him, but fell to his knees and yelped in pain instead. "You dick! Now you're going to need to carry me back. MOVE IT!"
Omicron and Fedaykin walked over, hoisted Snake up, and prepared to head back to camp. "In all seriousness Snake, sorry I shot you in the ass" Omi spoke, truly afraid of the spiteful pranks Snake would likely be pulling on him for the rest of their travels.

Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread - Page 7 Empty Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  Fedaykin on Thu May 26, 2011 4:16 pm

This hunt hadn't gone exactly like planned. Sure, Omicron and Fedaykin got to talk about their merry first encounter, the archer even had gained more insight in his pyrokinesis... but their prey wasn't exactly the thing they had been looking for. The two wannabe-hunters agreed, that no one back at camp(not even a half-feral Zombie) would want to eat Snake's ass. With a sigh, they agreed to help him back to camp, while the angry Texan continued describing their various shortcomings, their intelligence(or their the lack of), going into detail about how he would make them obey his genitalia and so on.

At first, this was funny, but as the Hunger slowly awakened, the humour started vanishing. Something scratched at the far corner of Fedaykin's mind, a terrible presence lingering behind his eyes. The echoes of the Hunter evaluated the difficulty on feeding on this lifeforce, not that hard at all, only a sudden...

With a surpressed grown, the Lich pushed his friends away of him, turning around the same second. "WHAT THE FUCK do you think you're doing, asshole?", screamed Snake, as he landed roughly on his wound. Fedaykin didn't turn around, his voice barely audible, "I need to be alone now. Trust me on this one... Omi knows." The pyromancer swallowed hard at this statement, urging Snake not to waste any more time. With the promise to go into details, once they were in camp, Omicron made haste.

Fed headed off into the opposite direction, his senses on high alert for suitable prey. Raya's order was not forgotten, but took a seat in the back row now, as his own needs climbed up on the list of priorities. This forrest was bristeling with life, a good hunting ground indeed. Too bad he was smelling worse than a heap of compost. The Zombie advanced to a near clearing, as his senses lead him to the perfect prize... a mighty, yet old moose. The solitary animal was quietly feeding on the moist grass, tending to its own business, but still aware of the surroundings. A plan instantly formed in Fedaykin's mind. No wind was blowing, so he got prone and silently crawled closer. His face lacking any emotion, he drew closer meter by meter. The Zombie came to a halt, only a couple of meters behind the moose. He lifted himself into a crouch, drawing his daggers, focussing. Slowly, silently he resumed his approach... and froze again, as the huge animal turned around, staring into the glowing eyes of his predator.

Fedaykin didn't hesitate. He jumped directly at the moose, clinging on its' side as it tried to evade the attack and fend him off with his antlers. In a desperate attempt to keep his position, he stabbed his weapons deep into the animal's shoulder. Letting out a roar, it dashed towards the treeline, aiming directly for the closest trunk. The Lich stayed calm, though. A few moments, before the animal could squish him like a fly, he thrusted himself forward, punching the moose in the throat and let go, falling hard on the ground, narrowly missed by a hoof, as the disoriented beast crashed into the tree.

To Fed's surprise, the trunk splintered into pieces. Apparrently, it had been hollowed out by age, being dead all along. The moose stumbled and fell, letting out wild noises. The Lich didn't hesitate, he ran towards the felled beast and broke its throat with a powerful kick. Satisfied, he drew his daggers out of the meat with a lot of effort, stumbled back and fell over something. This turned out to be a small chest, the lock broken by age as well.

Fedaykin opened it with curiosity and cracked a smile. " Well, now look at this... I need to get this to the camp. But first..."

There were some faint noises of pain, followed by a loud thud. The Lich wandered quickly back to the encampment, the chest under one arm, a leg under the other...

Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread - Page 7 Empty Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  Avalanche on Fri May 27, 2011 1:03 pm

Avalanche sat up, feeling incredibly grumpy. He understood everyone’s desire to socialize but he was exhausted and wanted to sleep. He didn't get any sleep last night, and even had to fix up Sahrimnir. He hoped no one else would be stupid enough to hurt themselves the way he did.
He could hear Perry making snappy comments about his robes.
Avalanche responded with a now tired;“goddamnit Perry. It’s a robe”
“Shut up Tranny”
“Goddamnit Perry.”
Avalanche groaned. As he looked up he realized the majority of the people around the fire were looking at him. It was probably his turn to speak.
Camilla stood up for him though, and gave everyone a most disturbing image by turning her face into that of Perry.
”What has been seen cannot be unseen!” Avalanche thought to himself.
After that TD briefly explained he had electrical powers…..along with showing he had some serious self-esteem problems, to the point where it made Avalanche cringe. What was even worse, was that Avalanche could see where he was comming from.
”Anyway, I’m a white mage of sorts….” started Avalanche, as he stood up to say his piece.”I can heal wounds and cast light protective barriers……..Though I can’t really vouch for those barriers…..Looking good in robes, I should remind Perry, is not a power of mine...it comes natural” He yawned, realizing pretty much everyone had already seen him heal. He played around with his staff a little.
”I’d show some healing, but I’m still kinda beat right now……that and I don’t think you guys are in need of healing.”

He laid down again, using his cloak as make shift pillow. He never figured out how it worked, but no matter how filthy it seemed, it became prestine after a night of sleep. It had been covered in sweat, dirt and blood, but even after all the fighting and traveling, the cloak feld soft and comfortable.
He hadn’t slept all night, as he kept feeling as if he walked the surface of the sun when he did. Convenient as those quick naps seemed at the beginning of the journey, he’d trade it for a night of healthy sleep now. Along with traveling on horseback for so long Avalanche felt tired and frustrated with his situation.
”How annoying…..” He thought to himself.”If this keeps up, the white mage will be best suited for guard duties at night……That can’t be right.
The cloak feld so comfortable……
He looked at the camp. The voices of the others were drowning out. He couldn’t even see who was next to explain his or her powers.
Maybe now would be a good time to……..
Doze off……………………………………………………….
…………just a little………..shut………………………eye………………..
……………………………………………………………..
…………………………………………w………………………
……………………………………….w……what!?

”goddamnit…..” he mumbled sleepily.
As he looked up he saw Raya’s silhouette hover over him. Still tired, and with his eyes barely open he made a mocking gesture by placing his hand at the side of his head, as if greeting a military officer. Raya snickered and slapped his hand down.
”Is it time to move out yet?” he groaned.
”It will be soon enough.” she smiled.
Avalanche whiped the sleep from his eyes (or an attempt to do so) and sat up.”So you poke me awake to determine if I was still alive, or just cause you can’t keep your hands of me?”
“Nothing quite so charming I’m afraid.”
she laughed.”And trust me, you snore loud enough for us to verify that your alive. Its day, get up and do something already. Find supplies or something." She looked up at him.”I just came by because I wondered….. Why you didn’t tell everyone you could also raise our attack strength. I mean, that really came in handy”
There was a brief silence between the two of them. Avalanche looked sheepishly at Raya, who looked a little surprised at Avalanche’s lack of reaction.”………I’m sorry what?” he said.
”In that battle with Meneon? Raya said, as if trying to make him remember.”My hits suddenly became a lot more powerfull. Didn’t you do anything to….I dunno, buff our party?”
“Not to sell myself short, but didn’t I lose counciousness halfway trough?”
Avalanche mumbled.”That and I think I’d know when I cast a spell.”
There was a brief silence between the two. Raya seemed almost disappointed that Avalanche wasn’t responsible for the rush of adrenaline she felt during the fight with Meneon.
”Then, any idea who else might have?” asked Raya.
Avalanche shrugged, and supported himself on his staff to stand up.”I have no idea……Sahrimnir also has some white magic……TJ or TD perhaps?”
Raya shook her head.”So far TJ has only been using fire spells....And I don’t think it falls in the array of skills of Sahrimnir or TD.”
Avalanche snickered.”We áre in a bizarre world Raya. Standard skill arrays may not apply here.” Raya didn’t seem to buy it. Avalanche himself had to admit he wasn’t particulary convinced either.
”Well………” he tried to continue.”What do you remember from the power boost yourself?”
Raya bit her lip. She didn’t remember their fight with Meneon fondly.”I remember seeing Spont go down, and growing angry…..Then I saw you go down and I just…….I just lost it and wanted to hurt Meneon as much as possible.
“Could you have boosted yourself?” asked Avalanche.
”I’m not a mage. said Raya, almost defensive.”Are you certain you didn’t cast a buff?”
”I know what it feels like to cast a spell.” said Avalanche.”And so far I’ve only cast Heal and Shield spells.
”What does it feel like?

Avalanche stopped for a bit. It was difficult to describe.”Its like........feeling like you’ve ran a mile…..even if I did nothing but point my staff and focus. Its a feeling of vatigue…..But not physical….. strictly speaking….”
“…………………….that doesn’t help.”
“I’m trying.”

Raya shook her head and left. Avalanche looked over his shoulder and saw a flustered Omicron walk into camp, carrying a very angry Snake over his shoulder. Upon closer inspection, Avalanche could see a arrow stuck in his……
”……………..Fuck that. Let Sah handle that.”

Post  Perry on Fri May 27, 2011 1:31 pm

Perry stood tall over all the party members sitting around the campfire, his gaze scrolling over them to see who would speak up. He semi realised that with all the odd things going on, none of them had actually greeted any of the new arrivals yet and just went with the flow. Probably because they knew eachother already, and with a giant army after your ass there was hardly any time to be surprised about seeing someone.
Camilla stood up and swayed her hips forwards with a smirk look on her face. Perry already knew that spelled trouble but he was happy to see her nonetheless... that was untill she made that damn comment.

Apparently, the matter striked an unknown nerve in perry as he was compared to a satyr. With his basic of basics knowledge of mythical creatures he'd have made the same presumption, but something inside him told him that just ain't right. Sure his comment didn't seem to go in his favor but fuck that.
The goatman huffed and stood up straightening his crooked legs, towering over his normal 6'9" and staring down at the girl.

He couldn't help but be coloured surprised when Camilla started growing a beard all of a sudden, and adapted his own facial features.
'Sweeet, shapeshifting, i want that', Perry thought. It had always been the one superpower he'd give himself, and now he got to see it with his own eyes staring into his own eyes.... and then down.
"I don't remember having those", he said smirking as he nodded his head towards Camilla's breasts. "They might be tumors, let me check", he said laughing as he jokishly raised a hand but a quick glare from an already shifting back camilla made him put it down.
With a slight cough, he laughed. "Sweet power though, kindof makes me jealous.... It'd be neat to... well, have the CHOICE to be a goat."

Av followed after, but Perry already knew about his powers. At the same time, Reqiuem seemed to have caught something to eat. Not paying attention to roy he immediately jumped up and looked at the boar."SWEET! MEAT!.... I hope any of you guys know how to skin this shit..... We can use one of the metal breastplates I gathered from the enemy as a makeshift frying pan.", he said in regards to TD.
He heard his name mentioned behind him and turned around with a grin on his face.
"It's good to know that the tranny look is au naturel, dude. Makes it that much better"

"ANyway, nice catch Req. Definitely. We were just discussing whatever powers we got since we came here, just to get it in the open. Got any secret powers on your sleeve?"

Spoiler:
It's quick and it's rough, but otherwise I wouldn't have been able to post anything until Monday. Not hijacking you Req, this conversation probably happens after you answered Perry's question. I just wanted to post something up today.

After the initial delight of having Requiem literally bring home the bacon the party realised that, actually, nobody really knew how you prepared freshly slaughtered boar into something resembling dinner. With his farm experience out of everybody Req had the best idea of what to do and quickly found himself the most popular person in camp. Struggling to hide his embarrassment at the attention he concentrated on hacking up his kill and soon there were plenty of strips of meat sizzling away above the fire.

Everyone's attentions soon turned back to the discussion of their powers before it was rudely interrupted by a stream of curses.

"-couldn't hit a broad side of a barn you fucking useless call yourself an archer goddamn piece of-"

Omicron staggered back into camp, carrying Snake in a piggy-back, the arrow still proudly on display in the latter's buttocks.

"-who the fuck shoots people in the woods do I look like a fucking squirrel-"

"Omi," said Perry in deadpan "We can't eat Snake. We don't know where he's been."

"I'll tell you where," Snake gingerly slid down off Omi's back "I'm just minding my own business when suddenly BAM, this!" he pointed at the arrow "And stop laughing, it goddamn hurts! It's probably wedg-" He yelped and whirled, finding Sahrimnir crouching behind him "What the hell are you doing?!"

"Trying to heal you," Sahrimnir held up his hand "Hold still."

"You stay the hell away from my ass!" spluttered Snake, backing away.

"It won't take a second-"

"No!"

"At least let me pull it out-"

"Get your hands off-ARGH!"

Ansem leant over to Raya, who was trying her hardest not to crack up with laughter "You're a terrible person."

Perry chuckled at the scene and turned to their leader "So, Raya, care to share your abilities?"

"Me? Hmm, I use swords." She frowned in thought "That's...that's about it, really." She decided not to bring up Avalanche's theory of boosting her own attack; she wasn't entirely convinced of it herself.

"Well what about that then?" asked Ansem, playfully poking the side of her head.

"What about what?" she raised her hand and absently scratched her mark "Oh, this? Doesn't everybody have one?" There were some negative murmurs "Huh, I assumed it was a summoner's mark and I just ended up with it in a really stupid place."

"It must mean something," said Perry "Does it give you any crazy powers?"

She cupped her hands around it and made some pew pew noises in his direction "Well, I can't shoot lasers out of it apparently. Bugger."

Perry laughed and opened his mouth to speak when Fed reentered the camp, laden with chunks of moose and, bizarrely, a wooden chest "Hey guys, guess what I've..." he trailed off "Why is Sah attempting to assault Snake?"

"It's best not to ask."

Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread - Page 7 Empty Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  Weldar on Sat May 28, 2011 6:37 pm

It was nice to talk to Camilla, Weldar had always figured she'd be the first forumer he'd meet just by virtue of distance. He hadn't really expected this context, and come to think she'd technically ended up being one of the last. Things were all going nicely till Perry came along trying to stir up more activity. Damnit Perry, I was enjoying my lazing around here and doing nothing. Luckily others spoke up first so operation laze around and do nothing was allowed to continue a little longer as he just listened. Hmm, a shapeshifter, an illusionist and a zombie, yeah I think we can run with that. Shortly thereafter the meat arrived followed by the hilariously injured Snake, it was tough to suppress the laughter at that one. Eventually all was silent except for the sizzling of meat and murmured texan obscenities.
"So yeah my powers, basically I just do nothing, but I make it look like I can do things. So yeah illusions, good for distractions and thing but can't really do a whole lot myself. I don't fully get how they work but it seems to be less creating an image and more messing with the heads of anyone who looks, I noticed with that army, the great the audience the harder it is to maintain the illusion. It also seems a lot easier to duplicate then to create real thing which makes sense given that old chain of though.
Oh yeah and I have backstab crits, almost forgot that. So yeah combine Camilla, Snake and myself and you've got a regular Spy"

Shortly thereafter Fed entered the camp. He was loaded up with various meaty bits but Weldar only noticed one thing, the dark fur the large horns. Did he seriously? Fed turned towards him with a goofy grin on his face. He seriously did just for that didn't he. Fed came over and dropped the moose head at his feet, Weldar wasn't sure whether to be laughing or faceplaming. No words were said, he knew exactly what the zombie wanted. *sigh*, Goddamnit Fed.
"CRIKEY! What a beewdiful moose"

Post  Fedaykin on Thu Jun 02, 2011 1:06 pm

For what he was able to feel, Fedaykin felt excellent. Halfway to the camp, he had already consumed every tidbit of lifeforce in the moose's leg, decided to return and get himself some more. The regeneration process made fast progress, reverting the state of decay to a bearable amount of undead meat. He figured, that he could carry more of his prey than in his previous state, even cutting off the head for future shenangians. Despite the heavy payload, the Zombie made moved in a reasonable pace and reached the camp rather quickly.

A smirk on his face, he strode right into it. Everybody who was bothered to look could see, that the Lich enjoyed his grand entrance. His gaze searched for the one person, who could appreciate his efforts most and find the right words to make this moment perfect. There was Perry, standing tall and proud, Omicron, who tried his bets not to notice Fed, as well as Snake, still cursing. A few others were around the campfire, like td messing around with some meat. Oh well, so he didn't save the group from starvation, but you can't do all yourself, right? Camilla was there too, he had recognized her from the various pics floating around the forum(as well her being the one constantly flooding his facebook with her posts). She glared at him, her eyes opening wide, moving slowly out of his way. Her body language expressed uneasiness, perhaps fear and disgust? Fed's mood darkened a bit, but instantly brightened, when he spotted his target. Grinning sheepishly, he fastened his pace and went straight up to Weldar. The Australian saw the head in the Zombie's hand, his expression only showing disbelief and a slight trace of amuesement. Fedaykin came to a halt directly in front of him, dropping his trophy to the teenager's feet. The Undead simply stood there, smiling.

After a second of hesitation, Weldar finally did it. "CRIKEY! What a beewdiful moose!", he exclaimed in his best Steve Irwin-impression. That was too much for both of them, they burst out in laughter, gaining the attention of the others. Fedaykin clapped him amically on the shoulder, ignoring the bloodstains he was causing on his robes. "Look, guys, I brought you some more to fill your stomaches!", he finally said, still chuckling. He threw the rest of the meat next to the fire from a few feet away and not looking, but still clinging on the chest he had found. He wanted to save this surprise for a little later. When he turned his head, he noticed that his aim had been an unlucky one.

Ansem was sitting there, relaxing by the best way he could manage. As a lover of the female anatomy, he studied one hell of an example. His eyes were drinking every detail, memorizing them. At the moment, his stare were fixed at his leader's mountain range, probably planning a holiday there. He was so consumed by his studies, that he didn't see the big meaty thing flying directly at his cheek. With a wet thud, his face got enveloped by dead moose. In his confusement, he jumped to his feet, throwing the "attacker" to the ground. He looked around, slightly infuriated, blood covering parts of his face. Fed's and his gaze met, locking. "FUCK! Fuck off, fucking asshole, fuck! Watch it, will ya? Seriously, not cool, dude!", he yelled, looking pissed, but still incredibly handsome. "Dear Lord, I'm sorry, I wasn't beating the meat on you by purpose, I swear!", Fed replied, surpressing laughter. "Just fuck off, man. It's getting way to light here and you're not helping, meatbag. I'm not in the mood for this kinda shit." Ansem took a seat again, aware, that he shared now the center of attention with that goddamn Zombie. Exactly the opposite of what he wanted.

The Lich on the other hand, sensing that Ansem really wasn't in the mood for this shit, decided to drop the bomb and get the attention away from his mate. They had things to discuss, but those were private. "I was hoping to save this for later, but I guess this moment is as good as any other." With this, he placed the chest next to the campfire. He was crouching behind it and opened it, so that nobody could see the content. With a wild grin and fire in his eyes, he turned it towards his audience. "Jackpot.", he whispered.

The glitter of gold greeted the assembled group.

Spoiler:
Special Cutscene for all you lucky dawwwwgs!

“Look unto thyself, and you will fail. Looking is only part of it. Understand thyself, and you will truly know. Know thyself, and only then will you know your enemy. Master the knowing, expose the mind. That, is true Fear. “ – Baw’Nun.

Death.

Chaos.

Their sweet scent carried across the battlefield.

War.

Bloodshed.

How invigorating, even the words themselves carry the taste.

Victor, the First and Highest General of the Great Army strode along the hillside. In his wake, countless soldiers, all ready and willing to die for him. Alongside him, his most trusted companion, solitude. Being a General, an army was only fitting. But he wouldn’t need a guard. None opposed the Beacon of Fear, the greatest warrior who ever lived.
As he walked along the path, the slaughter became a massacre. Highland soldiers were known for their strength and courage. It did not help them here. Not against him. And he didn’t even need to lift his sword. The unusually large bastard sword laid restless in its sheath, longing to take part in the slaughtering of the brave humans and stout dwarves. Suddenly, an arrow surged across the battlefield. Victor could see the shooter, a tall man, long hair in a ponytail. The head was jagged, and it had long, white feathers. The features were easily distinguishable, the wood was of good quality, and the shaft was solid. As it flew trough the troops, Victor simply walked towards it. And with a simple gesture, he snatched it, out of the sky. And with another gesture, he threw it back, hitting a dwarf who was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Lucky for the shooter, guess he would just have to get over there. Victor unsheathed his sword, and swung it down in a wide arc. The sheer force of the move drove the highlanders back. But they were courageous, and would not be easily intimidated. Victor smiled. He liked them.
By the time Victor arrived at the man with the ponytail, a clear path trough the highland defences had been cut. One man stood in pure destruction’s wake.
“You must be Victor. I am Dartyk. Don’t think this will be easy, I am the General of the Human arm-AARGH!”

Dartyk. Good name for a general. Strong, inspiring. Too bad he talked too much. Then, Victor’s vision was drawn to a single man. That was the one. He was the strongest here.
“I am Victor. Tell me your name.”

“Vandir.”

“Good Vandir, you show no fear. Lets make this memorable.”

Vandir spat on the ground and raised his claymore. “Let’s”

With a roar, the two men clashed. The brute power of steel hitting steel was enough to send shockwaves across the battlefield. Immediately, Vandir spun around, swinging his sword in a wide arc, giving Victor little time to block. The General brought up his sword with one arm, narrowly blocking the claymore while trying to grab Vandir’s arm. Vandir jumped backwards, landing besides a slain comrade. It only gave him more resolve, and with a battle cry, he resumed his deadly dance with that monster.
For what seemed like hours, the two man spun around each other, and each time the swords clashed, sparks flew, and the ground shook. While Vandir’s movements became slower, Victor showed no signs of fatigue. He showed no emotions whatsoever. Then, in a moment of desperation, Vandir gathered all the strength he had and put it in one final blow. He was no mage, but in that moment, it looked like he drew immense power from the earth itself, and with a great strike, he swatted victor’s sword away and slashed at his chest. Then, a great silence dawned on the battlefield. Nothing moved, nothing made a sound. Then, a single speck of crimson dropped on the dirt below. Victor rose up, looked at his wound, and then at Vandir.
“You have fought admirably. But I grow tired of this, and I have a capital to punish. “
Vandir wiped his face with his sleeve and took his sword in two hands.
“You talk as if you can actually defeat me. You don’t have the hart to beat me!”

A flash. A great roar. The scent of blood filled Vandir’s nose. He looked down. A gaping wound in his side. His knees gave in. His fingers lost grip of the sword. The ground felt cold. His head was spinning. Blood, sweat and dirt filled his vision. But he could still see the man looking down on him. His sword red, with his blood! That couldn’t…. it just…. why did….
“Larissa…..”

With a quick sweep, most of Vandir’s blood was removed from Victor’s sword. As he wiped the rest of it off with a piece of cloth, he looked down at the man he just killed. He could see the light leaving the dying man’s eyes, still wanting to fight for a cause lost so long ago. Victor smiled, there was a time when he was like that. He kneeled down at the soldier, and noticed the necklace. He took it out. It was a locket. The woman was beautiful. Then, he noticed something else. A wound, one that he did not inflict. It was healed, but with beginning magic. That unique texture, like a signature. So much like...could it be? They were here!

“Take this man to the Healers. I have some questions for him. The rest of you, press on. This Night is ours.”

The general threw the locket up in the air and caught it again. It would serve him well. This night was truly his. He had won the battle, fought a brave man, and now a lead on perhaps the most interesting people in the world right now. Yes, it was truly his….

Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread - Page 7 Empty Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  Raya on Sat Jun 11, 2011 2:19 pm

Spoiler:
Considered either doing a humourous filler post or a big plot-moving one. I got shouted at to do the plot one Laughing Blame Avalanche for the ending...

Fedaykin's gold revelation had everyone chattering in excitement, mainly from wondering how the hell a moose had a chest of gold coins inside it. It was dismissed as either video game logic or some really crazy wizards. There much debate on how to split the find; should they use it to buy equipment for the entire party or split it equally? If they kept it as a shared pool, how would they choose what equipment to buy when they found the inevitable item shops? But if they split it, who'd pay for the group's supplies? In the end they settled on keeping a good chunk aside for party supplies and dividing the rest of the coins between them. At least then there wouldn't be any arguments over who got the Legendary Sword of Badassery when they found it.

Feeling suitably refreshed after a good meal and a power nap the party saddled up and continued their journey. Eventually the foothills gave way to long rolling plains and a few questions to suspicious locals soon directed them to the paved roads leading to the capital.

They could see Isharah long before they reached the outlying towns. It began as a pale shimmer on the horizon, coalescing into an immense fortress city that shone golden in the warm light. Masses of gleaming white spires clustered together in the centre, each trying to outdo the others in piercing the heavens. Around them swooped what appeared to be large birds, but to everyone's amazement on closer inspection were snow-white griffins. The entire citadel was encased by towering ivory walls, so smooth they shone dazzling with the setting sun. Bright pennants hung from the crenellations, proudly proclaiming the city's splendour and might to all those that would dare defy it.

The roads soon became busier from the traffic heading to and from the capital. Families, merchants, travellers, they all jostled for a place on the neatly paved roads. Overseeing the organised chaos were mounted knights, each resplendent in polished armour and elaborate tabards. They didn't move, they didn't say anything, but everyone on the road kept their eyes averted and hurried past their stern gaze.

The party earned themselves a few surprised looks as they stabled the horses at a roadside tavern and continued on foot. Fedaykin had had the foresight to wear a hood to hide his face, something he was immensely glad for in these crowds. Perry on the other hand was still proudly naked and becoming distinctly aware of the stares and whispers directed at him as they passed. At one point he was sure he heard a mother pulling her child away, hissing that he would carry her off and eat her if she wasn't careful. He wasn't sure whether to be amused or insulted.

They soon found themselves funnelled towards one of the public entrances of the city, overseen by an exceptionally bored looking official wearing fine robes in an attempt to appear higher up the social ladder than he actually was. He scratched away at the documents in front of him, barely looking at the people he was judging. Behind him loomed two guards, both encased in head-to-foot plate armour, a tower shield gripped in one gauntleted hand and an immense mace in the other. Despite not having a single piece of flesh exposed it was clear the sentinels were staring intently at the crowds in a way that made all of them feel distinctly uncomfortable.

As the group finally reached the official's desk Raya discovered one of the downsides of being the leader- having to be the one who deals with all the bureaucrats.

"Name?" asked the official in the tone of one counting down the seconds to the end of his shift.

"Members of the There Will Be Brawl forum."

"Occupation?"

"Heroes."

"Purpose of visit?"

"Audience with the leaders of the city state."

That was enough to make the pen stop scratching and the official actually look up.

"Are you serious?"

"Yes."

"The Emperor and the Ruling Council don't hold audiences with people off the streets."

"We've got a letter from the King of Wyndia," Avalanche scuffled in his robes and pulled out the scroll "See?"

The official glanced at the seal with mild disinterest "Yes, good luck with that." He went back to his papers "Oh, do you have a permit for that by the way?"

"For what?" asked Avalanche confused "The letter?"

"No," he unfurled a finger and pointed "For that."

It took a few seconds for everyone to realise that he was pointing at Perry.

"The fuck?" spluttered the indignant goatman.

"You need a permit to bring subhumans into the capital," drawled the official at Raya, completely ignoring Perry "If we let everyone keep them they'll start to infest the entire city like vermin. Perhaps if you keep him leashed-"

"Listen here!" roared Perry "I am not a fucking subhuman and you can take your permit and shove it up your a-"

"He's a gift!" interrupted Raya hurriedly "Got him for my birthday. I'm training him to be a bodyguard but he's not broken in yet. I'm working on his manners." Perry made to rant when she shot him a look of for God's sake Perry play along I'm so so sorry about this. He forcibly swallowed his pride.

"Yes, me Perry. Awesome gift. Come with cake and hats."

The official clearly didn't believe a word of it but wasn't paid enough to care. He stamped one of the documents in front of him "Go on through. Mind your business and don't cause any trouble."

They'd barely made it through the gates and into the busy streets when Perry exploded with rage and Avalanche exploded with laughter.

"Subhuman? SUBHUMAN?! What the fuck are they-"

"Hahahaha," laughed Avalanche "Maybe we should get you a leash whilst we're here."

"Shut up Roy!"

"Maybe a little collar with your name on it."

"Shut up Roy!"

"I don't like this place," Requiem was glancing nervously at the crowds "There's something...wrong about it."

"Aside from the rampant discrimination?"

"Yeah." Req looked around. The street was wide and spacious, clean of any kind of refuge a city of that size would be expected to generate. The buildings were made of pale stone and dark wood, whitewashed and thatched. Posters were scatted about, most bearing the image of a stern looking man, announcing royal proclamations or extolling the virtues of the wondrous paladins that kept the world's evils at bay. Masses of people- entirely human- wove back and forth on their errands whilst sentinels and soldiers marched boldly on their patrols, the crowds parting like water around them. The military presence was everywhere. "It's...it's too perfect. Everyone's disciplined, everyone's happy but...everyone's afraid."

"Oh great," drolled Ansem "We're in the city of fascist religious assholes. This is going to be fun."

After a quick debate it was decided that they should head to the palace first, then go looking for supplies and a place to crash later. Who knew how long it would take for this Emperor and Ruling Council to see them? Besides, if things went well maybe they'd be allowed to stay in the palace. It would certainly beat sleeping on the open grass again.

"What are we going to say to them?" asked td as the group wound its way through the maze of streets towards the tallest spire.

"We'll just explain our story," answered Weldar "That letter should prove our authority."

"Didn't Larissa say they don't get along with everyone else?"

Avalanche took out the scroll, looking at the Wyndian Royal Seal it bore "This is a royal degree, surely they've got to-" suddenly something barrelled into the back of him, knocking him flat and small hands tore the scroll from his grasp. He'd barely gathered his wits when he spotted his assailant, a young street urchin dressed in rags sprinting away as fast as he could. And in his hands-

"The scroll!" Avalanche scrambled to his feet "The little bastard stole it!" he paused "And my gold too! SHIT! Stop him!"

Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread - Page 7 Empty Re: Dark Before The Dawn- RP thread

Post  Avalanche on Mon Jun 13, 2011 3:45 pm

Avalanche was impressed with the white city Isharah. The towers and beautiful white buildings gave it a majestic feel, and actually made it feel worth the journey. It was hard to ignore the heavily armored paladins at every street corner though. Avalanche had the sneaking suspision they were attracting their attention.
He looked down at his sash, and wondered if he’d find anything worth buying here with the gold Feday had found miracalously inside a moose.
”Perhaps a new staff…” He thought to himself. Comfortable as his staff had gotten, it was probably extremely low tier equipment.
As Raya was getting permission for Perry, Avalanche was biting his tongue. He feld his lungs turn around in his chest. He wanted to roll on the ground and laugh out as Perry begrudgingly played along. But doing so in front of the official would only comfirm his suspisions.
He’d definatly poke fun at Perry for this one as soon as they were out of hearing distance of the offical.

As they decided to go to the royal palace, Avalanche took out the scroll, given to him by Vandir before parting ways at the battle field. Avalanche had been vigilant in keeping the scroll secured in his sash. He wouldn’t lose it fo—
BUMP!”WHAT THEF”
A sudden force knocked against him and knocked him face first into the white streets. As he regained his sense of what was up and down he realized both the scroll and his pouch of coins were surprisingly absent.
A young lad dressed in rags was running away from the group, and Avalanche realized what had occured.
”The scroll!” he shouted while getting back on his feet.”The little bastard stole it!”
Avalanche grabbed his staff and attempted to cast a few Holy Shield spells to block the thiefs path, but he casually ran around it.

Minby gave a slightly cocky smirk and moved in a metaphorical starting position.”Challenge accepted.” he said, before taking off and dashing after the culprit. Instead of wasting time and going round the barricades set up by Avalanche, he jumped over them.
While being incredibly fast, Minby wasn’t used to run trough crowded streets like the one he was currently running through. The kid was smaller, and darted trough the crowd, and took quick cuts into alleys in an attempt to thwart Minby. Minby however, wasn’t giving up, as the pursuit dragged on. Fast as he was, Minby had to rely on his scouter when he lost track for a moment, and found that the kid was traveling on the roofs.
”Wonderfull….” He thought to himself, now continuously looking on his scouter to keep track of his movements. The streets started to look darker and darker, eclipsed by the white towers. The streets started to resemble a slum more and more the further Minby ran.
The kid seemed certain that he had lost Minby and jumped down. The slums were a pretty depressing sight. It was a dark and dirty hole, with plenty of rats were running around like they owned the place.
As the kid was about to open the door to his shack, Minby came sliding past the corner. The kid looked in shock as he desperatly tried to open the door in time in time, but Minby pulled one last sprint and ran straight into the kid, bashing trough the door.
”Alright alright!” the kid cried as he squirmed around.”Please I’ll return everything. Just don’t hurt me please!

Avalanche, TheTJ and Sahrimnir finally caught up. Avalanche and TheTJ looked exhausted from attempting to keep up with Minby, but TheTJ swore he recognized a sidequest when he saw one. Sahrimnir had flown ahead to keep track of Minby and the little thief. His wings looked weak and tired from the excersize, as Sahrimnir hadn’t used them as much before. He was honestly surprised by himself crossing the city like that.
When Avalanche caught his breathe he snatched the scroll from the thief’s hands.”The hell do you need this letter for anyway?” he grunted pissed off, and tempted to give the kid 5 across the face.
The kid avoided his angry gaze.”It looked fancy….I thought I could sell it.” he mumbled.
”Oscar? Is everything alright?” a weak, light voice said. A small girl, not older then 8 with long and incredibly messy blonde hair stood in the door opening, supporting herself against a wooden beam. Her face was incredibly pale, and she appeared to be shaking on her legs.
The little thief’s face turned from rude to friendly as he scrambled on his feet and walked over to the girl.”Nina…” he whispered.”You should be in bed.”
”I heard noises”
“Its nothing.”
Oscar said hastily.
”Who are those people?”
“It’ll be fine, I promise. Go back to bed.”

The little thief, now named Oscar sighed as his sister went back into the backroom, before turning to the men that pursued him to his home.
”Look, you caught me at a troublesome time….” He said softly.”Can I just give you your stuff back and call it even?
Sahrimnir pointed to the door to the backroom.”Was that your sister? She looked kinda sickish.”
The kid nodded and shoved the pouch of coins in Avalanche’s hand, clearly wanting them to leave as soon as possible.
”What’s wrong with her?” continued Sahrimnir.
”She’s sick okay? What is it to you!?” Oscar snarled.
”Is that why you robbed Avalanche?” Sahrimnir asked concerned. Avalanche looked rather annoyed at the prying questions Sahrimnir was asking the kid.
Oscar bit his lip.”She’s ill okay? I don’t know what she has, but she’s slowly becomming blind, her wounds won’t heal….I don’t know!
“Well…We can look at her.”
Sahrimnir opted.
”Dude you serious?” asked Avalanche.”His first instinct is to steal my stuff, and you want to help him?”
“Come on Av, can’t hurt to look.”
said TheTJ.”Think of teh exp.”
Avalanche sighed.”Fine, let’s take a look.” he groaned.
Minby rose his hand.”Guys that’s great and all, but Raya will need that scroll.”
”Well take it to her. Use that scouter to find us later.”

Avalanche tossed Minby the scroll, who ran off, while the three of them took a look at their patient.

Watching a portion of their group sprint off in persuit of an urchin, TD resisted the urge to start patting himself down to check for all his equipment. He was already attracting enough stares as it was.
I didn't really have enough time back at the castle to acclimate myself to the norm here- all I did was throw some armor on top of my clothes... Maybe while i'm here I should pick up something else to wear. I mean, I've got all this money to spend anyway...
A thought ocurred to him.
"Hey Raya..." He said. "Are we going to see the king right now?"
Ansem cut in immediately after he finished speaking.
"We're not going anywhere until we get that paper back."
TD winced, and said "Well... Yeah, but I meant after we get that paper back. I mean... We're going to see a king, aren't we? Shouldn't we at least try to make ourselves presentable?"
Again, Ansem had an answer.
"This is more important than personal comforts. We NEED to get to him as soon as we can. In case you've forgotten, there's an entire freaking army on our tail. We need to alert the king as fast as possible- at the very least to get him to prepare for the inevitable attack. Or have you forgotten this in your persuit of comfort?"
TD flinched again, and stepped back.
"No... It's just... King... First impression..."
He shook his head.
"Never mind. Forget I said anything"
With that, he stepped back a bit towards the outer edge of the group and fell silent as they all waited for their companions to return with the scroll.
